Less weight.
Performance. Usually, making a vehicle stronger means adding more weight. But with
the Golf GTI, we incorporated ultra-high-strength steel, which is both stronger and
lighter than conventional steel. So going, turning, and stopping are all improved. And
by adding new technologies that help improve handling performance, along with a
wider stance, it’s a stronger performer on the track too.
Sport suspension. This autobahn-tuned suspension separates
the Golf GTI from the rest of the pack. With tighter body control,
the Golf GTI can stay more level in corners and it improves grip,
while still managing to provide a smooth ride.

XDS®Cross Differential System. Brakes are great for stopping.
And now, for turning. That’s why the Golf GTI features the XDS+
Cross Differential System in conjunction with the available VAQ
front limited-slip differential lock, which uses the brakes to help
transfer power to the outside wheel and to improve cornering.
Driving Mode Selection. We all like having choices. With the
standard Driving Mode Selection and available DCC, you can
adjust the steering, engine response, and handling of your Golf
GTI just the way you like it. It’s nice to be in control.

help you get going more quickly, the Golf GTI features the
available Launch Control system on DSG® - equipped models to
help put the power down, making the fun go up.**
Performance Package. Some of us are harder to please. That’s
why we’re pleased to offer this available Performance Package,
which adds an additional 10 horsepower (total output of 220 hp),
a torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and high-performance
front and rear brakes with GTI embossed lettering.
