UP-009 QuickStartGuide
Thankyoufor purchasingaVilarIPCamera.TheVS-IPC1002 is ahigh
performanceIPCamera.Thecameraprovidesmanyfeaturessuchassteady
networkconnection,powerfulcustomermanagement,compatibilityand
security.Youcanuseitsimpleand convenient.
This guideexplainshowtoinstallthis camerafast.For moredetails, pleaserefer
tothe[UP-009 IPCamera UserManual.doc] onaccessoryCD.
ConnectingtheLAN
ConnectthenetworkcabletotheRJ45 networkconnectionport.
ConnectthepoweradaptertotheIPCamerapowersocketand theninsertthe
plug intoanavailablepoweroutlet.
Startupyour computer,andmakesureitconnectstotheLANsuccessfully.Click
Start>Running,and enter command (for Windows95/98/ME)or “cmd
(for Windows2000/XP). Thenselect OK”andenter ipconfig”,press enter.

Thebasic setting ofyour networkwill beshownasfollow:
Pleaserecordthe IPAddress, SubnetMask,and Default Gateway.You
mightusethis informationtosetyour device.
InserttheaccessoryCDintotheCD-ROM,copyingthe VilarWizard_CN.exe”
whichis greensoftwarefrom theCDtoyour computer.Double-click itonyour
computer.Theinterfaceasfollowwill pup up.

This windowshows usall theIPCamerasinyourLAN.Youcanpress the refresh
buttontogetanewlist.
If therearemanycamerasinyourLAN,youcanlookfor your cameraby
checkingcamera’s serial number”.Theserialnumberis ontheback coverof
this guide.
If your IPCamera’sIPaddress is notasthesamesegmentofyourPC(definedby
IPAddress andNetworkMask), youmaynotbeabletovisityour IPCamera.For
example,Your PC’sIPaddress is 192.168.100.33, networkmask is
255.255.255.0, thenyour PCcanvisittheIPaddress from 192.168.100.1to
192.168.100.255only,If your IPCamera’sIPAddress is notinthis range,you
cannotaccess it.Thereforeyoucanclick [SetupIP]buttontochangeIP
Camera’sIPaddress and adjustitadapting your PCsetting.
Pleasefill intheLANparameterswhichwereyourecordedbeforesuchas
SubnetMask,Default Gateway and IPAddress.Attentionof IPAddress is
thefrontthree sectionsofIPAddress arethesameasyourrecorded,butthe
lastsectionyouhavetoenterthenumberis differentfrom your computer.For
exampleyour PCIPaddress is 10.0.8.69; youcansetyour cameraIPaddress as
10.0.8.210. Youmightneedcontactyour networkadministrator tomakesure
howtosetthelastnumberof your camera IPaddress.
For example:

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10.0.8.1
IPAddress 10.0.8.210
Afterthatclick [ok] andthenentertheadministrator’susernameas admin”
and theadministrator password as 123456”.
Click OK”,thesystemstarting assignanewIP address for your IPcamera.

Click OK”afteryousawthesuccessfully prompt.ThennewIPaddress ofyour
camera hasbeenshownintheinterface.

Selectingthis camera,andclick visit IPCam option,theInternetexplorerwill
connectyour camera automatically.
Aboveinterfacecanbeindicated meansyour IP camerais connecttonetwork
successfully.
Alsoyoucanenteryour cameraIPaddress intotheInternetexplorertoaccess,
suchas http://10.0.8.210
Click the UserZone”button;youwill entertheimageviewinterface.Thelogin
windowwill beindicatedatthefirsttime.

Pleasefill intheadministrator’susernameas admin”andtheadministrator
password as 123456”toenterthewebsite.
WhenyouentertheActiveXmodeatthefirsttime,youmightbepromptedto
install theActiveXcontrol. AfteryousettheIEsecurityoptioncorrectly,youwill
see thefollowdialog box.
Click [Install]tocontinue.If youcannotsee themessageasabove,youhave
tomodifytheInternetExplorersecurityconfiguration.
SettingInternetExplorer(IE)securityconfigurationwill executefollowing
steps:
1. Select[InternetOptions] in[Tools] menu of IE;
2. Switchto[Security] optioncard;
Note: YoucannotdownloadtheActiveXControlwithout
authorizationuntil setupInternetExplorersecurity
configurationproperly.

