ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
POWER SUPPLY CORD
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not t into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a
qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
1. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in
or tripping over a longer cord.
2. If the power supply cord is too short, do not use an extension cord. Have a
qualied electrician or serviceman to install an outlet near the appliance.
3. If it is absolutely necessary to use longer cord sets or an extension cord, extreme
care must be exercised.
a) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord must equal to
or be greater than the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cord should
be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
b) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding type 3-wire cord.
c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop
or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
NOTE: Neither Westinghouse nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to the product or
personal injury resulting from failure to observe the electrical connection procedures.

SET UP & USE
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place your coffee maker on a at,
level surface, such as a countertop.
Plug the unit into a 120 volt 60 Hz
AC-only outlet.
2. 2. Swing open the lter basket.
Insert a cone shape No. 2 lter into
the removable lter basket. Place
the desired amount of ground coffee
into the paper lter. See the chart
below to determine the amount of
coffee to use. Your coffee maker
includes a bonus permanent coffee
lter. You can use this lter just as
you would in place of a paper lter.
To clean, rinse under warm water.
NOTE: · The swing-out lter basket and paper
lter must be inserted correctly so
that the lter basket closes properly.
Ensure that the lter basket is fully
closed prior to starting the brew
cycle.
· We recommend using coffee ground
specically for automatic drip coffee
makers. After using your drip coffee
maker a few times you may adjust
the amount to suit your own taste.
USING YOUR
COFFEE MAKER
PAUSE AND POUR
FEATURE
Your coffee maker has been designed
with a pause and pour feature. If you
wish, at any time during the brewing
cycle, you may temporarily remove the
glass carafe from the unit and pour a
cup of hot coffee. The brewing cycle will
be interrupted and no coffee will drip
from the lter basket. Simply replacing
the carafe on the warming plate will
restart the brewing process.
NOTE: · Do not remove the carafe for longer
than 30 seconds.
Number of Cups Recommended
22 tablespoons
44 tablespoons
66 tablespoons
81/4 cup
10 1/4 cup & 2 tablespoon
12 1/2 cup
3. Fill the glass carafe with cold water
up to the marked level for desired
amount of coffee.
NOTE: · Use only cold water. The automatic
brewing system has been designed
to work only with cold water.Ensure
that the lter basket is fully closed
prior to starting the brew cycle.
4. Empty the water from the carafe
into the water reservoir. Close the
hinged lid. Place the glass carafe
with the lid in place on the warming
plate.
5. Press the power switch button to
“ON” ( I ). The “ON” ( I ) light will
illuminate, indicating that your
coffee maker has begun the brewing
cycle. In a few minutes, your coffee
maker will be nished brewing fresh
coffee.
6. Once the brewing cycle has
completed, please ensure you
manually turn the coffee maker to
the “OFF” ( 0 ) position. This unit
is not equipped with an automatic
shut-off feature, so you will need to
manually turn the unit “OFF”.
NOTE: · Never leave an empty carafe on the
warming plate while still hot.
CLEANING AND CARE
Calcium build-up frequently occurs
in drip coffee makers. This build-up is
quite normal and is caused by minerals
commonly found in drinking water.
Periodically, your drip coffee maker will
need cleaning to remove any calcium or
mineral deposits that may form. You will
know when your coffee maker requires
decalcifying when you notice an obvious
slow down in brewing time.
We recommend decalcifying your drip
coffee maker with a solution of white
vinegar and cold water. A solution of
two tablespoons white vinegar in one
carafe of cold water works best.
Pour the solution into the water
reservoir, then close the hinged lid
and put the empty carafe into place.
Switch the coffee maker on, and allow
the coffee maker to “brew” the vinegar
solution.
When the vinegar solution has nished
brewing, empty the carafe and rinse it
out with clean water. Rell the water
reservoir with cold water only, and run
another “brew” cycle. This will rinse
out any remaining vinegar solution. If
necessary, a second “brew” of water can
be performed.
We strongly recommend decalcifying
your drip coffee maker any time the
brewing time slows down or when you
begin to notice excessive steaming. The
frequency of decalcifying will depend on
the hardness of your water.
Suggested: Soft Water - 80 Brew Cycles
Hard Water - 40 Brew Cycles
DECALCIFYING
Other than the care and cleaning
procedures mentioned in this manual,
no other servicing or maintenance of
this unit is necessary.
Wash the carafe and carafe lid with
warm, soapy water or place in top rack
of the dishwasher.
To remove the lter basket, simply
swing out the lter basket and lift up.
You can remove the lter basket to
discard your used coffee grounds.
Wash the lter basket with warm, soapy
water.
The heating stand may be wiped with a
clean, damp cloth when necessary.
Do not try to clean the inside of the
water reservoir with a cloth because
this will leave a residue of lint and may
clog your drip coffee maker. Just rinse
with cold water periodically.
NOTE: · Be sure to unplug the coffee maker
before cleaning. To protect against
electric shock, do not immerse cord,
plug or coffee maker in water or
other liquid.
