To reduce the risk of hazard, users must read through this
handbook first!
You will find safety or danger warning signs on the machine. They are
intended to remind you of your safety during operation. Please do not tear it
down or alter it.
Safety
1) Do not use on graveled surface unless the snow mover is adjusted for such a surface in accordance with
the operator’s manual.
2) Keep Children Away–All visitors should be kept a safe distance from work area.
3) Dress Properly –Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts.
4) Wear rubber boots when operating the snow mover.
5) Operation of the snow mover in the hand-held position is unsafe, except in accordance with the special
instructions for such use provided in the operator’s manual.
6) Warning –To prevent electric shock use only with an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
7) Extension Cords –To prevent disconnection of snow mover cord from the extension cord during
operation,
i) Make a knot as shown in Figure 1-1;
ii) Use one of the plug-receptacle retaining straps or connectors described in this manual.
8) AvoidAccidental Starting–Don’t carry plugged-in snow mover with finger on switch.
Be sure switch is off when plugging in.
9) If cord is damaged in any manner while plugged in, pull extension cord from wall receptacle.
10) Don’t Abuse Cord– Never carry snow mover by cord or yank it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cord
from heat, oil, and sharp edges. (Does not apply to batteryoperated snow movers.)
11) Keep hands away from moving parts.
12) Keep guards in place and in working order.
13) Don’t Force Snow Mover – It will perform better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
14) Don’t Overreach –Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
15) If the snow mover strikes a foreign object follow these steps:
i) Stop snow mover. Release the switch.
ii) Unplug power cord.
iii) Inspect for damage.
iv) Repair any damage before restarting and operating the snow mover.
16) Disconnect snow mover–Disconnect the snow mover from the power supply when not in use, before
servicing, when changing accessories, and the like.
17) Store idle snow movers indoors –When not in use, snow movers should be stored indoors in dry,
locked-up place –out of reach of children.
18) Maintain snow movers with care –Follow instructions for lubricating and changing Accessories.
19) Hand your machine to a licensed serviceman. Replacement if any must be made with the same spare part
to ensure the safety of the machine after repair.

Get to know your machine. Be familiar with main components of the machine (Fig. 1). Get to
know about the application and restrictions of snow thrower and related potential hazards. DON’T do any
operation that doesn’t comply with specific requirements. Violation against it may lead to a danger.

Notes to Operation, Maintenance and Storage
of VEST 1800 Electric Snow Thrower
1. Take out the snow thrower and other items out of the package.
Erect the machine by holding the left and right handrails in the correct position. Check all items for any
damage caused during transportation. Do not assemble it up, if there is any belief or doubt that any part
is missing or damaged and instant contact should be made to the dealer in such case.
2. Inspection. Make sure that the parts package contains all following components: cable clamp-A (3
pcs), cable hanger - B (1 pc), locking lever set –C (4 sets), crank rocker - D (1 set), wearing parts - E,
and brush (1 pair), as shown in Fig. 2.

3. Machine Assembly
3.1 Mount the Chute:
Hand spin to loosen the left and right parts C indicated in Fig. 3-a, flip part A and turn it (over about a
140°angle) to the position as indicated in Fig. 3-b so that part A is locked inside the notch of part B; then
tighten the two-piece part C with a hand until part A is locked up.

3.2 Mount Handrails:

3.2.1 Mount the mid handrail: Take up part B of Fig. 4, make the support sleeve end of the rocker point
upside and insert it into part A of Fig. 4 until bolt holes are aligned; take up saddle bolt of the component as
shown in Fig. 4 and insert it into bolt hole on the handrail from inside; place a saddle washer through the bolt,
mount the locking lever, and rotate to tighten them up. See Fig. 5-a and Fig. 5-b.
3.2.2 Mount the upper handrail: Take up part C of Fig. 4, and pass it through part F as shown in Fig. 4
and then part B of Fig. 4 also in the same manner until bolt holes are aligned; take up the assembly D and
insert the saddle bolt from inside, place a saddle washer through the bolt, mount the locking lever, and rotate
to tighten them up. Make sure these components are reliably connected.
3.3 Mount Cable Clamps: Take part E of Fig. 4 and use the to secure the power cord on sleeves
respectively from the lower handrail to mid and upper handrails as shown in Fig. 5-c.

3.4 Mount the Crank Rocker:

Take part A of Fig. 6-a and insert it into part B on the mid handrail first in a manner as shown in the figure,
and then into connecting sleeve of part C on the lower rocker until two pin roll holes are aligned; insert the
M4 X 20 screw into the pin roll hole as shown in Fig. 6-b, screw on M4 lock nut and tighten up it with a
driver and a wrench.
4. Operations
WARNING: Before machine use, make sure the power source to be used complies
with the detailed specifications as indicated herein. Before the power plug is inserted into the
socket, it is necessary to check if the auger spin rack runs freely.
This machine is designed to get rid of snow on the road and outdoors only.
Machine operations must comply with product safety requirements and given technical parameters.
This machine can’t be used to any purposes other than blowing away snow.
The manufacturer will not be liable for any consequence incurred by use for other purposes than the
intended one.
The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any personal injury or property damage incurred to
the third party due to improper operation of this machine

4.1 External power supply and plug: for your safety, please use outdoor power cord and plug with U.S.
or Europe ratings only.
4.2 To avoid power cord disconnection during operation, please use the cable hanger on the right of the
upper handrail correctly: hang the power cord on the hanger and lead it to the power socket on the machine
as shown in Fig. 7.