3. Select[CustomLevel];
4. Setup asthefollowing:
a) Init andRun unmarkedassafetyActiveXcontrols: Select
[Alert];
b) downloading unsigned ActiveXcontrols: Select[Alert];
c) Run ActiveXcontrolsandplug-in: Select[Enable];
5. Click [OK]tosaveit.
InadditiontheIPCamalsocanbea TrustedSites”,thesettingprocess as
follow:
1. Select[InternetOptions] in[Tools] menu of IE;
2. Switchto[Security] optioncard;
3. Select[Trusted Sites];
4. Uncheck √ before ……https:(S) ”;
5. EnterIPCamera’sIPaddress or URL,for example, http://192.168.0.250 or
http://tom.vipcam.cn;
6. Click [Add], [OK]tosaveit.

Theaccess frominternet
Sometimesyoumightneed tovisityour IPcamera from internet.Suchasyou
wanttosee your petswhenyouatoffice.Youcancontrolthehomecamerasend
thepets’videotoyoubyusinginternet.Youhavetodosomeconfigurationsof
yourrouterbeforeyouvisityourcamera frominternet.
Youcamimagetherearemanycamerasandcomputersareconnectingthe
sameinsidenetworkportofrouter.Theroutercangetapublic networkIP
address (suchas202.102.3.11) toconnecttheinternet,howeveritassign
insidenetworkportaddress for eachdeviceasLANIPaddress, suchas
192.168.0.xxx.
Youcanchoosefollowmethodstomodifyrouterconfiguration.Afterthatthe
remoteusercanvisityour IPcamera.
Youcanachievethis goalbyenableReversalNAT(RNAT)functionofIPSharing
Device.
1. VirtualServer”:Manyroutershave VirtualServer”support.Youmust
forward theWAN80 TCPporttoLANIPCamera’sIPand Port.(If youvisit
210.82.13.21’s80 portoutside,youwill beforwardtoLAN192.168.0.2’s80
port).
2. Anothermethod is the DMZ Host”.If enabledtousea LANdeviceasthe
DMZ host,theoutsidePCwill beablevisitthis LANdevicedirectly,asifthere
is noIPSharing Deviceexists. This method supportonly oneLANdevice
exposed totheWAN.Thus, if youhavemoreIPCameras, youhavetouse
theabovemethod.
TheDynamicDomainNameaccess
Thedynamic domainname(DDN)access isusingDDNsystemtomappinga
user’sdynamic IPaddress toasettleddynamic domainnameservice.Itmakes
upofServerprogramandCustomerprogram.TheCustomerprogramsendsthe
dynamic IP address ofhostcomputertoServerprogram,andthentheServer
programupdatethedatanow.AlsotheServerprogramcanprovideasettled
domainnamefor customer.ThenewIPaddress will betiedwiththesettled
domainnametogetherbyServerprogram.Atthis timethedynamic domain
nameservice(DDNS)is done,and your servercanbevisitedbyothers.
ThefunctionofDDNSis achievingtheresolutionbetweendynamic IPaddress
andsettleddomainname.AftergettingthenewIP address, userhastoapply
updatedatafrom DNSeverytime.Whentheuseris online,someonewantsto

visitthis domainnamefrom internet,theDDNserverwill returntothecorrect
IPaddress. TopreventaconfusioncausedbyreusingthesameIPaddress, the
DNShavetostop usethedomainnamewhentheuseris offline.

youcangetback yourpasswordeasierwhenyouforgetyour password.After
thatvisitingyour cameraonyourcomputer,select systemsetting->network
setting”and setthe Dynamicdomainname”option,itshownasfollow:
