Warranty Policy
This camera is under warranty for one full year from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. In case of
defects in materials or workmanship we will, at our discretion, will repair or replace the camera free of charge.
Thiswarrantyappliestothecameraonly.Thiswarrantydoesnotincludebatteries,software, or other accessories
which have not been manufactured by Vivitar. This warranty will not be honored if the camera has been
mishandled, damaged, tampered with, or altered by anyone other than the manufacturer. This warranty is
extended to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Other than for the warranty herein, Vivitar is not
responsible for loss, damage, loss of use, or inconvenience of any kind.
A defective camera returned under warranty must be accompanied by a description of the problem and proof
of purchase with the date of purchase clearly indicated. Prior to returning a product please contact Customer
Service or Technical Support for an RMA(Return MaterialAuthorization) and shipping instructions. All related
transportationcostsandinsurancesareatthe owner’sexpense.Anyalteration of this warrantycannot be made
without the written approval from Vivitar.

general, the V3315 camera and popular accessories. The camera you purchase may deviate somewhat from
the product described herein. Different retailers and dealers will bundle (customize) the product in different

touch, produces a peculiar noise, or exhibits any other abnormal conditions. Operating the camera in
any of these circumstances may cause a fire or an electrical shock. Stop using the camera immediately,

Do not expose the camera to moisture and make sure no water gets into the camera. Take particular

the camera at the beach on near water. Avoid using this camera in places subject to extreme moisture.
Do not use the camera if water has entered the camera. Turn the camera off, remove the batteries, and
disconnect the power source if you are using an AC power adapter. Unplug the adapter from the AC
power outlet after you have disconnected the camera. Contact your dealer or authorized service facility.

Do not touch the power plug during a thunderstorm if you are using the AC power adapter. This may
cause an electrical shock.

Do not insert or drop metallic or other foreign objects into the camera through access points such as the
SD memory card slot. This may cause a fire or an electrical shock.

electrical shock. Internal inspection, and repairs should only be carried out by an authorized service
facility.

Do not use batteries other than those specified for use with your camera. Use of unsuitable
batteriesmayresultinthe batteries splitting, or leaking that may cause afire,injury,orsoiling
ofthe battery compartment.
Whenplacingthebatteriesintothecamera,checkthepolaritymarkingsonthe batteries(- and
+ ) to ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly. Incorrect battery polarity will result in
camera inoperability and may result in the batteries splitting or leaking and causing a fire,
injury, or soiling ofthebatterycompartment.
Removethebatteriesifthecamerawillnotbeusedforanextendedperiodoftime.Thebatteries
may leak and cause a fire, injury or soiling of the battery compartment. If the batteries leak,

Power - Inserting Batteries
1.Slidethebatterycoverinthedirection indicated by the arrow
on the battery cover door
2.InserttwoAAbatterieswiththepolarityas shown:

Donotmixbatterytypes(useonlyonebatterytype at a time) as this may cause poor

Inadditionto saving your imagesininternalmemory,you
mayalso store yourimagesona removablememory
cardknownas an SD (Secure Digital) card.
AnSDmemory card is not included with
thecamerabutbepurchasedatacomputer,
photo,orelectronics store.
To insert anSDmemorycard:
1.Makesure to turn the camera off
2.OpentheBattery/SDmemorycardcoveronthesideofthecamera(page 8)
3.Insertan SD card into thememorycard slot:
* Insertthecardas indicated by the arrow onthememorycard
* The face of the SD card will be towards the camera lens
* Pressthe card until you heara distinctive click
* MakesuretheSD card has fully seated allowingthecoverto be closed

1. Poweronthe camera in any mode. PresstheMENU button. (Page 1/Rear View, item 2)
2.“Setup” will behighlighted. Press OK. The SETUPMENU appears.
3.Pressthe DownArrowbutton(Page 7/Rear View, item 4) tohighlightDATE/TIME. PressOK.
4.Usethearrow buttons to make changes. Press OK tomovetothe next field.
Attaching the Hand Strap
1.Insertthe thin end of thestrapinto the strap holder cutout,
under the metal post
2.Passthe other end of thestrapthrough the loop of
the thin cord and pull the strap tight

* To erase images recorded in the cameras internal memory, do not insert an SD card
* Externalmemory(SDcard)alwayshas priority over internal memory - whenever a memory card
isinserted into the camera thecamera will use thememory card for both captureand playback

