INSTALLATION
• The appliance must be handled and installed by
a qualied technician(s). Recommend use of
protective gloves to install.

qualied technician. Do not repair or replace any
part of the appliance unless specically stated in
the user manual. Keep children away from the
installation site. After unpacking the appliance,
make sure that it has not been damaged during

installed, packaging waste (plastic, styrofoam parts
etc.) must be stored out of reach of children - risk of

ENERGY SAVING TIPS
Make the most of your hot plate’s residual heat by switching it o a few
minutes before you nish cooking.
The base of your pot or pan should cover the hot plate completely; a
container that is smaller than the hot plate will cause energy to be wasted.
Cover your pots and pans with tight-tting lids while cooking and use as
little water as possible. Cooking with the lid o will greatly increase energy
consumption.
Use only at-bottomed pots and pans.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Make sure the voltage specied on the data plate located on the bottom of the appliance is the same as that of the home.

FIRST TIME USE
WARNING

POWER MANAGEMENT
At the time of purchase, the hob is set to the maximum possible power.
Adjust the setting concerning the limits of your home's electrical system as
described in the following paragraph.
N.B: Depending on the power selected for the hob, some of the cooking zone
power levels and functions (e.g. boil or fast heating) could be automatically
limited to prevent the selected limit from being exceeded.
To set the power of the hob:
Once you have connected the device to the mains power supply, you can
set the power level within 60seconds.
Press the ”+” button for at least 3seconds. The display shows ”PL”.
Conrm by pressing .
Use the ”+” and ”−” buttons to select the desired power level.
The power levels available are: 2.5 kW – 4.0 kW – 6.0 kW – 7.2 kW.
Conrm by pressing .
The power level selected will stay in the memory even if the power supply
is interrupted.
To change the power level, disconnect the appliance from the mains for at
least 60 seconds, plug it back in, and repeat the above steps.
If an error occurs during the setting sequence, the ”EE” symbol will appear,
and you will hear a beep. If this happens, repeat the operation.
If the error persists, contact the After-Sales Service.
ACOUSTIC SIGNAL ON/OFF
To switch the acoustic signal on/o:
• Connect the hob to the power supply;
• Wait for the switch-on sequence;
• Within 60seconds, press the buttons ”+” and simultaneously for at
least 5seconds.
ACCESSORIES
POTS AND PANS
Only use pots and pans made from ferromagnetic
material which are suitable for use with induction hobs:
• enamelled steel
• cast iron
• special pots and pans in stainless steel, suitable
for induction cooking
Check for the symbol (usually stamped on the bottom) to determine
whether a pot is suitable. A magnet may be used to check whether pots are
magnetic.
The quality and the structure of the pot base can alter cooking performance.
Some indications for the base’s diameter do not correspond to the actual
diameter of the ferromagnetic surface.
Some pots and pans have only a part of the bottom in a ferromagnetic
material, with parts in another material not suitable for induction cooking.
These areas may heat up at dierent levels or lower temperatures. In certain
cases, where the bottom is made mainly of non-ferromagnetic materials, the
hob might not recognise the pan and therefore not switch on the cooking
zone.
To ensure optimum eciency, always use pots and pans with a at bottom
that distributes the heat evenly. If the bottom is uneven, this will aect
power and heat conduction.
NOOK
Empty pots or pots with a thin base
Do not use empty pots or pans when the hob is on. The hob is equipped with
aninternal safetysystemthatconstantlymonitors thetemperature,activating
the “automatic o“ function where high temperatures are detected. When
used with empty pots or pots with thin bases, the temperature may rise very
quickly, and the “automatic o“ function may not be triggered immediately,
damaging the pan or the hob surface. If this occurs, do not touch anything
and wait for all components to cool down.
If any error messages appear, call the service centre.
Minimum diameter of pot/pan base for the dierent cooking areas
To ensure that the hob functions properly, use pots of a suitable minimum
diameter (refer to the drawing below).
Always use the cooking zone that best corresponds to the minimum
diameter of the bottom of the pot.
Place the pot making sure it is well centered on the cooking zone in use.
It is recommended not to use pots that exceed the perimeter of the cooking
zone in use.

