IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To prevent personal injury or property damage, read and follow all instructions
and warnings.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed including:
• Read all instructions.
• To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put the motor base in water or
other liquid.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before
cleaning.
• Avoid contact with moving parts.
• DO NOT operate any appliances with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner.
• The use of attachments, including canning jars, not recommended or sold by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
• DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
• DO NOT use appliance for other than intended use.
• Be sure to switch to off position after each use of your blender.
• Blades are sharp. Use extreme caution during assembly, while operating,
disassembly and cleaning.
• Do not use if blades are broken, cracked or loose.
• Always operate blender with lid in place.
• Always hold blending jar while processing for stability.
• Do not leave blender unattended while it is operating.
• Do not remove blending jar from base until the motor has stopped completely.
• Do not use a cracked, chipped or broken blending jar.
• When blending hot liquids, remove lid cap.
• Avoid contacting moving parts.
• To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting assembly blades on motor base
without blending jar properly attached.
• DO NOT put your fingers or other objects into the blender opening while it is in
operation.
• DO NOT plug in until familiar with all the instructions and operating procedures.
• DO NOT unplug from electrical outlet by pulling on the cord. To unplug grasp the
plug, not the cord, and pull.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging from or plugging into an electrical outlet.
• Check blending jar for presence of foreign objects before using.
• The blending jar is designed for use with this appliance only. Do not use the
blending jar provided with this appliance for any other appliance or application.
• Do not place blending jar on hot surface or in a heated oven.
• Use caution when cleaning blending jar with blades assembled. Wipe exterior with
damp cloth, and only rinse interior. If necessary to clean inside of blending jar,
disassemble and clean following the instructions in the assembly and cleaning
sections of this manual.

• Do not use a cracked blending jar or a blending jar having a loose or weakened
cutting blade retainer.
• Do not clean blending jar with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive
materials.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Be sure switch is turned to “OFF” before plugging the cord into wall outlet. Be sure
the appliance contains water before plugging in. Do not leave appliance plugged in
when it is not being used.
• Always unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
• A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Do not use an outlet or extension cord if the plug fits loosely or if the outlet or
extension cord feels hot.
• Do not immerse this appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Longer extension cords are available, but care must be exercised in their use.
While use of an extension cord is not recommended, if you must use one, ensure
that the marked electrical rating of the extension cord is equal to or greater than
that of the appliance. If the plug is of the grounded type, the extension cord must
be a grounding- type 3-wire cord. To avoid pulling, tripping or entanglement,
position the extension cord so that it does not hang over the edge of the counter,
table or other area where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
• Keep cord away from hot parts of the appliance and hot surfaces during operation.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are
older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when
this appliance is used by or near children.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and household or similar
applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas, in shops, offices and other working environments;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- Environment type like: • Farm Houses • Bed and Breakfast.
• Never use this unit near bathtub, shower, wash-hand basins or other containers
with water.
• Never use this appliance near water projections.
• Never use this appliance with the wet hands.
• If, unfortunately the appliance is wet, immediately withdraw the cord of the socket-
outlet.
• This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out
of reach of children.
• Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food or oil, thanks
to refer to the below paragraph "cleaning" in manual.
• Regarding the instructions for the use of accessories, operation times and speed
settings, thanks to refer to the below paragraphs.

• Care shall be taken when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying the bowl
and during cleaning.
• Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories
or approaching parts that move in use.
• This device is not a toy, do not leave small children or people with disabilities to
play with.
• In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags,
boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children . Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding. Accessory parts
may be contained within the packaging material. Before using, wipe the outside of
the blender base with a damp cloth then dry thoroughly. Wash the blending jar, cover,
feeder cap, gasket, and blade base in hot, soapy water. Use caution when washing the
blade base, as the blades are sharp. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Assemble the blending jar. Place the gasket in the blade base, flat side down. Screw
the blade base on to the threads on the bottom of the blending jar.
• A small amount of smoke and/or odor may occur upon use due to the release
of manufacturing oils – this is normal.
• Some minor expansion/contraction sounds may occur during use and cooling
– this is normal.
USING YOUR BLENDER
1. Make sure motor base is unplugged. Place motor base on clean, dry surface.
2. Place the blending jar onto the motor base.
3. Add ingredients to the blending jar and replace the lid. Lock lid in place by turning
clockwise. If blending hot foods, remove the blender feeder cap, otherwise
ensure that feeder cap is locked in to the cover.
4. Plug the cord into a 120 volt, AC outlet only.
5. TO START BLENDING: Choose a speed for blending the ingredients by rotating
speed dial and selecting speed; 1 - low or 2 - high.
6. TO USE PULSE MODE: Pulse allows you to create short bursts of power. To use
the PULSE function, repeatedly rotate and release the speed dial to “P”. The
PULSE function should be used in the initial stages of blending ice and frozen
ingredients for smoothies and other frozen drinks. The PULSE function should
also be used to break apart larger pieces of food or to control the texture of food
when chunkier results are desired. Do not use pulse for anything more than short
bursts. Note: If necessary, use a rubber spatula to push ingredients to be
chopped into liquid portion of recipe ONLY when motor is OFF.
7. Switch to a higher speed if the motor seems to labor when processing to prevent
overloading of the motor. Best results are achieved when some liquid is used
when blending.
8. TO STOP BLENDING: Stop the blending process by turning to the “O" position.
9. Wait until blades stop rotating before removing blending jar. When blending is
complete, unplug the motor base.
HELPFUL HINTS
• Processing hot liquids
• Always cover the lid and feeder cap before blending hot liquid or mixtures.
• Use the feeder cap to add liquids to the container while the unit is running.
• Never stand with your face directly over the container when you are putting
ingredient through the feeder cap.
• Blending Icy mixtures
• Steps for blending ice:
– Pour in liquid, and then add ice, place the cover.
– Pulse 2-3 times
– Set to desired speed
– Chunks of frozen fruit can be added to milk or fruit juice to produce a sherbet or
slush.
– Use the feeder cap to add liquids or ingredients to the container while the unit
is running.
• Always add liquid ingredients to the blending jar first and then add remaining solid
or frozen ingredients. This will prevent excessive wear on the motor and ensure
that the ingredients are properly blended. Do not fill above the MAX Fill Line (48
oz/6 cups).