Setting Resolution and Image Quality
TheV3315providessixdifferentimageresolutionandqualitysettings:
1280 x 1024 pixels resolutionwith Super Fine , Fine , orEconomy quality
640 x 480 pixels resolution with Super Fine , Fine ,or Economy quality
To change the resolution & quality setting:
1.Poweron the camera
2.PresstheModebutton to select Record Mode
3. Press the “Picture” button (Page 7/top view, item 3) to toggle through the resolution and quality
settings

Flash Modes
Flash Mode can only be set when the camera is in Record Mode. There are four flash modes:
Automatic, Red- Eye Reduction, On (Fill), OFF. The default setting is Automatic. To change the
setting,presstheFlashbuttonrepeatedlyuntilthedesiredmode is selected.
Mode Icon Description
Auto Flash is enabled to automatically activate in low light conditions
Red-Eye Reduction Precursor flash to reduce red-eye effects
Fill-in Flash is always ON (fill flash)
OFF Flash is always off
The Flash Mode selection isretainedevenif the camera isturned off

Formatting an SD Memory Card
To format anSD card:
1.Pressthe Mode button to select theRecordMode: (indicatedby the arrow)
2.Press the Menu button -the RECORD MENU appears
3.Highlight SETUP, Press OK, usethe arrow keys tohighlight FORMATMEDIA
4.SelectYES toreformattheSDmemorycardand all dataonthecardwill be erased
Amemorycard cannot be formatted if it iswrite-protected
OSD (On-Screen Display) Language Selection
To select the OSD language:
1.PresstheMode button to select Record Mode: (indicated by thearrow)
2.Press the Menu button -the RECORD MENU appears
3.Highlight SETUP, press OK;use the arrow keys to highlight LANGUAGE,press OK
4.Usethearrowkeystohighlightthe desired language, press OK
Language preference is retained evenif the camera ispowered off
Self-Timer
Theself-timer can only be setin Record Mode:
To use theSelf-Timer function:
1.PresstheSelf-Timerbutton to activate the Self-Timer(Page7/rearview,item3)
2.Positionthecamera,frameyourshot,andpresstheShutter button
3.In ten seconds, an imageis captured and thetimer will turn itself off
The Self-Timer will count down for ten seconds; for the first seven seconds the indicator
blinks at a relatively slow rate and then blinks rapidly for the last three seconds
White Balance
To select aWhiteBalancepreference:
1.Pressthe Mode button to select Record Mode: (indicatedbythe arrow)
2.Pressthe Menu button. The RECORDMENUappears.
3. Highlight SETUP, Press OK, use the arrow keys to highlight WHITE BALANCE, press OK
4.Selectthedesiredwhitebalancepreference,pressOK
The White Balance setting is reset to AUTOMATIC whenever the camera is powered off

EV Compensation
TheV3315willautomatically adjust the camera shutter speed
fortheproperexposureofeachscene.Occasionally, it is
desirableto manuallyoverridetheautomaticexposure
value(EV)toaccommodate special scene circumstances.
ToinvokeEVcompensation:
1.PresstheMode button to select Record Mode:
2.Pressthe Menu button. The RECORDMENUappears.
3.Use the arrow buttonsto highlight EV COMPENSATION, press OK
4.Usethe arrow buttons to specify thedesiredEV
The EV range is from -1.5 to +1.5 in steps of 0.3 EV
The EV setting is reset to 0.0 whenever the camera is powered off

TheV3315 supports theDPOFsystem. TouseDPOF,youmust useanSDmemory card,asDPOF

willbesavedonthe SD memory card for printing on a DPOF enabledprinter.

5.TheDPOF Sub-menu will be shown with three selections:
PRINT QUANTITY, PRINT SIZE, and ENABLE.
Usearrow buttons to select oneof the items, press OK
PRINT QUANTITY -
* Use the arrow buttons: to specify quantity from 1 to 9
* Press OK to confirm and return to the DPOF Sub-menu
PRINT SIZE -
* Use the arrow buttons: to specify size
*You can specifyPRINTSTD, 3X5, 4X6, 5X7,8x10 (inches)
* Press OK to confirm and return to the DPOF Sub-menu
If your printer only supports DPOF version 1.0, you
must set PRINT STD for the “PRINT SIZE”
ENABLE -
* Usethe arrow buttons: totoggleENABLE or DISABLE
* If youselect “ENABLE” andpress OK, thecamera will savethe settings and
return to the Still-Image PLAY MENU
* Ifyou select “DISABLE” andpress OK, the camera will discard this image’s DPOF setting
and return to the Still-Image PLAY MENU

2.“Setup” will behighlighted. Press OK. The SETUPMENU appears.
3.Pressthe LeftArrowbutton (Page7/RearView, item4)to highlight DATE/TIME.Press OK.