ADAPTER FOR POTS/PANS UNSUITABLE FOR INDUCTION
Using this accessory makes it possible to use pots and pans that are not
suitable for induction hobs. It is important to bear in mind that using it
aects eciency and, consequently, the time needed to heat food. Its
use should be limited because the temperatures reached on its surface
depend signicantly on the pot/pan used, its atness and the type of food
being cooked. Using a pot or pan with a smaller diameter than the adapter
disc may cause heat to build up that is not transmitted to the pot or pan,
which could blacken both the hob and the disc. Adapt the diameter of
your pots/pans and the hob to the diameter of the adapter.

SWITCHING THE HOB ON/OFF
To turn the hob on, press the power button for around 1 second.
To turn the hob o, press the same button again, and all cooking zones will
be deactivated.
POSITIONING
Locate the desired cooking zone by referring to the position symbols.
Do not cover the control panel symbols with the cooking pot.
Please note: In the cooking zones close to the control panel, it is advisable to
keep pots and pans inside the markings (taking both the bottom of the pan
and the upper edge into consideration, as this tends to be larger).
This prevents excessive overheating of the keypad. When grilling or frying,
please use the rear cooking zones wherever possible.
ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING COOKING ZONES AND ADJUSTING
POWER LEVELS
To activate the cooking zones:
Select the pre-selected cooking zone by pressing the corresponding zone
selection button. The display will show level ”0”.
Each cooking zone has dierent power levels that can be adjusted using
the ”+”/”−” buttons, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 9.
Some cooking zones have a fast heating function (Booster), shown on the
display with the letter “P“.

To deactivate the cooking zones:
Select the cooking zone to be switched o by pressing the corresponding
zone selection button (a dot will light up on the display, to the power level
indicator's bottom right). Press the “−“ to set the level to “0“.
To switch o immediately, press and hold the zone selection button for
3seconds. The cooking zone is deactivated and the residual heat indicator
”H” appears on the display.
CONTROL PANEL LOCK
To lock the settings and prevent it from accidentally switching on, press and
hold the 6
th
Sense/Key lock button for 3seconds. A beep and a warning
light above the symbol indicate that this function has been activated.
The control panel is locked except for the switching o function ( ). To
unlock the controls, repeat the activation procedure.
TIMER
The timer enables a cooking time to be set for all of the zones.
To activate the timer:
Select and activate the cooking zone for which you wish to set the timer.
Press the button with the clock icon and set the desired time, using the ”+”
and ”−” buttons. The timer LED for the zone in use will be illuminated.
A few seconds after the last touch, the timer will start the countdown and
the dot on the display that indicates that the seconds are passing will ash.
When the set time is up, an acoustic signal will sound and the cooking
zone will switch o automatically.
After selecting the zone and the clock icon, the time can be changed at
any point, and several timers can be activated simultaneously.
The timer always shows the time set for the selected area, or the shortest
remaining time.
When more than one timer is active, the ashing LED indicates the zone for
which the cooking time is visible on the display.
To set the timer for another zone, repeat the above steps.
To deactivate the timer:
Select the cooking zone for which you wish to deactivate the timer.
Press the button with the clock icon ( ) for 3seconds. Alternatively, press
the button with the clock icon and then press and hold the ”−” button until
the display shows ”0:0”.

Place the pot in position and select the cooking zone.

To deactivate the special function and return to manual mode, select the
cooking zone and press the ”6

Sense” button again.
The power level when using special functions is pre-set by the hob and
cannot be modied.
MELTING
This function allows you to bring food to the ideal temperature for
melting and maintain the food condition without the risk of burning.
This method is ideal, as it does not damage delicate foods such as
chocolate and prevents them from sticking to the pot.
KEEP WARM
This feature allows you to keep your food at an ideal temperature, usually
after cooking is complete or reducing liquids very slowly.
Ideal for serving foods at the perfect temperature.

To switch the demo mode on and o:
• Connect the hob to the power supply;
• Wait for the switch-on sequence.
• Within 60seconds, press the cooking zone selection buttons in the top
left and top right simultaneously for at least 3seconds (as shown below);
• ”DE” will show on the display.

