Preparing for rst use
Unpacking the kitchen mixer
Take the Wartmann®kitchen mixer out of the box and remove all
packaging materials. Position the Wartmann®kitchen mixer near an
electric plug, on a stable horizontal surface, in a place where the
Wartmann®kitchen mixer cannot fall or be knocked over.
Positioning of the cover plate
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer has a chromed cover plate to protect
the accessory socket. The cover plate is kept in its position with a
magnet. With one hand you can simply place the cover plate in its
position. See also point 3 and 4 of the overview drawing.
Placing of the bowl
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer comes with a 5 litre bowl. Place the
bowl on the foot of the pedestal of the Wartmann®kitchen mixer.
Now turn the bowl 90 degrees clockwise until the bowl is locked in its
position. To remove the bowl simply turn it 90 degrees in the opposite
direction and lift it out of the pedestal.
Selecting the proper hook
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer has three attachments:
• Whisk: Use the whisk for beating light ingredients such as eggs,
cream and light dough. Do not use the whisk for dense ingredients,
such as butter and bread dough. This may damage the whisk.
• Flat Beater: Use the at beater for a light dough such as used
for pies, cakes and pastries. The at beater may also be used
for mashing.
• Dough hook: Use the dough hook for a compact dough such as a
bread dough.
Attaching a hook
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer has a usage and a resting position.
EN

In the usage position the top of the kitchen mixer (the motor cover) is
down in a horizontal position. The Wartmann®kitchen mixer is now
ready for use.
In the resting position the top of the kitchen mixer (the motor cover)
points up under a 45 degrees angle. Use this position to easily attach
or detach a hook; the Wartmann® kitchen mixer is now protected
against accidentally switching it on.
Simply change the position of the Wartmann®kitchen mixer
by holding onto the motor cover whilst pressing the release
button on top of the Wartmann®kitchen mixer. Depending
on the starting position:
• Lift the motor cover upwards until
it is under a 45 degrees angle
and a click is heard.
• Lower the motor cover until it is in
the resting position.

The Wartmann®kitchen mixer must be placed in the resting position
to attach a hook.
The whisk, beater or dough hook must be attached to the rotating
spindle of the Wartmann®kitchen mixer. Put the hook on the spindle
and press carefully, then turn the hook 45 degrees clockwise to secure
it in its place. To remove the hook carefully press it upwards and turn
it 45 degrees anti-clockwise to release it from its place.
Placing the splash guard
Place the round part of the splash guard on top of the bowl. The hook
should fall in the middle opening of the splash guard. Now place the
second part of the splash guard above the opening in the round part
with the ll-opening pointing upwards. The sliding strips on the side of
the second part should fall into the slots of the round part.

A properly placed splash guard has a ll-opening that can be used to
ll the bowl with liquids and small ingredients.
Switching the kitchen mixer on
Check that the rotating knob is in the “Off” position. Put the power
plug in a power socket that has an earth wire. The Wartmann® kitchen
mixer is now ready for use.

Using the kitchen mixer
Fill the bowl
It is recommended to attach the required hook before lling the bowl.
Placing the Wartmann®kitchen mixer in the resting position will make
it easier to ll the bowl. After the bowl is lled the motor cover can
be lowered to bring the Wartmann®kitchen mixer back into the
usage position.
Do not overll the bowl. As a rule of thumb the bowl should not be
lled for more than three quarters. Always use the dough hook for
sturdy bread doughs and do not make more than one bread
(800 grams) at a time.
Setting the timer
You may optionally set a timer. Press the Plus key to extend the
required duration, press the Minus key to shorten the required
duration. The duration is adjusted in steps of 30 seconds;
the maximum duration that can be set is 30 minutes.
If no required duration is set, then the clock will show the actual time
that the kitchen mixer in use.
Select the proper speed
The Wartmann® kitchen mixer has multiple speed-settings and a
Pulse function.
To make a foam you will need the whisk and you’ll have to put the
kitchen mixer at a speed setting of 5 or higher. The beating of egg
foam from egg white will take you about three minutes. It will take
about ten minutes to beat a cream.
To mix a light dough you will need the at beater and you’ll have to
put the kitchen mixer in the position Min to 4. It will take about ve
minutes to mix a batter.
For kneading bread dough you will need the dough hook and
you will have to put the kitchen mixer at a speed setting of Min

to 2. It will take about ten minutes to knead a bread dough.
Start the kitchen mixer
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer will only start when it is in the usage
position. The motor cover is in the lowered position.
Simply start the Wartmann® kitchen mixer by turning the rotating
knob from Off to the required speed setting. The speed bar will show
the rotational speed of the kitchen mixer. If you have not set a timer,
then the clock will show the actual duration. The clock will start to
count down when you have set the timer. The kitchen mixer stops
automatically when the required duration has passed. To stop the
kitchen mixer manually, turn the rotary knob back to the Off position.
For a fast spin, turn the knob to the pulse position. The kitchen mixer
will continue to run as long as you hold the knob in this position.
Lifting the motor cover when the motor is running, such as to bring the
Wartmann®kitchen mixer to the resting position, will automatically
stop the motor. To restart the Wartmann®kitchen mixer you will rst
have to turn the rotating knob back to the Off-setting.
NOTICE: Never put the Wartmann®kitchen mixer at the highest
speed when kneading a bread dough. Bread dough should always
be knead at a low speed to avoid damage to the motor.

After use
Cleaning
The bowl and the attachments can be simply cleaned with warm
water and some dish washing liquid after use. The bowl and
attachments are dishwasher-safe. The outside of the Wartmann®
kitchen mixer may be cleaned with a damp microber cloth and soft
soap. Remove the power plug from the socket before cleaning the
outside of the Wartmann®kitchen mixer. Let the Wartmann®kitchen
mixer dry before you using it again.
Storing
Store the Wartmann®kitchen mixer away after the outside, the bowl,
the attachments and the accessories have been cleaned. We advise to
clean the bowl and attachments straight after use to avoid undesired
bacteria growth.
Maintenance
Your Wartmann®kitchen mixer does not require any special care.
The Wartmann®kitchen mixer has a motor with carbon brushes that
last for years at normal consumer use. Once the carbon brushes
are worn out they can be replaced. The replacement of the carbon
brushes must always be done in an authorized service centre.
