This document contains useful information about how to operate
and take care of your washer in a safe way. Please read this

WASHER SAFETY
Your safety and the safety of others is very important
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey
all the safety messages.
This is the safety alert symbol.
This symbol alerts you from potential hazards that can kill you and others. All safety messages
will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word “DANGER” or “WARNING”. These words
mean:
You can be killed or seriously injured if you don’t immediately follow
instructions.

All safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and tell
you what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ADVERTENCIA: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using the washer, follow basic precautions, including
the following:
Read all instructions before using the washer.
Do not wash articles that have been previously cleaned in,
washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry cleaning
solvents, other flammable or explosive substances as they
give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
Do not add gasoline, dry cleaning solvents, or other flammable
or explosive substances to the wash water. These substances

Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a
hot water system that has not been used for 2 weeks or more.
HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has
not been used for such a period, before using the wash
machine, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow
from each for several minutes. This will release any
accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not
smoke or use an open flame during this time.
This appliance is not designed to be used by users with
reduced physical, sensorial or mental skills (including children)
or with lack of experience or knowledge unless this person is
supervised by another person who is held responsible for
his/her safety.
Do not clean your washer with flammable substances or
liquids.
The small children should be supervised to avoid using the
washer as a toy or playground.
Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close
supervision of children is necessary when the washer is used
near children.
Before the washer is removed from service or discarded,
remove the door or lid.
Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed to
the weather.
Do not reach into the washer if the drum, tub or agitator is
moving.
Do not tamper with controls.
Do not repair or replace any part of the washer or attempt any
service unless specifically recommended in this manual or in
published user-repair instructions that you understand and
have the skills to carry out.
See “Electrical Requirements” for grounding instructions.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or an authorized repair technician.
The brand new hoses included with the washer must be used,
the old used hoses must be discarded to avoid any risks.

WHAT’S NEW UNDER THE LID?
Your new washer will perform in a different way than your previous propeller washer.
HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFICIENCY OF YOUR WASHER?
The maximum efficiency of your washer is reached when the lid is closed. Therefore we recommend you that once the washer has been
loaded with clothes, detergent and other add-ons, close the lid and start the washing cycle.
If you keep the lid open after the cycle has started will modify the preset programming to fill the washer by phases.
IMPORTANT: If once the drum as been filled with water, the lid is still open, the washer will display warning flashing lights on the board
to indicate that the lid must be closed. If the lid has not been closed in the following 10 minutes, the cycle will be cancelled and the water
in the drum will be drained automatically.
AUTO LEVEL SYSTEM
1 SPIN. The basket will spin with the garments inside. The lid is blocked at this moment.
2 DETECT. The washer will detect automatically the size of the load when it’s dry.
3 FILL. The washer will fill the basket according to the optimal water level. The lid will be unlocked at
this moment.
NOTE: We recommend not to add any more items after the Auto Level routine has been completed. The level of water to be
used in the cycle has been selected at this point.
THE FILLING PHASES OF THE WASHER
This is applicable for Xpert cycles only
PHASE 1: AUTOMATIC PREWASH WITH
SPINNING
The drum will be filled with a relatively low
level of water and the wash plate starts
moving to maximize the washing action.
This process contributes to clean your
clothes effectively.
PHASE 2: DEEP WASH
The washer stops and fills the drum until the
selected level. This process helps to settle the
clothes in the basket and avoid tangling. After
this the clothes are ready for the deep wash
spinning.
*The level of filling during each phase will depend on the load size selected.

