Whirlwind connect EDB-1 User manual

OUTPUT
A male
XLR
provides a balanced
low
impedance signal
for
connection
to
balanced, low-Z equipment (mixing console, workstation,
etc.)
PAD
Most instruments
will
operate properly when set
to
the
"0"
position.
Set
to
the "-20dB" position
for
use
with
very
"hot"
instrument
signals. Set
to
"-40"
when connecting
to
the speaker output
of
an
amplifier.
GND/LIFT
Disconnects the ground between the
input
and
the
XLR
output when
set
to
the
LIFT
position
to
help eliminate hum. Ground remains
connected when set
to
the
GND
position.
IN
For input
of
the
signal from
the
source. The source may be
the
output
of
any type
of
musical instrument
or
amplifier speaker
output.
WARNING!
In
speaker mode, the
EDB1
does not supply
the
proper amplifier load required by most tube type amplifiers.
Do
not
use
a tube amplifier's speaker output alone
with
the
EDB1.
You
must
also have a speaker
or
appropriate dummy load connected
to
avoid
possible damage
to
the
amplifier.

input
for
connecting
to
an
amplifier
or
powered
monitor.
This product is warranted
to
be free
of
defects
in
materials
or
workmanship
to
the
original purchaser
for
a period
of
90
days
from
the date
of
purchase.

IN: For input of the signal from the source. The source may be the output of any type of musical
instrument or amplifier speaker output. (WARNING! In speaker mode, the EDB-1 does not supply the proper
amplifier load required by most tube type amplifiers. Do not use a tube amplifier’s speaker output alone with the EDB-1.
You must also have a speaker or appropriate dummy load connected to avoid possible damage to the amplifier.
OUT A “Y” connection or “loop through” from the input.
OUTPUT:A male XLR, provides a balanced low impedance (150 Ohms) signal for connection to
balanced, low-Z equipment (mixing console, workstation, etc.)
PAD:Most instruments will operate properly when set to the “0” position. Set to the “-20dB”
position for use with very “hot” instrument signals. Set to “-40” or when connecting to the
speaker output of an amplifier.
