Operating instructions
Starting Your Dryer
Before starting your dryer, be sure laundry ISsorted and loaded
properly (see your”Dryer Guide”) Be sure the door is tightly closed.

Turn the Control Knob either way to
point to the cycle and time setting you
want
The dryer WIII start tumbling when
you push the START Button

To stop the dryer, open the door
(or turn the Control Knob to OFF]
To restart the dryer, close the door,
select cycle, if necessary. and push
START
The Cycle Control Knob should point to an OFF area when the dryer
is not in use. If the dryer is stopped before the cycle is finished, turn the
Cycle Control Knob to an OFF area.

The setting can be changed at any
time by turning the Control Knob to a
new setting

Selecting a Cycle
Dryer cycles are designed forthe proper drying of different kinds of
fabrics. This dryer has 3 cycles:
REGULAR HEAVY-The heat IS off
AIR - No heat. This cycle IS useful
during the last 5 minutes of tum- when drying heat-sensitrve Items or
bling The load IS cooled down for when fluffing pillows and bedding
more comfortable handling or dustrng sheers and curtains

Mixed loads
When drying a load with different
kinds and weights of fabrics, use the
cycle suggested for the lightest fab-
rlcs When the dryer stops, remove
dry Items and reset the control
To help reduce wrinkling, take
the load from the dryer as soon
as tumbling stops. This is very
important for permanent press,
knits and other synthetic
fabrics.

Use these load size recommendations for your compact dryer.
Do not use the load sizes for larger capacity dryers that are listed
in the “Dryer Guide:’

Dryer times will be longer if 208 volt
current is used.
Dryer Models LE4900XT and

rent of 120 volts.
Drying times will be longer than for
dryers that operate on 240 volts.

Optional Installation Accessories
An EXHAUST DEFLECTOR KIT[Part No.
346001) moves dryer exhaust to the
side or up or down.
The dryer can be mounted above
the compact washer with one of the
following kits:
ELECTRIC DRYERS only
DRYER STAND KIT (Part No. 695570),
permanent installation secured to
the wall.
DRYER WALL MOUNT KIT(Part No.
345994), steel bracket secures to wall
and supports the dryer. Wall must be
solidly constructed to support the
dryer. Do not use in mobile homes.
GAS DRYERS
DRYER STAND KIT(Part No. 695570),
permanent installation secured to
the wall.
STACK RACK (Part No. 346721), free-
standing installation.
STACK KITS(Part No. 3390196-
almond, 3390175-white) mount dryer
permanently onto the washer.

we suggest you follow these five steps:
l. Before calling for
assistance...
Performance problems often result
from little things you can find and fix
yourself without tools of any kind
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT RUN:
l Is the power supply cord plugged
into a live circuit with the proper volt-
age?
l Is the door closed tightly?
l Do you push the STARTButton?
l Have you checked your home’s
main fuses or circuit breaker box?
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT HEAT:
l The AIR setting is without heat.
l The last minutes of heat settings are
without heat.

l Is the gas turned on? If not, turn the
Control Knob to OFF. Turn on gas.
Wait 5 minutes. Reset controls and
start.
l An electric dryer uses a circuit
breaker or 2 fuses. If one fuse is
blown, the dryer may run, but not
heat.
IF DRYING TIME SEEMS LONG:
Pull straight
out. Squeeze body;
pull cover off.
l Is the lint screen clean? See page 7
of this book for cleaning instructions.