1 Wash cycle knob
Use the Wash Cycle Knob to select available cycles on your
washer.
AUTOMATIC CYCLES
These cycles allows the user to wash clothes through an
automatic process that includes wash, rinse and spin.
Choose the correct cycle based on the type of clothes
MANUAL CYCLES
The manual cycle wash your clothes and allows the user to
control each phase of the wash manually.
2 Load Size
2.1 For some models equipped with Intelicarga® system, the
washer allows you to accurately adjust the load size in the
washer.
2.2 For models equipped with Auto Level, the water
level will be calculated automaticaly.
Once the cycle has started, the washer door will be
locked and the Auto Level function will start. This routine consists
on basket spinning combined with pauses for at least 1 minute.
Once the routine has been completed, the door will unlock and
the water level will be set. The wash cycle will begin after this.
RECOMMENDATIONS
For better auto water level calculation, add dry clothes.
Do not add more items once the Auto Level function has
been completed. The water level has been set at this point.
3 Temperature
Select a wash temperature based on the type of fabric and soils
being washed. For best results and following the garment label
instructions, use the warmest wash water safe for your fabric.
The rinse is always done with cold water.
4 Soil Level
The soil level (wash time) it’s preset for each wash cycle. For
heavily soiled clothes, select the level “Intenso” (Intense). For less
soiled clothes select “Ligero” (Light).
5 Soak
The washer will start the Soak stage once the selected fill level
has been reached. Use this option to remove dirt stains
impregnated in clothing. The washer will soak during the selected
time: 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours.
NOTE: You can also select this option using the button: "Select
Washing Stages" (Selección Etapas de Lavado) (See section
"How to Add soak to an automatic cycle").
5 Additional soak
This option can be used to automatically to add a second soak to
most cycles.
7 Delay start
Selecting this option will delay the start of the cycle. You can
choose between 1 - 12 hours, at 1-hour intervals according to
your preference.
If you want to cancel the selection, press the Delay start button
until the Remaining Cycle Time indicator displays "0". Wait a few
seconds for the Cycle time to appear in the display.
8 Indicator lights during the wash cycle
When you select a cycle, the display will show the Estimated
Remaining Time on the panel (a number will appear and indicate
if it is hours or minutes).
Factors such as the size of the load, the temperature of the water
during the wash, water pressure, tight loading and/or unbalanced
loads can affect the time displayed on the screen.
The clock-shaped indicator will light up when you select the Delay
Start and Soak options.
The Remaining Estimated Time will be displayed, according to
the option chosen, according to the following hierarchy:
1. Delay Start
2. Soaking
3. Cycle Time (including Additional Rinse, in case you selected
this).

7 Start/Pause (Inicio/Pausa) button
Press this button to start the selected cycle; press the button one
more time to pause the cycle and unlock the lid during the Drain
cycle or Spinning. (see How to Cancel a cycle).
When pressing the Start/Pause button, the washer equipped with
Auto Level will start the detection routine and will continue with
the Filling stage about a minute after.
NOTE: If the washer is draining or spinning, it may take a few
minutes for the lid to unlock.
10 Indicator lights during the wash cycle
The Cycle Status Lights shows the progress of a cycle. At each
stage of the process, you may notice sounds or pauses that are
different from traditional washers.
When the START/PAUSE button is pressed, the washer will start
filling the water.
NOTE: The maximum efficiency of your washer is reached when
the lid is closed
The washer will then move the load briefly, pause to allow water
to soak in to the load, and resume adding water.
This process may repeat until the correct amount of water has
been added to the load.
SOAK
The washer will start this portion of the cycle once the drum is
filled with the selected level of water. Soaking helps to remove
tough stains.
WASH
Low-water cleaning means concentrated cleaning. Rather than
diluting detergent as done in an agitator-style washer, this washer
delivers the detergent directly to the soils. The motor sounds may
change at different stages in the cycle.
RINSE
You will hear sounds similar to the wash cycle as the washer
rinses and moves the load.
DRAIN/SPIN
The washer spins the load at increasing speeds for proper water
removal.
DONE
This light will turn on once the cycle is complete. Remove the
clothes from the washer for better results.
LID
This light indicates that the lid is locked and cannot be opened.
If you need to open the lid, press START/PAUSE. The lid will
unlock once the washer movement has stopped. Close the lid.
Press START/Pause again to resume the cycle.
NOTE: This may take several minutes if the load was spinning at
high speed.

