disconnect hose from compressor, with the tire inflation

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Please read and follow the operating instr ctions
caref lly to ass re that yo will enjoy the convenience
and best se o t of yo r air compressor.
IMPORTANT:
1. Always operate the compressor AT OR BELOW THE
MAXIMUM PRESSURE RATING of the compressor. Refer
to Specifications section of this man al.
2. Always OBSERVE THE MAXIMUM DUTY CYCLE of the air
compressor. Refer to Specifications section of this
man al for details. Operations exceeding maxim m
press re ratings and or d ty cycle will res lt in damage to
air compressor.
3. Yo r air compressor is eq ipped with an AUTOMATIC
THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTOR. This feat re is
designed to protect the air compressor from over-heating
and ca sing permanent damage to yo r air compressor.
The thermal overload protector will a tomatically c t off
power to air compressor sho ld internal operating
temperat re of the air compressor rise above safe levels
d ring excessive se.
4. Sho ld yo r compressor sh t off s ddenly after extended
se, do not attempt to restart air compressor. T rn
ON/OFF switch of air compressor to the OFF position. The
a tomatic thermal overload protector will a tomatically
reset when internal temperat re of the air compressor
drops below safe level. After allowing air compressor to
cool off for abo t 30 min tes, yo can safely res me se
of the air compressor by t rning on the air compressor.
5. For yo r convenience, and to protect the air compressor
from over-press re operation that can ca se permanent
damage to the nit - this compressor is eq ipped with
b ilt-in press re switch with a factory set c t-on press re
of 120 psi (± 5%) and a factory set c t-off press re of 145
psi (± 5%). D ring inflation of tire press res between 115
psi to 145 psi, if yo stop inflation, the compressor may
not restart. This is completely normal, since inline
press re is greater than c t-on press re of the press re
switch and less than c t-off press re of the press re
switch. To restart compressor, deflate tire press re to
below 115 psi, reconnect tire ch ck to tire valve stem and
res me tire inflation.
6. Please note that yo may experience a slight delay (abo t
½ second) of the compressor’s motor starting when the
ON/OFF switch is t rned on while compressor is
press rized (when there is press re in the line that the
compressor is connected to). This is a normal delayed
reaction, not a Compressor ON/OFF switch malf nction.
7. It is strongly recommended that yo keep the vehicle’s
engine r nning while sing the air compressor to prevent
discharge of yo r vehicle’s battery.
8. ONLY OPERATE THE AIR COMPRESSOR IN WELL
VENTILATED AREAS. Compressor performance is
enhanced when operating compressor with vehicle
engine r nning.

TIRE INFLATION & DEFLATION
IMPORTANT: Before attaching air compressor
power clamps to yo r vehicle’s battery terminals,
check to make s re that the ON/OFF switch of yo r
compressor is in the OFF position. Attach the
Positive (+) battery clamp (Red) to the Positive
terminal of the battery and the Negative (-) battery
clamp (Black) to the Negative terminal of the battery.
Always keep yo r vehicle’s engine r nning while
operating compressor to avoid draining yo r
vehicle’s battery.
CAUTION: Yo r Portable Air Compressor is
Moist re and D st Resistant, b t NOT WATER OR
DUST PROOF. Never place compressor in soft sand
while r nning the compressor. Vibration from the
compressor will ca se the compressor to settle into
soft sand, res lting in compressor drawing in foreign
particles. Never expose compressor to water while
r nning the compressor.
IMPORTANT: Make s re compressor sits pright
while operating compressor. Avoid t gging at
compressor if line is ta t. Instead, move the
compressor to the same side of vehicle as tires that
are being aired p.
IMPORTANT: Always make s re the Portable
Compressor’s power cord is ncoiled and f lly
extended when sing yo r air compressor to avoid
overheating the power cord.

