Remote control
Batteries
• Do not use dierent types of battery together, or mix old and new batteries.
• Do not leave dead or exhausted batteries in the remote control.
• If you do not use the remote control for a long period of time, remove the batteries to
avoid possible damage from battery corrosion.
• If the remote control does not function correctly or the operating range becomes
reduced, replace all batteries with new ones.
Using the remote
1. Direct the remote control at the remote sensor located on the unit.
2. Avoid dropping the remote control or leaving it in an extremely hot or humid area.
3. Keep the remote control away from any liquids or moisture.
4. Only open the back lid to replace the batteries, then push the lid back into place.

Before you connect your audio equipment,
make sure the power is turned o and all
equipment is unplugged from the wall. Then follow
the diagram above.
Connecting your system
1. Connect the cable securely, otherwise the speakers
may have no sound or may not work.
2. Before connecting or disconnecting the cable,
ensure you unplug the AC cord from the wall outlet.
Otherwise it may cause damage to the unit.
3. Select the system (PAL/AUTO/NTSC) of the unit to
match the colour system of your TV. See page 9 for
more on this.
4. You can only have one kind of Audio/Video connection with the TV. In order to
avoid distortion of the picture and sound quality, disconnect the other cables.
5. Do not turn the power on/o continuously. Wait at least 3 seconds every time
you turn the power on/o.

System set-up
1. TV system
Press the "SETUP" key on the remote control to get to
the setup menu screen. Press to switch to the desired
setup page. Press the keys to select the item, then
press to go into the sub-menu. Change the setting and
press the "ENTER" key to conrm. Then press key to
return to the upper level. Finally press the "SETUP" key to
exit. Choose TV SYSTEM and press to open it. And then
change the TV mode to NTSC, PAL or AUTO (see Fig. 1).
2. Screen saver
Choose to have the screen saver "ON" or "OFF" (see Fig. 2).
3. HD output
This function allows you to choose from four high
denition settings: HD OFF, 720P, 1080i, 1080P. The
connection point at the back of the appliance is "HDMI"
(see Fig. 3).
4. Video output
4.1. Select "INTERLACE-YUV" when Y,Cb, Cr are connected
to the TV.
4.2 Select "P-SCAN" when Y, Cb, Cr is connected to
the TV. Press it to cut over to successive scans.
4.3 Select "S-VIDEO" when S-VIDEO is connected to
the TV.
5. TV type
5.1 Normal/PS (Pan Scan, 4:3PS): Display picture is
cropped to t into your TV screen. Either or both
sides of the picture are cut o.
5.2 Normal/LB (Letter Box, 4.3LB): Displays the image
with the masking bars above and below the
picture.
5.3 Wide (16:9): Image will t the whole screen
(see Fig. 4).

6. Password
The password allows you to edit out and control
scenes not suitable for children. If you are using this
feature for the rst time, enter the password option
menu and the default 4-digit password ("0000")
to change the password, rst input, then the new
password. Type the password again to reconrm.
Move the cursor to "OK" and press the "ENTER" key
to exit (see Fig. 5).
NOTE: If you forget the password, use the default
password to reset it.
7. Ratin g
This feature lets you choose what ratings you would
like to allow on the machine. There are eight choices,
ranging from kid safe to adult so you can monitor/
restrict what is viewed (see Fig. 6).
8. Default
Select this option to reset to the factory settings.
Press " " (see Fig. 7).
Language set-up
1. OSD language
Once you have selected this function, press the " "
keys to choose your desired language (see Fig. 8).
2. Audio language
Use the " " keys to choose your audio
frequency language (see Fig. 9).
3. Subtitle language
Use the " " keys to choose the language you want
to use for subtitles (see Fig. 10).
4. Menu language
This allows you to choose the menu language (see Fig. 11).

Audio set-up
Setting structure as follows:
1. Audio out
You can choose between SPDIF/OFF, SPDIF/RAW and
SPDIF/PCM (see Fig. 12).
2. Mic setup
Choose ON or OFF.
3. Key
This function is used for a voice sign, not the
transmitter sign. Use the " " keys to make your
selection (see Fig. 13).
4. Echo
Choose the level.
5. Mic Volume
Choose the volume.
Video set-up
Using the " " keys, select the brightness level,
contrast, hue, saturation and sharpness of your
screen (see Fig. 14 & 15).

Speaker set-up
1. Speaker set-up
DOWN MIX - Choose from three modes of speaker
sound: LT/RT, Stereo and VSS (see Fig. 16).
2. Front
Choose between large and small.
Digital set-up
1. OP MODE
Choose this setting to adjust the line out and RF
(see Fig. 17).
2. DYNAMIC RANGE
Choose this setting to adjust the line out ratio and
get dierent eects (see Fig. 18).
3. DUAL MONO
To set the output format of the left and right
speaker (see Fig. 19).
Stereo: Sound comes from left and right speaker.
Mono L: Sound comes from the left speaker.
Mono R: Sound comes from the right speaker.
Mix Mono: Sound comes from left and
right speaker.
NOTE: Press "SETUP" on the remote control to exit
the system setup.

