Identifying Printer Parts
Unpack the printer and keyboard units and locate on a suitable surface near a mains outlet.
Connect the keyboard & mains adaptor to the printer (
see fig.1
).
Ensure that the thermal tape & ribbon

are installed (
see also Additional Reference pages
sections 4 & 5
).
If you are using die cut tape ensure that the sensor is aligned correctly
(see fig ).
Switch on the printer & the display will illuminate.

Tape Calibration,

tape if you experience
problems.

Adjust guides and install tape
as above
When using die cut tape
ensure the sensor is located
correctly to the tape cut-out

Pull tape through and close hood ensuring it
is locked correctly

Getting Started…Entering a label
Stored within the printer are numerous standard label layouts that you can access, enter text & then
print.
If you have specified a custom designed layout these will be stored in the printer along with the
standard layouts specified when ordered
(samples and the form name will be enclosed).
Ensure the printer is powered on….
Power Button
After pressing the power
button the printer will
start up.
You should now be
prompted to enter the
standalone label
software
Press Y
If you see the screen
below ensure that the
USB keyboard is
correctly connected.
Try pressing the F1
key
to go to Standalone.
Press the ENTER key
to recall a stored label
layout.

Select & highlight the desired
label layout you require by
using the arrow keys (see
attached list for pre loaded
label) and then press the
ENTER key to select.
First Line of the label.
Type the text to be printed on
the designated line and press
the ENTER key to continue.
Depending on the label layout
(number of text lines) keep
entering your text followed by
the ENTER key to continue.
When the final line of the
label layout text has
been entered you will be
prompted for a quantity
of labels to print.
When printing is
complete the display will
return to the
Print Quantity screen.
If you press the ESC key
the display will return to
the first line of the label.
Press ESC again and it will
return to layout / Form
list.

Printhead Open
Printer hood not closed correctly.
Press firmly until an audible click is noted.
Check Media
Out of tape or tape not correctly installed.
Check the label sensor for die cut tape see
fig .
Try a sensor calibration
fig 3.
If using plain tape ensure the sensor is covered by
the tape, locate the sensor centrally.
Check Ribbon
Ribbon in need of replacement or not installed
correctly.
