VBX -160 Yi Webcam Setup Instructions
This document covers:
1) Powering up the camera
2) Connecting the camera to a YI Home Account
3) Sharing camera
4) Placing camera inside VBX-160
Step 1 - Preparation
1. Model # YI Dome Camera 1080p Black
2. Items to use in box:
○ Camera
○ USB Cable (3 meter)
○ Twist lock bracket
3. Items not used:
○ Screws
○ 110VAC connector
○ White USB cable
4. Connect USB cable to camera from the VBXC computer with USB cable 5002766.
5. Magnet base mounts to ceiling of VBX-160.

Step 2 – Powering Up Camera
1. Camera will power-up automatically once connected to
power (VBXC computer is on)
Step 3 – Connecting to YI Home Account
1. Download YI Home App onto Smart Phone
a. Customer can use their phone so they can own and control access to
camera.
2. Connect to isolated wi-fi at customer’s site.
a. Isolated wi-fi is recommended as camera is a cloud connected device and
its security is not controlled by VersaBuilt.
3. Click “Sign-Up” to create your Yi Home Account
a. Username = _______________________________ (Record Username)
b. Password = ________________________________(Record Password)
4. Select camera type: YI 1080P Dome Camera

5. Once you hear “
Waiting to connect
”, click “I heard “Waiting to Connect” on your YI
Home App.
6. Point QR Code on Phone to YI camera lens
7. Select Wi-Fi network & Enter Wi-Fi password
8. May take up to 10 minutes for the camera to connect, even if the camera shows
an error that it did not connect.

9. Change camera name to Customer name & VBX Serial Number, e.g.,
Rekluse
VBX00022
10. Click start using my Yi

Step 4 – Placing Camera inside of VBX-160
1. Route cables and zip-tie to cables going to VBXC monitor, then up to the interior
roof of the VBXC, with zip-ties connecting to holes on the supporting angle pieces
on the roof
2. Attach custom aluminum bracket with magnetic material attached to YI camera
twist lock bracket & attach to camera
3. Secure the camera to the interior roof, as shown in pictures below
Step 5 – Sharing Camera with Team or Customers
1) Open YI Home App on phone
2) Find Camera you want to share
3) Click on the symbol in the upper right
view of the camera
4) Select
5) Select Share with YI Account

6) Type in username to share & click ok
7) Confirm share was successful