11 Manual selection of the washing stages
This option allows you to select a manual cycle (one or more
stages of the selected automatic cycle) or even add a Soak to the
selected cycle.
HOW TO ADD SOAK TO AN AUTOMATIC CYCLE
- Turn the knob to the automatic cycle that you want to select.
- Push the button Select the washing stages.
- You will notice that the Soak light turn on.
- Select the desired cycle.
- Press the Start/Pause (Inicio/Pausa) to start the cycle.
NOTE:
In this option the duration of soaking is predetermined at 1
hour. If you want to change the duration, use the "Soaking"
button your console.
If you want to cancel this option, before starting the cycle,
Press the "Selected Washing Stages" button until the
soaking option is off and the lights are displayed in the
following manner:

- Select the desired cycle until the desired stages have been
selected.

For best fabric care, choose the cycle that best fits the load being washed.
Not all cycles and options are available on all models.

SOAK Depends on the automatic cycle and
the selected options Use this cycle to soak small stains. The washer will soak and wash intermittently. When the soak time is done, the washer won’t drain the water
for 12 hours while the washer lid is closed. If the lid is open the washer will
drain the water after 10 minutes.
WASH Depends on the automatic cycle and
the selected options Use this cycle when only the washing stage is required. The washer will fill the water on stages and then will proceed to wash. Once this stage is done,
the Done light will turn ON. When the wash time is done, the washer won’t
drain the water for 12 hours while the washer lid is closed. If the lid is open
the washer will drain the water after 10 minutes.
RINSE
DRAIN/SPIN Depends on the automatic cycle and
the selected options This cycle combines Rinse and Spin at high speed. The cycle is designed to add fabric softener at the dispenser since the beginning of the cycle.
DRAIN / SPIN Depends on the automatic cycle and
the selected options This cycle uses a Spin cycle to cut the dry heavy clothes faster or for delicate hand wash clothes. Use this cycle to complete your cycle after a
power outage.

WARNING
Fire hazard
Never place ítems in the washer that are dampened with gasoline
or other flammable fluids.
No washer can completely remove oil.
Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it
(including cooking oil)
Doing so can result in death, explosion or fire.
1. Sort and prepare your laundry
Empty pockets. Loose change, buttons, or any small object
can pass under the wash plate and become trapped, causing
unexpected sounds.
Sort items by recommended cycle, water temperature, and
colorfastness.
Separate heavily soiled items from lightly soiled.
Separate delicate items from sturdy fabrics.
Do not dry garments if stains remain after washing, because
heat can set stains into fabric.
Treat stains promptly.
Close zippers, fasten hooks, tie strings and sashes, and
remove non-washable trim and ornaments.
Mend rips and tears to avoid further damage to items during
washing.
NEVER TRY TO WASH WATER RESISTANT PRODUCTS

Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire
or electrical shock.
Helpful Tips:
When washing water-proof or water-resistant items, load
evenly.
Use mesh garment bags to help avoid tangling when
washing delicate or small items.
Turn knits inside out to avoid pilling. Separate lint-takers from
lint-givers. Synthetics, knits, and corduroy fabrics will pick up
lint from towels, rugs, and chenille fabrics.
NOTE: Always read and follow fabric care label instructions to
avoid damage to your garments.
2. Add detergent
Liquid detergent: Add the liquid detergent at the bottom of the
basket before loading the washer. Or
Powder detergent: Add a measure of powder detergent in the
detergent bin. If you are planning to use an enhancer product like
Oxi or color care chlorine bleach, then add it at this point at the
bottom of the basket before loading the clothes.
IMPORTANT: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to determine
the amount of detergent to use.