WARNING!
Electric shock may cause severe injury or even death; please pay attention to these warnings:
Never have any part of the machine get contacted with the water when it is energized; if the machine
becomes damp, wipe dry before startup.
Don’t use an outdoor power cord exceeding 150 feet (46m).
Rain boots can offer some protection. Don’t stand in the water or touch the machine or any of its inserts
with a wet hand.
4.3 Pay attention to the polarity of the machine power plug. Please use the pin connector of American
(or European) polarity. See Fig. 8

WARNING!
The use of a damaged wire may have the risk of fire, electric shock and sever injury.
Before operation, please check the wire carefully. Don’t use the power line if it is damaged; instead, it should
be repaired and even replaced instantly. If any help is needed, please contact the authorized service center.

4.4 Power On and Off

4.4.1 Power On: Press down the button switch on the right of the switch box; see Fig. 9.
4.4.2 Startup: Grip the startup lever tightly to start the machine. See Fig. 10.
The machine can be started only by pressing down the button switch and then gripping the lever tightly.
Operations in a reverse order can’t start the machine.
4.4.3 Power Off: release the lever.
5. Snow Throwing Works
WARNING:
Foreign matters like gravel, glass cullet, iron nail, wire, or debris may be picked up and
thrown out by the machine, causing severe personal injury. Therefore, it is necessary to
remove all such foreign matters from the work area before operation.
5.1 If the machine takes in any foreign matter or gets jammed during operation, shut down and pull out
the power plug, eliminate jamming and check if any part is damaged. If so, the damaged part should be
repaired or replaced before the machine can be re-started.
5.2 Kids, pets, and standers-by should be kept away from the work place. Be noted: the noise emitted
during machine startup may make it harder for you to hear any person coming up to you.
5.3 The machine can be moved by locating the wheels as the pivots of support, tilting up the front end
of the machine, and moving it forward or backward.
5.4 Pay attention to the wind direction. Throw snow in the same direction of the wind if possible (as
head wind may blow the thrown snow back onto your head and the cleaned road).
5.5 Don’t drag the power line fiercely.
5.6 Don’t push the machine with a thrust. You should move the machine around to get rid of snow
gently with the same force.
5.7 Don’t produce any extra load artificially to the machine, as it may damage the motor.
5.8 In extreme temperature conditions, some components of the machine may get frozen. Don’t try to
run the machine that has been partially frozen. If the machine becomes partially frozen during use, stop the
machine, pull out the extension cord, and check the frozen parts; then wipe clean the unfrozen machine and
re-start it to resume the snow throwing task.

5.9 When the snow throwing task has to be carried out on surfaces having cobbles, gravels, crushed
stones or without pavement, the snow scraping board should maintain a (proper) distance from the cobble or
gravel base by pivoting the wheels and pushing down the lever to raise the machine so that loose matters on
the surface will not be thrown out along with the snow.
5.10 Change the throwing direction and height
WARNING:
Never point the chute toward people, animal, vehicles or doors and windows nearby,
because foreign matters may be unintentionally thrown out along with the snow, therefore
causing serious damages and injury.
5.11 Rotate the crank rocker A and the chute assembly B can be adjusted within a 180-degree range.
When the crank rocker is rotated clockwise, the chute assembly moves anticlockwise, vice versa.

5.12 Adjust chute cap B (part A on top of the chute) to control the throwing height of the machine. See
Fig. 12: loosen the knob C, turn over A to adjust the snow throwing angle, and tighten knob C to lock it up.
5.13 Auto Reset: The machine has an over-current protector with built-in auto reset, which will shut
down the motor automatically in case of screw jamming. In such condition, the motor can be resumed by
release the lever handgrip, pull out the external power plug and waiting for 60 seconds.
6. Maintenance
WARNING:
Make sure that the power switch is off and the external power plug has been pulled out before
any maintenance service is conducted on the machine. Start maintenance or repair only when
the auger comes to a stop.
6.1 Never try to repair the machine on your own. Please contact the authorized dealer for help.
6.2 The lubricant of the machine can be used throughout its life time.
6.3 Before each use, check that set screws and nuts are reliably connected and knobs have proper
tightness so as to ensure a safe working environment for the machine.
6.4 After each use, keep the machine run several minutes to prevent its moving parts getting frozen;
then shut down the motor, wait and rotate the crank rocker several times when all moving parts have come to
a stop to remove residual snow inside the chute; finally, wipe off remaining ice and snow.

7. Storage
7.1 Wipe off dusts from the machine, and service it. The machine may become damaged or failed due to
the lack of maintenance.
7.2 Disconnect the power plug on the machine, and check the extension line for wear or damage; make
replacement in case of any wear or damage.
7.3 Check the machine for any worn, loose or damaged components. Check connections and screw
tightening.
7.4 Store the machine in a dry, clean, enclosed place out of the reach of kids.
ENVIRONMENTALPROTECTIONAND DISPOSAL
Packaging materials are raw materials and can be re-used. Separate the different
packaging materials and take them to a designated waste disposal facility. More
information can be obtained from the appropriate authorities.
Old machines do not belong in your household garbage! Dispose of old machines
appropriately! We are all responsible for the environment. The local authorities can
inform you of collection locations and working hours.
