lNeverusestrongpressureonto thescreen orsubjectit to severeimpact,as
theLCD panel couldbecomecrackedandpossibilitycausepersonal injury.If
theLCD panel is broken,nevertouchtheliquidinsidebecausetheliquid
irritates theskin.
lAlthoughtheVMThas passedthetestofIP65 standard forwateranddust
resistance,avoidprolongedexposuretorain orotherconcentratedmoisture.
Suchconditionexceeds theIP65 standard,andcouldresultin waterorother
contaminants enteringinto theVMT.
lUseonlytheoriginal approvedAC/DCAdapterwiththeVMT.Useofan
unapprovedAC/DC Adaptercouldresultin electrical problems,oreven
causeafireorelectrical shockto theuser.
lDo notdisassembletheVMT.Servicingshouldbe done bysupplieronly.Ifthe
VMToraccessories gets damageddueto wronghandlingorunauthorized
repair,warrantyis void. Incasethewarrantyseals arebroken,warrantyis
voidtoo.
lMakeregularlyback-upofall important data.
lUnderno circumstancewill supplierbe liableforanydirect,indirect,
consequential orincidental damages baringoutoftheuseorinabilityto use
thehardwareandsoftwareand/oranydata loss,even ifsupplierhas been
informedaboutthepossibilityofsuchdamages.

BeforeusingtheVMT12,performthebasicprocedureofpoweronthroughthe
followingsteps.
2.3.1Power on the VMT12 withpower adapter
1. ConnectthePowercordto thePoweradapter.
2. Plugin theconnectorofthepoweradapter.
3. Connectthepowercordto apowersource.
4. Press thepowerbuttonto startup.

CAUTION: Please donotremovethepoweradapter from VMT12 after the
devicehasalreadybeenshutdownnormally.Otherwise
non-saveddata will be lost.

2.3.2Operatingsystem installation
1. Connectthepowerto DC/DC adapter,andconnectthepowercordto theDC
powerinlet.
2. Press thepoweronswitchto starttheVMT12.
3. Press “DEL”to entertheCMOSsettingandchecktheBIOSsetup.
4. Youmayinstall yourownO/Sifit is notinstalled.
5. When installingO/SfortheVMT12,pleasefollowthesteps anduseexternal
equipment asKeyboardandMouse.
6. Pleaseuseexternal USBDVD-ROMto runtheO/SandDriversetting(as
pictureshowedbelow).

2.3.3Driver installation
TheVMT12 comeswithaUser’s ManualandDriverCD that containsmostofthe
drivers andutilities ofyourneeds.
1. Followingthestepbysteptoinstall Driver(PleasereferVehicle
TerminalàVMT12àDriver)include:Graphic,Chipset,VGA,Audio,LANand
TouchPanel.
2. Followingthestepbystepto install thedriverofWIFI,BluetoothandWCDMA
ifnecessary

Press thePowerbuttonto turnontheVMT12.IftheVMT12 does notpoweron,
checkthepoweradapterhas been connectednormallyandyoushouldtry again.

2.4.2Configureandcalibratethe touch screen
PenMount touchscreenis themostpopulartouchscreen onthemarket.
Penmount softwaresupportawiderangeofconfiguration.Youcan usethis
softwareto configureandcalibratethetouchscreen.When theoperatingsystem
is started,youcan see theiconof PenmountMonitor in thenotification
area.