3. Add liquid chlorine bleach to dispenser
3.1 Pour a measured amount of fabric softener into the tray.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions to use the correct
amount of fabric softener depending on the size of the load. Close
the dispenser drawer.
IMPORTANT: Do not overfill or dilute. Overfilling the dispenser
may cause the fabric softener to immediately pour into the
washer. It is normal for a small amount to remain in the dispenser
at the end of the cycle
3.2 For models without dispenser, add a measure of liquid fabric
softener to the agitator tank. Always follow the manufacturer's
instructions to use the correct quantity of fabric softener
depending on the size of the load.
Dilute the liquid fabric softener by filling the tank with Warm water
until the liquid reaches the bottom of the edge. See the arrow on
the maximum fill line
If you want to add the softener manually
During the final rinse, wait until the washing machine has finished
filling.
Lift the lid and add the recommended amount of liquid softener
diluted in 1/2 cup to 1 cup (125 ml to 260 ml) of warm water. Do
not pour fabric softener directly onto garments and avoid
splashing the items in the basket.
Do not use more than the recommended amount. Close the cover
to continue the cycle.
IMPORTANT: If you leave the lid open for more than 10 minutes,
the washer will drain and the cycle will be canceled.
4. Add liquid chlorine to the dispenser
Do not overfill, dilute, or use more than 1 cup (250 mL). Do not
use color-safe bleach or Oxi products in the same cycle with
liquid chlorine bleach.
5. Load laundry into washer
Load garments in loose heaps evenly around basket wall. For
best results, do not load higher than the recommended maximum
load height. Do not wrap large items such as sheets around the
wash plate; load them in loose piles around the sides of the
basket. Try mixing different sized items to reduce tangling.
IMPORTANT: Do not overload or force items into washer.
Items need to move freely. Overloading can lead to poor cleaning
performance, and may increase wrinkling and tangling.
6. Select a cycle
Turn the cycle knob to select the wash cycle. To see more
information, please read the “Cycle Guide” section.

7. Select the load size
Choose the load size that best fit the amount of clothes that you
want to wash. Follow the load size indicator in the basket
(Intelicarga).
The setting CH from the load size control will add less water for
small loads. The XG option will add more water for big loads or
bulky garments. The items must be able to move freely inside of
the basket.
For models with Auto Level, the washer
will calculate the load size automatically.
See page 6 for more details.
8. Select the cycle options
Once you select a cycle, the preset options for this cycle will turn
ON. Press the buttons to change the cycle options; Load size
(some models), temperature, soil level, Soak, Additional rinse
and/or Delayed Start.
NOTE: Always read and follow fabric care label instructions to
avoid damage to your garments.

9. Close the lid
IMPORTANT: When the washer has finished the filling part of the
cycle and the lid is still open, you will see that the different stage
lights will flash, indicating that you need to close the lid. If the lid
is not closed within 10 minutes, the cycle will be canceled and the
water will be drained automatically.
10.Press START/Pause to begin wash
cycle
Press the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle.
When the cycle has finished, the Done indicator will light.
NOTE: If a manual cycle is required, follow the instructions from
section “MANUAL SELECTION OF THE WASHING STAGES”
Promptly remove garments after cycle has completed to avoid
odor, reduce wrinkling, and rusting of metal hooks, zippers, and
snaps.
Unlocking the lid to add garments:
If you need to open the lid to add 1 or 2 missed garments:
Press START/PAUSE, add items, close the lid and press
START/PAUSE again to continue the cycle.
Unlocking the lid during Drain/Spin cycle:
Press START/PAUSE; the lid will unlock once the washer
movement has stopped. This may take several minutes if the load
was spinning at high speed. Then close lid and press
START/PAUSE again to restart the cycle.
If lid is left open for more than 10 minutes the water will pump out
automatically.
HOW TO CANCEL A CYCLE
Press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 4 to 6 seconds to
cancel the cycle or press START/PAUSE and turn the cycle knob
to Off option, leaving it for 3 seconds.

