INSTALLATION

Instruction c refully to void injury or d m ge
to the compressor or your vehicle.
E ch of our ir source kits nd p rts h ve been
c refully produced nd p ck ged. Before you
begin inst ll tion, ple se f mili rize yourself with
Inst ll tion P rts List (Fig. 1) of this m nu l.
Selecting Mounting Loc tion:
The selection of proper mounting loc tion for
your ir source kit will help ensure long nd
trouble free service life. Ple se p y close
ttention to the following guidelines:
1. Select FLAT AND SECURE loc tion where
the ir source kit c n be mounted.
2. To m ximize ir compressor perform nce,
loc te compressor s CLOSE TO THE
BATTERY s possible so th t length of
positive le d wire required is t minimum.
3. Choose mounting loc tion th t is s cool s
possible nd AWAY FROM HEAT SOURCES.
The cooler the mbient temper ture the less
ch nce the compressor will overhe t.
4. The compressor is moisture & spl sh
resist nt, but NOT WATERPROOF. Do not
mount ir source kit in loc tions where the
unit is likely to come in cont ct with w ter.
5. If it is necess ry to mount the ir
compressor further w y from the b ttery,
such s inside your vehicle or in the bed of
your pickup, use minimum 8 AWG
positive le d wire for remote inst ll tion.
6. Do not mount ir source kit ne r re s
where fl mm ble liquids re stored.
MOUNTING AND WIRING
1. Disconnect ground c ble from vehicle’s
b ttery.
2. Tempor rily position the ir source kit in
the loc tion where it will be mounted.
3. Route ground wire to the neg tive post of the
b ttery or to n ppropri te grounding point nd
cut ground wire to length s needed.
4. Mount ir source kit t t nk leg mounts with the
four grommets, nd four sets of bolts, nuts,
w shers, nd locking w shers provided.
5. Route ir line to the 1/2-inch compression
fitting nd m ke your ir line connection.
Tighten compression fitting nut securely
using wrench.
6. Connect ground (Bl ck) wire to cle n
ground, (prefer bly ch ssis ground) nd
secure with self-t pping screw.
7. Connect positive (Red) le d wire from pre-
inst lled pressure switch to fuse holder
(20- mp minimum).
8. Once the kit is properly fused s close s
possible to the power source, connect nd
test compressor system by running the
compressor for short time to build up
pressure in your ir t nk.
9. Once ir pressure re ches preset cut out
pressure of your pressure switch (165 PSI
cut-on, 200 PSI cut-off), the compressor
will shut off utom tic lly. Inspect ll ir
line connections for le ks with so p nd
w ter solution. If le k is detected, the ir
line m y not be cut squ rely or pushed ll
the w y in. Tighten connections if needed.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. IMPORTANT:
Alw ys oper te the compressor BELOW the
MAXIMUM PRESSURE RATING of the compressor.
Ple se refer to Applic tion & Specific tions
Sections of this m nu l for det ils.
2. Alw ys observe the MAXIMUM DUTY CYCLE
of the ir compressor. Refer to Compressor
Applic tions nd Specific tions Section of this
m nu l for det ils. Oper tion exceeding
m ximum pressure r tings nd or duty cycle
will result in d m ge to ir compressor.
3. Your ir compressor is equipped with n
AUTOMATIC THERMAL OVERLOAD
PROTECTOR. This fe ture is designed to
protect the ir compressor from overhe ting
c using perm nent d m ge to your ir
compressor. The therm l overlo d protector
will utom tic lly cut off power to your ir
compressor should the intern l oper ting
temper ture of the ir compressor rise bove
s fe levels during excessive use.
4. Should t ny time during use, your ir
compressor utom tic lly shuts off; do not
ttempt to rest rt ir compressor. Turn power
switch to the ir compressor to the OFF position.
The utom tic therm l overlo d protector will
utom tic lly reset when intern l temper ture of
the ir compressor drops below s fe levels. After
llowing ir compressor to cool off for bout 30
minutes, you c n s fely resume use of the ir
compressor by turning on the ir compressor.
5. To prevent disch rge of your vehicle’s
b ttery, we strongly recommend th t you
keep the vehicle’s engine running while
using the ir compressor. Compressor
perform nce is enh nced when oper ting
compressor with vehicle’s engine running.
6. IMPORTANT:
ONLY OPERATE THE AIR COMPRESSOR IN
WELL-VENTILATED AREAS.
AIR TANK PRECAUTIONS
IMPORTANT:

200 PSI m ximum working pressure. Do
not overfill. Overfilling m y result in
de th or serious injury.

before servicing or dding tt chments.
DRAIN TANK OFTEN TO REMOVE
CONDENSATE. FAILURE TO DRAIN TANK
WILL ALLOW TANK TO RUST INTERNALLY.

pressure from t nk until pressure is
pproxim tely 5 PSI to 20 PSI.

nd cle n, then reinst ll.

close the dr in cock.
IMPORTANT: Observe ir t nk D te of
M nuf cture (st mped on t nk leg). Repl ce
ir t nk 2 to 5 ye rs from d te ir t nk w s
first used, or use the d te of m nuf cture s
reference. Your dherence to ir t nk
dr ining guidelines will determine the
repl cement d te of your ir t nk. RUSTED
TANKS CAN FAIL CAUSING EXPLOSIONS
OR FATAL INJURIES. Disc rd t nk
immedi tely if t nk is rusted.
NOTE: When using s fety pressure relief
v lve, point the s fety pressure relief v lve
w y from your body. Use the pull ring on
the s fety relief v lve; open the relief v lve
to vent ny pressure inside the t nk before
ttempting to service t nk.

About Compressor Duty Cycle:
Compressor Duty Cycle refers to mount of time
compressor c n be oper ted in given time period, t 100
PSI nd t st nd rd mbient temper ture of 72°F. Duty
Cycle is commonly expressed in percentile s:
Compressor On Time/ (Compressor On Time + Off Time)%
As n ex mple, compressor th t is r ted for 25% duty
