GTI. Considering it has both defined and
redefined the hot hatch for over 30 years,
it’s no wonder. Fast-forward to today,
and we’ve made this sporty Golf GTI
lower, wider, and faster than ever before.

Less weight.
Performance. Usually, making a vehicle stronger means adding more weight. But with
the Golf GTI, we incorporated ultra-high-strength steel, which is both stronger and
lighter than conventional steel. So going, turning, and stopping are all improved. And
by adding new technologies that help improve handling performance, along with a
wider stance, it’s a stronger performer on the track too.
Sport suspension. This autobahn-tuned suspension separates
the Golf GTI from the rest of the pack. With tighter body control,
the Golf GTI can stay more level in corners and it improves grip,
while still managing to provide a smooth ride.

XDS®Cross Differential System. Brakes are great for stopping.
And now, for turning. That’s why the Golf GTI features the XDS+
Cross Differential System in conjunction with the available VAQ
front limited-slip differential lock, which uses the brakes to help
transfer power to the outside wheel and to improve cornering.
Driving Mode Selection. We all like having choices. With the
standard Driving Mode Selection and available DCC, you can
adjust the steering, engine response, and handling of your Golf
GTI just the way you like it. It’s nice to be in control.

The most powerful engine to ever be found in a
Golf GTI is also lighter and more fuel efficient
than before.* Some might call it magic. We just
call it 30 years of turbocharging experience. Progressive steering. This variable-ratio steering system
provides quick response to driver input at higher speeds, while
making driving easier at lower speeds. Now the only variable
you have to think about is which route you want to take home.
Launch Control. Sometimes, we can all use a little help. And to
help you get going more quickly, the Golf GTI features the
available Launch Control system on DSG® - equipped models to
help put the power down, making the fun go up.**
Performance Package. Some of us are harder to please. That’s
why we’re pleased to offer this available Performance Package,
which adds an additional 10 horsepower (total output of 220 hp),
a torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and high-performance
front and rear brakes with GTI embossed lettering.

engine, which is why we decided to give this one an adrenaline
boost. With the most horsepower and torque of any Golf GTI ever
built for the U.S., and new performance-enhancing technologies, this
hot hatch has performance that’s sure to get your heart pumping too.

Forward Collision Warning. The available Forward Collision
Warning system†can help you detect what’s coming. If you
approach an object too quickly, the system provides visual and
audible warnings. Just another way we’re looking out for you.
Adaptive airbags. Our airbags are designed to adapt to crash
severity, and special sensors in the doors deploy the Side Curtain
Protection®airbags faster in the event of a side impact. We’re
thinking ahead, from every angle.

Automatic Post-Collision Braking System. Not every collision
brings a car to a stop. That’s why we made the Automatic Post-
Collision Braking System. It can help keep your car from moving
after a collision, reducing the chance of any additional impacts.
Seven stability-enhancing systems. Almost every car has
stability control nowadays. But very few car companies go to the
length we do to help you maintain control. Control freaks, rejoice.
Park Distance Control (PDC). Even when you can’t see an object
you’re approaching while parking, the available PDC can, and it
alerts you with beeps so you can tell how close something is to
your car. Sometimes, we all just need a little space.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).The Golf GTI is
sensitive, especially when it comes to its tires. To help stay efficient
and safe, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts you to a loss of
tire pressure so you know when to put more air in.