WASHER MAINTENANCE
WATER INLET HOSES
Replace inlet hoses after 5 years of use to reduce the risk of hose
failure. Periodically inspect and replace inlet hoses if bulges,
kinks, cuts, wear, or leaks are found.
When replacing your inlet hoses, mark the date of replacement on
the label with a permanent marker.
CLEANING YOUR WASHER
Read these instructions before beginning the cleaning process
recommended below. This procedure of maintaining your washer
should be carried out at least once a month or each 30 wash
cycles, whichever comes first, to control the levels of dirt and
detergents that may accumulate in your washer.
Cleaning the washer interior
Cleaning the washer with afresh (some models)
This washing machine has a special cycle that uses high volumes
of water that in combination with the affresh washing machine
cleaner or chlorine bleach removes waste detergent, mold and
sediment that could accumulate inside the washing machines.
Keep your washer as clean and fresh as your clothes.
To keep washer interior odor-free, follow this recommended
monthly cleaning procedure:
1. Make sure the washer is empty.
2. Using recommended AFFRESH®washer cleaner, add one
tablet to washer drum or add 1 cup (250 mL) to the liquid
chlorine bleach dispenser.
IMPORTANT: Do not add detergent to the cleaning cycle with
afresh. Do not use more than recommended amount of bleach to
avoid damaging product over time.
3. Close washer lid.
4. Select Cleaning Using afresh (for some models) or Select the
cycle for Whites, Hot temperature and load size XG.
5. Press START/PAUSE button to start cycle.
NOTE: For best results, do not interrupt cycle. If cycle must be
interrupted, if it’s mandatory to interrupt the cycle:
1. Pause the cycle.
2. Cancel the cycle and follow the next steps: Press and hold
the START/Pause button from 4 to 6 seconds to cancel the
cycle or press the START/Pause button and set the cycle
knob to Off for 3 seconds.
After the cycle has been interrupted, it is recommended to
run a rinse cycle (See selection of Manual stages) to remove
residual chlorine or affresh that may remain in the basket.
Cleaning your dispenser tray
1. Remove the dispenser drawer. To remove, open the drawer
completely and slightly pull upwards.
CLEANING YOUR WASHER (continued)
1. Remove the siphon from the dispenser compartment for
fabric softener, pull upwards.
2. Rinse the dispenser and siphon under a stream of warm
water, wipe with a damp cloth to remove liquid fabric softener
residue and / or detergent, and then replace the fabric
softener siphon in place.
3. Clean the box where the dispenser drawer rests by wiping
with a damp cloth to remove detergent and/or softener.
4. Position the dispatcher drawer by pushing it slightly into the
box where it rests.
Cleaning the chlorine bleach tray
Clean the inside of the tray using a damp clean cloth.
Cleaning the fabric softener tray
(Applicable only for models with fabric softener dispenser on the
impeller)
Pull container out, grab the upper side of the tray with your hands
and squeeze while you lift up slightly using your thumbs.

