Caring for the Environment
Responsible disposal of the packaging
The packaging of your appliance has been selected from
environmentally friendly materials and can usually be recycled. Please
ensure these are disposed of correctly.
Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young
children, please ensure all packaging materials are out of reach and
are safely disposed of. Please ensure they are offered for recycling
rather than throwing these materials away.
Responsible disposal of the appliance
At the end of its working life, do not throw this appliance out with your
household rubbish. An environmentally friendly method of disposal will
ensure that valuable raw materials can be recovered and used again.
Electrical and electronic appliances contain materials and substances
which, if handled or disposed of incorrectly, could be potentially
hazardous on the environment and human health.
Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical
consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately. Contact your local
authorities for advice on recycling facilities in your area.
The plug must be rendered useless and the cable cut off directly behind
the appliance or the machine to prevent misuse.

For your continued safety and to reduce the risk of injury or electric
shock, please follow all the safety precautions listed below.
•Read all the instructions carefully before using this appliance and
keep them for future reference.
•Retain the manual. If you pass the appliance on to a third party,
make sure to include this manual.
•Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated
on the rating label of the appliance.
•Unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use, or
before cleaning any part of the appliance.
•Do not operate any appliance with a damaged mains cable or
mains plug, or in an abnormal state. If the mains cable is damaged
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
•Do not use an extension cable, it may result in fire, electrical shock
and/or personal injuries.
•Do not let the mains cable hang over the edge of the table or
counter, or touch hot surfaces.
•Ensure that the plug is easily accessible to enable disconnection
from the mains supply.
•To disconnect, remove the mains plug from the mains socket. Never
pull the mains cable to remove the mains plug from mains socket.
•Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate
the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the
manufacturer.
•Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage
compartments of the unit, unless they are of the type recommended
by the manufacturer.
•Do not immerse the appliance, mains cable or mains plug in water
or other liquids.
•Keep ventilation openings in the unit enclosure clear of obstructions.
•Do not store volatile or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans
with a flammable propellant, in the unit.
•Stand the appliance on a stable flat surface before use.

•Choose a location for your unit away from heat sources such as
radiators or fires.
•Only use the appliance for its intended domestic use.
•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
•Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
•This appliance is intended for indoor household use and similar
applications such as:
– farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential
type environment;
– bed and breakfast type environment;
– catering and similar non-retail applications.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the unit.
•WARNING: Fill with potable water only.

Items in the Box
Remove all items from the packaging. Retain the packaging. If you
dispose of it please do so according to local regulations.

1. Open the transparent lid and take out the ice basket. Pour
potable water into the water reservoir. Put back the ice basket.
Close the transparent lid.
WARNING. The water poured into the water reservoir should be lower
than the water reservoir’s MAX position.
2. Connect the mains plug. The Power indicator will flash. The unit
is now in standby mode.
3. Press the SELECT button to select the desired ice size. You can
select either small (indicator will light up) or large (indicator will
light up) ice size. The default size is large.
4. Press the POWER button to start. You can press the POWER
button during operation to return the unit to standby mode.
NOTE.
•For the first three cycles, the ice may be small and irregular in
size. This may be due to warm water or ambient temperature.
Use cool water (15°C-20°C) and operate the unit in an ambient
temperature below 25°C.
•When the ice basket is full, remove the ice immediately. Do not
allow the ice basket to overfill.
•When the ADD WATER indicator lights up in red, it means there is
insufficient water in the water reservoir. You need to add enough
water and then press the POWER button to restart.
•When the ICE FULL indicator flashes, it means the ice basket
has reached the maximum storage capacity. Ice will stop being
produced, the machine will automatically restart when the ice has
been removed.

•If you experience a problem with your appliance, check in the
following table for a solution to help you solve the problem. If
after these checks the issue has not been solved, contact Viali
customer care for advice.
•If power failure occurs during an ice making cycle, small ice
chips may form and lodge in the ice shovel causing it to jam. If
this occurs, the ice chips may be removed by disconnecting the
power cord and gently pushing the ice shovel to the rear of the
cabinet and removing the ice chips. When the ice shovel cannot
remove the ice to the ice basket, push the ice shovel gently.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The compressor

Troubleshooting

Unplug the power to

the water tray, then plug
the power and press the

Care and Maintenance
•Before cleaning, unplug the unit and remove the ice cubes. Use
a diluted solution of water and vinegar to clean the inside and
the outside surface of the unit. Do not spray with chemicals or
diluted agents such as acids, gasoline or oil. Rinse thoroughly
before use.
•To ensure cleanness of ice, change the water in the water
reservoir at least once a day. If not using for a long time, drain
all the water and clean the unit.
