FABRIC FRESHENER SAFETY
You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't
immediately follow instructions.
You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't
follow instructions.
All safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and tell you
what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
Your safety and the safety of others are very important.
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all
safety messages.
This is the safety alert symbol.
This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others.
All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word “DANGER” or
“WARNING.” These words mean:
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using the appliance, follow basic precautions,
including the following:
WARNING:
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
■
Read all instructions before using the appliance.
■
Do not use in garages or use near any flammable
liquids or gases.
■
Use appliance only for its intended use.
■
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse
the appliance in water or other liquids.
■
Never yank the cord to disconnect from outlet; instead
grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
■
Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let appliance
cool completely before putting away. When storing
appliance, loop cord around cord storage wrap on
back of appliance.
■
Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if
the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble
or attempt to repair the appliance. Take it to a qualified
service person for examination and repair. Incorrect
reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric
shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used.
■
Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used
by or near children.
■
Burns could occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water,
or steam. Use care when you turn a steam appliance upside
down - there may be hot water in the reservoir.
■
To reduce the likelihood of circuit overload, do not operate
another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.
■
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a
polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do
not change the plug in any way.
■
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 12-ampere
rated cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage
may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so
that the cord cannot be pulled or tripped over.
■
Always disconnect appliance from electrical outlet when filling
with water, emptying, and when not in use.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Location Requirements
The Fabric Freshener will require an area large enough to set up
the Fabric Freshener and to load.
Installation Clearances
Minimum clearances
Sides and back of the Fabric Freshener
■0" (0 cm) clearance is acceptable.
Front of the Fabric Freshener
■12"(30.48 cm) clearance is recommended.
Electrical Requirements
Electrical Connection
To properly install your Fabric Freshener, you must determine the
type of electrical connection you will be using and follow the
instructions provided for it here.
■The Fabric Freshener should be connected to a 120 volt,
60 Hz, 15- or 20-amp fused 2 prong polarized outlet.
■Electrical consumption: at $0.04 (approximate) per cycle,
150 cycles per year = $6 per year (approximate). Usage and
costs may vary.
■The Fabric Freshener uses just under ¹⁄₂ kwh. Maximum amp
draw is limited to 80% of a 15-amp circuit, or 12 amps, at
120 volts. 80% is equal to 1,440 watts of 1,800 watts
available on a 15-amp circuit. If house wiring is less than
120 volts, available wattages may be lower. Usage and costs
may vary.
WARNING

Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as
gasoline, away from fabric freshener.
Place fabric freshener at least 18 inches (46 cm) above
the floor for a garage installation.