2. Rinse the tray with warm water, wipe with a damp cloth to
remove liquid fabric softener residue, and then replace
NOTE: To avoid damage the washer or your clothes, never
operate the washer without the tray installed.
To clean interior:
Clean the impeller and the basket ring using a damp clean cloth.
To clean exterior:
1. Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge to wipe up any spills.
2. Use all-purpose surface cleaner, if needed.
IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the washer’s finish, do not use
abrasive products.
NON-USE AND VACATION CARE
Operate your washer only when you are home.
If moving, or not using your washer for a period of time, follow
these steps:
1. Unplug or disconnect power to washer.
2. Turn off water supply to washer, to avoid flooding due to
water pressure surge.
WINTER STORAGE CARE
IMPORTANT: To avoid damage, install and store washer where
it will not freeze. Because some water may stay in hoses, freezing
can damage washer. If storing or moving during freezing weather,
winterize your washer.
To winterize washer:
1. Shut off both water faucets, disconnect and drain water inlet
hoses.
2. Put 1 qt. (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze in basket and run
washer on RINSE AND SPIN cycle for about 30 seconds to
mix antifreeze and remaining water.
3. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
TRANSPORTING YOUR WASHER
1. Shut off both water faucets. Disconnect and drain water inlet
hoses.
2. If washer will be moved during freezing weather, follow the
“Winter storage care”directions before moving.
3. Disconnect drain from drain system and drain any remaining
water into a pan or bucket. Disconnect drain hose from back
of washer.
4. Unplug power cord.
5. Place inlet hoses and drain hose inside washer basket.
6. Drape power cord over edge and into washer basket.
7. Place packing tray from original shipping materials back
inside washer. If you do not have packing tray, place heavy
blankets or towels into basket opening. Close lid and place
tape over lid and down front of washer. Keep lid taped until
washer is placed in new location.
REINSTALLING/USING WASHER AGAIN
To reinstall washer after non-use, vacation, winter storage or
moving:
1. Refer to Installation Instructions to locate, level, and connect
washer.
2. Before using again, run washer through the following
recommended procedure:
To use washer again:
1. Flush water pipes and hoses. Reconnect water inlet hoses.
Turn on both water faucets.
WARNING
Electrical shock hazard
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire
or electrical shock.
2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
3. Run washer through the Color clothes cycle to clean washer
and remove antifreeze, if used. Use half the manufacturer’s
recommended amount for a medium-size load.

(19 mm) piece of plywood under your washer will reduce sound.

Load could be unbalanced. Load dry items in loose heaps evenly around basket wall.
Adding wet items to washer or adding more water to basket could unbalance
washer.
Do not overload. Load smaller loads.
Do not pack the washer. Avoid washing single items.

Noises
Clicking or metallic
noises Objects caught in washer drain system. Empty pockets before washing. Loose items such as coins could fall between basket and tub or may block pump.
It may be necessary to call for service to remove items.
It is normal to hear metal items on clothing such as metal snaps, buckles, or
zippers touch against the stainless steel basket.
Gurgling or humming Washer may be draining
water. It is normal to hear the pump making a continuous humming sound with periodic gurgling or surging as final amounts of water are removed during the
spin/drain cycles.
Humming Detection light is on. It is possible that the humming is caused by the detection spinning after the
washer has been started. This is normal.
Water Leaks
Check the following for
proper installation: Washer not level. Water may splash off basket if washer is not level. Check that load is not unbalanced or overloaded.
Fill hoses not attached
tightly. Tighten fill-hose connection.
Fill hose washers Are all four fill hose flat washers properly seated?
Drain hose connection Pull drain hose from washer cabinet and properly secure it to drain pipe or
laundry tub.
Do not place tape over drain opening.
Check household plumbing
for leaks or clogged sink or
drain
Water can backup out of a clogged sink or drainpipe. Check all household
plumbing for leaks (laundry tubs, drain pipe, water pipes, and faucets.)
Washer not loaded properly. Improper loading can cause basket to be out of alignment and cause water to
splash off tub. See “Getting Started” for loading instructions.

Always measure and follow detergent directions for your load. To remove
extra suds, select Drain & Spin. Do not add detergent.
Dry spots on load
after cycle High speed spins extract more moisture than
traditional top-load washers.
The high spin speeds combined with air flow during the final spin can cause
items near the top of the load to develop dry spots during the final spin. This is
normal.
Incorrect or wrong
wash or rinse
temperatures
Check for proper water
supply. Are hot and cold inlet hoses reversed?
Both hoses must be attached to both washer and faucet, and have both hot
and cold water flowing to inlet valve.
Check that inlet valve screens are not clogged.
Remove any kinks in hoses.
Energy saving controlled
wash temperatures. Energy Star washers use cooler wash and rinse water temperatures than your previous washer. This includes cooler hot and warm washes.
Load not rinsed Check for proper water
supply. Are hot and cold inlet hoses reversed?
Both hoses must be attached and have water flowing to the inlet valve.
Both hot and cold water faucets must be on.
Inlet valve screens on washer may be clogged.
Remove any kinks in the inlet hose.