INDICATORS
RESIDUAL HEAT
If “H“ appears on the display, this means that the cooking zone is hot. The
indicator lights up even if the zone has not been activated but has been
heated due to the adjacent zones' use or because a hot pot has been
placed on it.
When the cooking zone has cooled down, the ”H” disappears.
POT INCORRECTLY POSITIONED OR MISSING
This symbol appears if the pot is not suitable for induction cooking, is not
positioned correctly or is not of an appropriate size for the cooking zone
selected. If no pot is detected within 30seconds of making the selection,
the cooking zone switches o.

The cooking table oers an example of the cooking type for each power level. The actual delivered power of each power level depends on the cooking
zone dimension.
SIMMERING
This function is ideal for maintaining a simmering temperature, allowing
you to cook food for long periods with no risk of burning.
Ideal for long-cooking recipes (rice, sauces, roasts) with liquid sauces.
BOILING
This function allows you to bring water to the boil and keep it boiling,
with lower energy consumption.
About 2 litres of water (preferably at room temperature) should be placed
in the pan.
In all cases, users are advised to monitor the boiling water closely and
check the amount of water remaining regularly.
If the pots are big and the water quantity is higher than 2 litres, we
recommend using a lid to optimize boiling time.

Important:
• Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads as they may damage
the glass.
• After each use, clean the hob (when it is cool) to remove any deposits
and stains from food residue.
• A surface that is not kept suitably clean may reduce the sensitivity of
control panel buttons.
• Use a scraper only if residues are stuck to the hob. Follow the scraper
manufacturer's instructions to avoid scratching the glass.
• Sugar or foods with high sugar content can damage the hob and must
be immediately removed.
• Salt, sugar and sand could scratch the glass surface.
• Use a soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper or a special hob cleaner (follow
the Manufacturer’s instructions).
• Spills of liquid in the cooking zones can cause the pots to move or vibrate.
• After cleaning the hob, dry thoroughly.
If the iXelium™ logo appears on the glass, the hob has been treated with
iXelium™ technology, an exclusive Whirlpool finish which ensures perfect
cleaning results, as well as keeping the surface of the hob shiny for longer.
To clean iXelium™ hobs, follow these recommendations:
• Use a soft cloth (microbre is best) dampened with water or with
everyday glass cleaning detergent.
• For best results, leave a wet cloth on the glass hob surface for a few
minutes.

TROUBLESHOOTING
• Check that the electricity supply has not been shut o.
• If you are unable to turn the hob o after using it, disconnect it from the
power supply.
• If alphanumeric codes appear on the display when the hob is switched on,
consult the following table for instructions.
Please note: The presence of water, liquid spilled from pots or any objects
resting on any of the hob buttons can accidentally activate or deactivate
the control panel lock function.

These noises actually come from the cookware and are linked to the pan
bottoms' characteristics (for example, when the bottoms are made from
dierent layers of material or are irregular).
These noises may vary according to the type of cookware used and the
amount of food it contains and not the symptom of something wrong.

PRIMER USO

OLLAS Y SARTENES
Utilice solo ollas y sartenes fabricadas con materiales
ferromagnéticos y aptas para placas de inducción :
• ollas y sartenes de acero esmaltado
• ollas y sartenes de hierro fundido
• ollas y sartenes especiales en acero inoxidable
aptas para la cocción por inducción
Para saber si una olla es apta, busque el símbolo (generalmente estampado
en la base). Puede utilizar un imán para comprobar que las ollas sean magnéticas.
La calidad y la estructura del fondo de la olla pueden alterar el rendimiento
de la cocción. Algunas de las indicaciones del diámetro del fondo no se
corresponden con el diámetro real de la supercie ferromagnética.
Algunas ollas y sartenes tienen solo una parte de la base de material
ferromagnético y otras partes de otro material que no es apto para la
cocción por inducción. Estas áreas se pueden calentar a niveles distintos
o con temperaturas más bajas. El algunos casos, si la base está fabricada
con materiales que no son ferromagnéticos la placa podría no reconocer
la sartén y, por tanto, no encender la zona de cocción.
Para garantizar una eciencia óptima, utilice siempre ollas y sartenes
con una base plana con una distribución uniforme del calor. Si la base es
irregular, esto afectará a la potencia y a la conducción del calor.

