1 Introduction
The main feature of the Anuncio are:
Call Queuing, Call Tran fer and Call Stati tic .
There are two PC program available: One to configure the Voice Server
Anuncio over the network and another for the Call Stati tic , to analy e
and produce di play a graphic or numeric chart .
The et up of the Voice Server can be done with the Voice erver
Configuration oftware or on the keyboard on the VS it elf. For more
complex etting however, it i recommended to u e the pecial Voice
erver Configuration oftware. Thi oftware i connected with the
Anuncio through the LAN and i ea y to u e.
The Anuncio i normally connected between the NT (network
termination point) and the PBX. However, the Anuncio can al o operate
" tand alone", connected only to the NTP or behind a PBX on a uitable
ISDN exten ion card.
Voice Server Anuncio i made for ba ic rate (BRI) or primary rate (PRI)
ISDN line . There are three type available a de ktop (BRI only) or 19”
model :
• Voice Server PRI for one E1 line for up to 30 channel
• Voice Server BRI for two S0 line for up to 4 channel
• Voice Server BRI for four S0 line for up to 8 channel
A Voice Server alway ha an internal drive and a network interface.
Thi manual applie to all variation of the Voice Server Anuncio. The
operation i kept almo t the ame between model .
1.1 Basic functions
The Anuncio provide all common announcer ervice u ed in telephone
y tem :
1.1.1 Call Transfer and Call Queue
The Anuncio can tran fer a call to an exten ion. Thi can be automated
and influenced by the chedule or ba ed on the election in the call
attendant menu. When a call i tran ferred thi can be announced with
a poken me age. When tation are bu y the Voice Server can create a
queue of caller waiting to be erved. The caller will be informed about

the progre that he make in the queue. In between he can li ten to
mu ic or poken information.
1.1.2 Call Statistics
A Voice Server i u ually bought to cope with an exi ting problem in the
handling of telephone call . Many problem however are unknown.
Quite often it i unknown how many call remain unan wered and how
they are di tributed over department or time of the day. To come up
with a good olution it i important that you analy e the data of a
certain period, of department , etc.
After in talling the Anuncio it i important to keep track of the call
tati tic . When you create a call queue for example and the caller have
to wait too long in the queue you will loo e them.
1.2 Network
The Anuncio feature an Ethernet interface. It can be connected to a PC
or computer network through the Ethernet interface. With it own IP
addre it will act a an FTP- erver from which file can be downloaded
u ing any FTP client.
The network interface ha many application :
The Anuncio can be configured and controlled from a PC in the
network. For many u er thi will be the preferred way to configure the
Anuncio. Configuration oftware for PC’ with Micro oft Window i
included with the product or can be downloaded from our web ite
www.vidicode.com.
1.3 Pass Through connection s stem
A Voice Server will be connected between the public telephone network
and your telephone y tem. All ISDN channel pa through the internal
bu of the Anuncio and it can take control at any time. Pa Through i
al o occa ionally called In-Line.
A a con equence of the pa through connection the Anuncio can al o
intercept the D-channel and therefore control ignalling between the
telephone y tem and the network. Thi i u ed to filter number ent by
the PBX o that they are not ent to the line.
It can be u ed to capture command from the u er to the recorder which
ha everal application that will be explained in thi manual.
Becau e of pa through mode the Anuncio i equipped with loop-
through relay to prevent di rupting telephone communication in ca e
of a power failure or another malfunction. The loop-through relay then

clo e to fall back into pa ive mode and ongoing telephone call are not
di connected.

2.2 Connecting the power suppl
2.2.1 On the desktop model
The Anuncio de ktop model i only available for the BRI ver ion and i
powered through an AC power adapter. It doe not have an On/Off
witch; the Voice Server i turned on by connecting the power upply.
2.2.2 On the 19” model
U e the upplied main cable. The Anuncio doe not have an On/Off
witch; it i turned on by connecting the power upply.
In ome countrie (Switzerland, Au tralia) no main cable i upplied
becau e it i not available in the country of manufacture (The
Netherland ). Any tandard computer main cable will do.

2.3.1 Connecting to Basic Rate ISDN
The Voice Server BRI i connected in erie between the NT1 line port
and other equipment
Per line you have received a T- plitter a long 8 wire ISDN cable and a
hort 8 wire ISDN cable.
Take the line of your exi ting equipment from the NT1 box and connect
it to the NT port of the plitter.
U e one cable to connect the port labelled “ISDN” on the plitter with
the port labelled ISDN 1 on the Voice Server.
Connect the port of the plitter labelled TE with the NT1 box.
Make the ame connection for the port ISDN 2, 3 and 4.

2.3.2 Connecting to E1 Primar Rate ISDN
The Voice Server PRI i connected in erie to the E1 ISDN line between
the line port and other equipment. With the Voice Server you have
received a cable with two RJ45 connector . Thi cable i u ed to connect
the Voice Server PRI to the wall ocket. The exi ting cable can be u ed to
connect the Voice Server PRI to the PBX a i hown in the figure below.