Tire Inflation G n
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:
This air compressor comes with 1/4” q ick connect
st d. An extension coil hose and a tire inflation g n
are also incl ded with yo r compressor. Each end of
the extension coil hose is eq ipped with a 1/4” q ick
connect co pler. The tire inflation g n comes with a
1/4” q ick connect st d, press re ga ge, r bber
hose, bleeder valve and tire ch ck. Attach one end of
the extension coil hose to the st d on yo r
compressor and the other end to the st d on the tire
g n kit. The tire g n kit can be sed for both airing
p and airing down. Please familiarize yo rself with
the following f nctions of this versatile air tool:
A. TIRE INFLATION:
1. Attach one end of the extension coil hose to the
compressor and the other end to the tire g n kit.
2. P sh the tire ch ck, with the lever in the pright
position, down over the tire valve stem and then
p sh the lever down to the horizontal position to
lock in place.
3. T rn compressor switch on and hold down the
trigger on the tire g n kit to begin inflation.
4. When desired press re is reached, release the
trigger and t rn power switch on compressor off.
Note: Yo r air compressor is eq ipped with a
press re switch (c t in at 120psi, c t o t at 145psi).
This feat re is designed to protect the air
compressor from over-press re ca sing permanent
damage to yo r air compressor. The press re switch
a tomatically t rns off the motor when the internal
press re of the air compressor reaches the factory
set “c t-o t” press re (145psi) and restarts when the
internal press re drops below 120psi.
B. TIRE DEFLATION:
1. P sh the tire ch ck (with the lever in the pright
position) down over the tire valve stem and then
p sh the lever down to the horizontal position to
lock in place.
2. Press the bleeder valve b tton on the tire g n kit
to decrease tire press re.
3. When desired press re if reached, release the
bleeder valve b tton to halt deflation.
C. INLINE PRESSURE GAUGE:
1. The press re ga ge on the inflation g n provides
convenient tire press re monitoring when airing
p or down (not airflow of the compressor). This
eliminates switching back and forth between a
tire ch ck and a tire press re ga ge.
2. Please note that d ring inflation and deflation,
d e to air velocity, press re ga ge cannot
provide acc rate press re readings. Release
lever on the tire inflation g n d ring inflation to
check tire air press re.
NOTE: To release excess press re, t rn off
compressor and disconnect hose from compressor.
With the tire inflation g n still connected to the other
end of the coil hose, p ll trigger on the tire inflation
g n to release excess press re.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Always inflate tires to man fact rer’s
recommended tire press res. Exercise extreme
ca tion when driving with aired-down tires. Re-
inflate tires before high-speed roadway travel.
2. Never exceed 20 M.P.H. when driving with
partially-inflated tires.
3. Never make sharp t rns while driving with
red ced tire press re.
4. Re-inflate tires before high speed traveling on
roadways.
5. Use heat-resistant, minim m 200 PSI-rated
working press re extension hose. Do not se
aftermarket hoses with less than 200 PSI working
press re. Some aftermarket hoses may not be
s itable for se with this air compressor d e to
heat and press re typically generated by this
type of air compressors
IMPORTANT:
Always se an Open-Ended tire ch ck s ch as the
tire ch ck eq ipped on the tire g n kit for tire
inflation when sing a compressor witho t an air
tank.
CAUTION: Never to ch the air compressor or
fittings connected to the air compressor other than
the ON/OFF switch with bare hands d ring or
immediately after se. The extension hose and
fittings connected extension hose will become very
HOT d ring and after se. If necessary, wear heat
resistant gloves to remove hose from the compressor
q ick connect st d.
RECOMMENDATION
This compressor is eq ipped with a poppet press re
release head valve. Head press re will slowly
decrease (press re will be released thro gh the
intake port of the compressor) to allow smooth re-
starts nder press re. If compressor’s is hooked p
to power so rce and if the power switch is left in the
ON position for more than 7 to 8 min tes,
Compressor will a tomatically t rn on for a short
d ration (3 to 5 seconds) to recover press re d e to
b ilt-in press re switch. This is a normal f nction of
the compressor. Always sh t off power to the
compressor when the compressor is not in se.
MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS
1. Yo r air compressor is eq ipped with
permanently l bricated, maintenance-free motor.
Never try to l bricate the compressor.
2. Reg larly clean d st and dirt from compressor
cooling fins and motor ho sing.
3. All repairs sho ld be performed by Man fact rer
or Man fact rer a thorized service agencies
only.

year from provided date of purchase. To receive a replacement or for repairs, return the

Returns should be made within the time period and conditions of the retailer’s policy for
exchanges. If you are unable to contact your dealer, contact VIAIR directly for repairs or
replacement at our option.