No utilice ollas o sartenes vacías cuando la placa esté encendida. La placa está
equipada con un sistema interno de seguridad que controla constantemente

la temperatura y activa la función “apagado automático“ cuando se detectan
temperaturas demasiado altas. Si se utiliza con ollas vacías u ollas con base
na, la temperatura podría subir muy rápidamente y la función de “apagado
automático“ podría no iniciarse inmediatamente, dañando la sartén o la
supercie de la placa.
Si esto sucede, no toque nada y espere a que todos los componentes se enfríen.
Si aparece algún mensaje de error, llame al Servicio Postventa.
Diámetro mínimo de la base de la olla/sartén para las distintas zonas de
cocción
Para garantizar el buen funcionamiento de la cocina, utilice ollas de un
diámetro mínimo adecuado (consulte el siguiente dibujo).
Utilice siempre la zona de cocción que mejor corresponda al diámetro
mínimo de la base de la olla.
Coloque la olla bien centrada en la zona de cocción en uso.
Se recomienda no usar ollas que excedan el perímetro de la zona de
cocción en uso.

ADAPTADOR PARA OLLAS/SARTENES NO APTASPARALA INDUCCIÓN
Este accesorio permite utilizar ollas y sartenes que no son aptas para placas
de inducción. Es importante tener en cuenta que su uso afecta a la eciencia
y, por tanto, al tiempo necesario para calentar los alimentos. Su uso debe
ser limitado, ya que las temperaturas alcanzadas en su supercie dependen
considerablemente de la olla/sartén utilizada, de lo plana que sea y del tipo
de alimento que se cocine. El uso de una olla o sartén con un diámetro menor
al del disco del adaptador puede provocar que el calor que no se transmite
a la olla o sartén se acumule y manche de color negro tanto la placa como el
disco. Adapte el diámetro de sus ollas/sartenes y de la placa al diámetro del
adaptador.

ADVERTENCIA
POWER MANAGEMENT  GESTIÓN DE POTENCIA
En el momento de la compra, la placa está ajustada en la máxima potencia
posible. Ajuste la conguración de acuerdo con las limitaciones del sistema
eléctrico de su hogar según se describe en el párrafo siguiente.
Nota: En función de la potencia seleccionada para la placa, es posible que
se limiten automáticamente algunos niveles de potencia y funciones de la
zona de cocción (p. ej. ebullición o recalentamiento automático). Esto es así
para evitar que se supere el límite seleccionado.
Para congurar la potencia de la placa:
Una vez conectado el aparato a la red eléctrica, puede congurar el nivel de
potencia durante los siguientes 60segundos.
Mantenga pulsado el botón “+“ durante al menos 3segundos. En la pantalla
se mostrará el símbolo “PL“.
Pulse el botón para conrmar.
Utilice los botones “+“ y “−“ para seleccionar el nivel de potencia deseado.
Están disponibles los siguientes niveles de potencia: 2,5 kW – 4,0 kW –
6,0 kW – 7,2 kW.
Conrme pulsando .
El nivel de potencia seleccionado se guardará en la memoria aunque se
interrumpa el suministro eléctrico.
Para cambiar el nivel de potencia, desconecte el aparato de la red eléctrica
durante al menos 60segundos y luego vuelva a conectarlo y repita los pasos
anteriores.
Si se produce un error durante la secuencia de conguración, se mostrará el
símbolo “EE“ y oirá una señal acústica. Si esto sucede, repita la operación.
Si se repite el error, póngase en contacto con el Servicio Postventa.
APAGAR/ENCENDER LA SEÑAL ACÚSTICA
Para encender/apagar la señal acústica:
• Conecte la placa a la alimentación eléctrica;
• Espere la secuencia de encendido;
• En 60segundos, pulse los botones “+“ y a la vez durante al menos
5segundos.