• To add other ingredients when the blender is operating, remove feeder cap from
lid and add ingredients through opening. Replace feeder cap and lock in place
before processing.
• When chopping dry ingredients such as breadcrumbs, nuts, spices, etc., make
sure that the blending jar and blades are completely dry.
• The pulse speed should be operated in short bursts. As the pulse speed is
activated and released, the blades should stop rotating between pulses.
• Do not attempt to mix or knead heavy dough, mash potatoes, beat egg whites,
grind raw meat, or extract juices from fruits or vegetables. The blender is not made
to perform these tasks.
• Do not over-blend foods. Most ingredients should be properly blended or chopped
in seconds.
• Do not operate motor base for longer than 3 minutes at a time; allow 5 minutes
before running motor again.
• If the motor stalls, turn off and unplug the unit. Remove a portion of the ingredients
before attempting to continue.
• Do not add boiling liquids to the blending jar.
• Cut all firm fruits and vegetables, cooked meats, fish, and seafoods into pieces no
larger than ¾“ (1.8cm) to 1” (2.5cm). Cut all kinds of cheeses into pieces no larger
than ¾” (1.8cm).
• Allow cooked vegetables and broth to cool before pouring into blending jar for
processing.
CLEANING YOUR BLENDER
1. Switch blender to “OFF” position and unplug from electrical outlet.
2. Wash the blending jar, cover, feeder cap, and blade base in warm, soapy water,
rinse, and dry. Be careful of blades in bottom blending jar when washing and
drying. DO NOT WASH ANY PARTS IN THE DISHWASHER.
3. Blender parts are corrosion resistant, sanitary, and easily cleaned. Before first use
and after every use, separate parts and clean thoroughly in warm, soapy water,
rinse and dry well.
4. Wipe blender base, control knob, and cord with a damp cloth or sponge. To
remove stubborn stains, use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Never submerge
motor base in water.
5. Reassemble the blender with lid open to prevent odor.
6. Check all components before reassembly. If the blades are stuck or difficult to
turn, DO NOT USE BLENDER. To check, carefully use a scraper or protective
hand covering to turn the blades in a clockwise direction (opposite edges are
sharp). Blades should turn freely.
7. If the blending jar is chipped or cracked, DO NOT USE BLENDER - further use
could result in the blender jar breaking

PRODUCT WARRANTY
Appliance 1 Year Limited Warranty
West Bend® (“the Company”) warrants this appliance from failures in the material and
workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase with proof of purchase,
provided that the appliance is operated and maintained in conformity with the Instruction
Manual. Any failed part of the appliance will be repaired or replaced without charge at the
Company’s discretion. This warranty applies to indoor household use only.
This warranty does not cover any damage, including discoloration, to any non-stick surface of
the appliance. This warranty is null and void, as determined solely by the Company, if the
appliance is damaged through accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, scratching, or if the
appliance is altered in any way.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, PERFORMANCE, OR
OTHERWISE, WHICH ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY
BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
FORSEEABLE, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION
WITH THIS APPLIANCE.
If you think the appliance has failed or requires service within its warranty period, please
contact the Customer Care Department through our website at www.westbend.com “Support”
-> “Contact Us”. A receipt proving the original purchase date will be required for all warranty
claims, hand written receipts are not accepted. You may also be required to return the
appliance for inspection and evaluation. Return shipping costs are not refundable. The
Company is not responsible for returns lost in transit.

PRÉCAUTIONS IMPORTANTES

• Pour vous protéger des chocs électriques, ne placez pas la base à moteur dans de
l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
• Débranchez l’appareil de la prise lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé, avant d’ajouter ou de retirer
des pièces et avant le nettoyage.
• Évitez tout contact avec les pièces mobiles.
• N’utilisez PAS tout appareil dont le cordon d’alimentation ou la fiche est
endommagé(e), ou une fois qu’il a présenté un défaut de fonctionnement, qu’il est
tombé ou est endommagé de quelque manière que ce soit.

complètement arrêté.
• N’utilisez pas une carafe de mélangeur fendue, ébréchée ou cassée.
• Retirez le capuchon du couvercle pendant le mélange de liquides très chauds.
• Évitez tout contact avec les pièces mobiles.
• Pour réduire le risque de blessure, ne placez jamais les lames du bloc de coupe sur la
base à moteur sans que la carafe de mélangeur soit correctement fixée.
• NE placez PAS vos doigts ou autres objets dans l’ouverture du mélangeur pendant qu’il
est en marche.
• NE branchez PAS l’appareil avant de vous familiariser complètement avec les
instructions et méthodes d’utilisation.
• NE le débranchez PAS de la prise électrique en tirant sur le cordon d’alimentation.
Pour débrancher, saisissez la fiche, non pas le cordon d’alimentation, et tirez.
• Éteignez toutes les commandes avant de débrancher de ou de brancher dans une
prise électrique.
• Vérifiez que la carafe de mélangeur ne contient pas de corps étrangers avant de
l’utiliser.