Basic operation
1. Preparation
Connect the power cord to a 240V~50Hz AC socket and check the cord is rmly connected
to the unit. Press the "POWER" button on the front panel to turn the unit on.
2. Playing back a disc
Press the "EJECT" button and wait for the disc tray to come out. Place the disc on the
disc tray and press "EJECT" again to close the disc tray.
3. Enter
The DVD or CD will play automatically. For DVD, the menu will load onto screen. Press
the " " keys to select the movie/chapters/features and then press "ENTER" to play.
4. Play/Pause
During playback you can select the " " key to pause and again to continue play.
5. Mute
Press the "MUTE" button to turn o the sound. The screen will continue to play normally.
Press "MUTE" or "VOLUME +/-" to turn the sound back on.
6. Volume control
This unit has digital volume control. You can either use the volume knob on the front
panel or use "VOLUME +/-" on the remote control to adjust the volume level.
7. Stand-by
To turn the unit ON and OFF press the "STANDBY" button on the remote control.
8. Menu
If your DVD has a disc menu, press the "MENU" or "TITLE" button to display it. Using the
" " buttons navigate around to the desired setting or item within the menu.
NOTE: If the action is invalid, the TV screen will display "INVALID". Press the correct key
to avoid this.

9. Fast forward "Frequency"
Press the " / FREQ+" button to fast forward a disc at various speeds. Press the " "
button to resume normal playback.
NOTE: Under the Radio mode press this button to search the radio frequency.
10. Rewind "Frequency"
Press the " / FREQ-" button to rewind a disc at various speeds. Press the " " button
to resume normal playback.
11. Next / CH +
Press the " " button to go the next chapter or track.
12. Previous / CH -
Press the " " button to go back a chapter or track.
13. Left/Right channel
When playing DVDs, press the "L/R" button to select between the "Mono Left", "Mono
Right", "Stereo" and "Mix Mono" settings.
14. Go to (Time search)
Press the "GO TO/SCAN" button to display the following;
Playing DVD "__: __: __" Such as 35 minutes, 5 seconds would be "00:35:05".
Press the number buttons to input the desired chapter or time. Then press the "ENTER"
button to go to the desired position.
15. Subtitle
Press the "SUBTITLE" button to display the subtitle language function.
NOTE: This function also depends on the subtitle language available on the DVD disc.
16. Repeat
By pressing the "REPEAT" button you can repeat the content in dierent ways. The
repeat mode changes as follows: DVD title - repeat chapter, title or repeat all and in
VCD/CD title - repeat track or repeat all.

17. Program
Under stop mode, press "PROGRAM" button to select and display the program number.
For example, if you want to see chapter 5 rst, then the chapter 3 after that, you can
press number "5, 3". Then select "PLAY" to playback.
18. Number
When in playback disc mode, press the number keys "1-10" to select the desired track or
chapter. If the desired track or chapter is above 10, press the "10+" button, then "1-10"
buttons. E.g: If the desired track is 16, press "10+" then "6".
19. MP3 Playback function
MP3 is an international standard of mpeg audio player 3, a format of the compressed
audio signal. A recordable CD disc can record approximately 600 minutes or 150 songs
(based on 128Kbps) with sound quality close to CD.
Press the "EJECT" button on the front panel of the unit or on the remote control to open
the disc tray. Put the MP3 disc in and the unit will start loading the le. The screen will
display the les, see image on the right.
Press the " " buttons to move the cursor to the desired folder and press "ENTER" to
open the folder. Move to the desired music le and press
"ENTER" to start playing.
Press the " /CH-" or " /CH+" buttons to play the
previous or next music le under the same directory.
During playback, you can press the " " button to move
to the upper level directory and select a music le from
another sub-directory.
NOTE: When playing an MP3 music le, you can use the
functions MUTE, PAUSE, PREVIOUS and NEXT just
like when playing a CD.

20. JPEG Picture disc playback
Press the "EJECT" button on the front panel of the unit
or on the remote control to open the disc tray. Put the
MP3 disc in and the unit will start loading the le. The
screen will display the les, see image on the right.
Put the JPEG disc into the disc tray, and the les will
load and display. See image on the right.
Press the " " buttons to move to the desired sub-folders and press "ENTER" to
open. Continue until you reach the image you would like to view.
NOTE: You can press the " /CH-" or " /CH+" buttons to select the desired picture.
Some TVs may have a problem displaying the picture, this is not a fault of this
product. This unit only supports les with the extension ".jpg" and "*.jpeg".

DVB-T Operation
NOTE
DVB-T operation is digital TV (DTV). To go to DTV press the "source" button on the
machine and use the " /CH-" or " /CH+" to select DTV. The system will show the
option "the rst time using - installation", which lets you enter the initial setting for the
rst time.
Installation: Using for the rst time
The system will ask you if you want to enter the rst time setting. Press "YES" to continue
or "NO" to quit the rst time installation setting.
Use the direction keys to choose the dierent region and OSD language. After making
a selection, press the "YES" key, then press "NEXT" to enter the next setting, you will
be asked whether you want to search the broadcasting station automatically. Press
"YES" if you want to start the search automatically. The unit will return to the rst TV
station after the full search is complete and save the TV station. Choose "NO" to quit the
installation menu.
If you need to go back to the previous setting, choose "BACK" to return to the last
setting interface.
Pressing "SETUP" will enter the function main menu when in DVB-T mode, pressing
"SETUP" again or "RETURN" will quit the main menu. The main menu includes four
items: CHANNEL GUIDE, SYSTEM CONFIGURATION, INSTALLATION and GAME. When rst
entering the main menu it will go to CHANNEL GUIDE. Use the " " buttons to move
through the dierent channels. The four pages have the following items:
• CHANNEL GUIDE: TV channels, radio channels, channels class, channel edit, book list.
• SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: TV Settings, video settings, audio setting, language, parent
control, time setting and system info.
• INSTALLATION: Auto scan, manual scan and default setup.
• GAME: Box Man, Burning Tetris and Hit Rat.

1. Channel guide
1.1 TV channels
Entering this menu lets you look at the program listing. The number and name of TV
programs on the right are the compressed video programs. Press the " " buttons to
look at the TV programs. Pressing the "OSD" button will enter the program compositor
and drop the little menu on the right, which has ve types; A-Z, Z-A, Free-scramble,
Scramble-free, Transponder.
NOTE: You cannot enter "TV CHANNEL" menu if the menu is not a TV program.
1.2 Radio channels
Enter this menu to view the broadcasting program list on the left side, including the
number and name of the program; on the right is the compressed video program. To
look at the radio programs, press the " " buttons and then press "ENTER" to select
your desired channel. Pressing the "OSD" button will enter the program compositor and
drop the little menu on the right.
1.3 Channel class
Entering this menu lets you edit the program types. Pressing the " " buttons to move
to the position you want to set, then press the "ENTER" button to set it up. Press "A-B" to
enter the TV program list or radio program list.
1.4 Channel edit
Enter this menu to edit the program name. Push the "ENTER" button to choose the
program you want to edit. Use the " " buttons to choose the letter you want to amend,
then press the " " buttons to change the letter you have selected. Press "ENTER" to
conrm and then " " buttons to change the position and move the program name. To
delete, choose the program and choose "DELETE". Pressing the "A-B/TV/RADIO" button
brings up the TV program or radio program list.

2. System conguration
2.1 TV setting
Once in this menu you can choose from TV SYSTEM, VIDEO, TV TYPE and HD OUTPUT.
Use the " " buttons to go through items and to choose dierent settings, then press
"ENTER" to conrm your selection.
• TV SYSTEMS: NTSC, PAL60, PAL, AUTO, VIDEO, TV:RGB, S-VIDEO, P-SCAN-YUV, YcbCR etc.
• TV TYPES: 4:3PS, 4:3LB, 16:9
• HD OUTPUT: HD OFF, 720P, 1080I, 1080P
2.2 Video setting
In this menu you can adjust BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, HUE and SATURATION. Use the "
" buttons to go through items and to choose dierent settings, then press "ENTER" to
conrm your selection.
2.3 Audio setting
In this function under AUDIO OUT use the " " buttons to choose from SPDIF/OFF,
SPDIF/RAW and SPDIP/PCM.
2.4 Language
Choose between the OSD LANGUAGE, SUBTITLE, AUTO LANGUAGE and MENU Language.
Use the " " buttons to go through which language you prefer, then press "ENTER" to
conrm your selection.
2.5 Parent control
In this menu you can choose from CHANGE PIN and CHANNEL LOCK. Use the " "
buttons to select "CHANGE PIN" and push "ENTER" so you can amend your password.
Once you have amended the password, use the " " buttons to select CHANNEL LOCK,
select the program or channel you want to lock and choose LOCK by pressing "ENTER" to
lock this program. To cancel, press "ENTER" again.
2.6 Time setting
This features allows you to have the appliance automatically turn o after setting a
specied time.
2.7 System info
This includes the software update, tuner software edition and system software edition
information.
