RECOMMENDATIONS
• Read this manual before attempting to
assemble, install, or operate this product.
WiFiRangerTM recommends the installation of
this equipment be done by a professional
technician familiar with the vehicle in which it’s
installed.
•WiFiRangerTM recommends wiring directly to a
fused electrical panel or box. However, if
you’re wiring to the battery, please note that
batteries may expel explosive gases when not
properly ventilated. Special care and
consideration is required. Consult your
vehicle manufacturer for more information on
safely installing electronic accessories.
• Save these instructions.
• Do not mount closer than 24 inches from the
edge of the roof or any adjacent rooftop
appliance/device.
• Do not paint any portion of the ConvergeTM
system as it could compromise performance
and/or void the warranty.
• When first setting up the ConvergeTM system,
it’s recommended that you check for software
updates once the system is connected to a
safe internet source.
• Consult your LTE Carrier’s data plan contract
for coverage areas, limitations, etc.
• After you’ve successfully connected your
ConvergeTMsystem, register your product at
mywifiranger.com.

▼ROOFTOP INSTALLATION ▼
1. Find a spot to mount your outdoor router
system (Fin) that is at least 24” from any other
rooftop appliance or obstruction."This location
should be as close to the centerline of the RV
as possible and as level as possible. The Fin
will function better with more clearance in all
directions.
2. Mark the location where you will be mounting
the Fin and the location where the TetherPointTM
POE cable exits from the bottom of the Fin."
Ensure that the WiFiRanger embossed logo is
facing towards the front of the RV (Fin-always-
faces-forward)."
3. Trace and drill a hole in the vehicle roof where
the cable exits underneath or from the rear of
the Fin."Alternately, you can route the cable
inside your RV through a window, entry vent,
or other spot if you don’t want to drill a hole in
your roof.""
4. Route the cable through the newly drilled hole
or alternate entry method and to the location
where you’ll wire the system's power."See
Interior Installation (next page) for further
instructions to power your unit.
5. Thoroughly clean off the roof area where you
will be mounting the Fin, ensuring full
adhesion.
6. Once the cable is appropriately routed to the
inside of the RV, seal the hole around the cable
with sealant.
7. Mount the Fin to the roof using either screws/
sealant or sealant only. If using screws/
sealant, drill pilot holes then snug screws with
dabs of sealant. If using sealant only, apply
sealant on entire base of Fin for maximal
adhesion (only use RV manufacturer’s
recommend sealant).

WIRING DIAGRAM
Indoor & Outdoor Converge Routers
WARNING: The vehicle’s power supply must be turned off before attempting to connect any cables. Do NOT attempt to place
any fuses, splicers, or other modifications on the TetherPoint cable. Make sure there are no bare wires or wire strands after
making connections. Failure to properly install wiring for your unit(s) could cause the unit(s) to fail or even result in an electrical
fire or other damage to your RV. Hiring a licensed professional to complete the installation is always recommended. LinOra
Corporation (DBA WiFiRanger) does not guarantee expressly or implicitly, nor take on any legal responsibility and any
responsibility about the correctness, the exhaustiveness or the usefulness of any information in this MANUAL, as well as its
usage.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
A. Pairing of Indoor & Outdoor Routers Depends on Cabling
It is vital to plug the yellow ethernet cable of the TetherPoint cable into the
correct port on the indoor Converge router. The correct port varies by your
indoor Converge router model. Reference the diagram below to ensure the
yellow ethernet cable is plugged in correctly.
B. DC Power Recommended Due to Constancy
Although AC power works, it can be intermittent or interrupted in many vehicles.
As such, DC power is recommended as it provides increased reliability and
uptime for your routers.
C. Modify Diagram if Installing Standalone Outdoor Router
Ignore the Y-Splitter Cable and Indoor Router if just powering up a standalone
outdoor Converge router. Simply power the outdoor router by plugging in either
DC or AC power to the TetherPoint Cable without the Y-Splitter Cable.

▼LTE CELLULAR SETUP ▼
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
A. Data Plan Availability Varies by Region
Some cellular Carriers offer certain data plans by region. As such,
you may find that the data plan that you desire is available through
a cellular reseller or representative in another area while your local
representative has more limited options. Check around or call a
representative in another region if you can’t find what you want
locally.
B. SIM Card Type May Affect Data Plan Options
WiFiRangerTM provides desirable SIM card types for typical
consumer data plans. However, there are differing types of SIM
cards, some focused on consumer data plans and others on
business data plans. It is important to ask your cellular Carrier if the
SIM card you provide them is the right type for the desired plan.
C. Ease of Device Activation Varies by Reseller / Carrier
In some cases it can be difficult to activate the WiFiRangerTM LTE
modem and SIM card depending on the representative you speak
with. Some representatives work for a cellular reseller that does not
have the offerings you desire or you may need a more
knowledgeable representative to handle your request. Ask different
cellular stores, resellers, or a direct Carrier representative until you
find the right person to activate your modem and SIM card on the
desired plan.
D. Data Plan Pricing Depends on Your Cellular Account
In large part, the price of data plans for the LTE modem are
affected by your cellular account type and other data plan(s) on
your account. In some cases, the WiFiRangerTM LTE modem will
require having a data-only plan that is separate from the data plan
attached to your smartphones or other devices. Checking with
your Carrier on costs will help you to understand how the Carrier
will handle the WiFiRangerTM LTE modem pricing and data amounts
available.
E. WiFiRanger Modems Support Specific Cellular Bands
The following Cellular bands are currently supported by
WiFiRangerTM modems:
B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B25, B26, B29, B30, B66, and B71*
If you are considering changing your Carrier, be sure to check that
the new Carrier supports the bands listed above. Please make
sure to properly sync all of the needed information between your
cellular Carrier and the WiFiRangerTM LTE modem (i.e. your APN,
SIM number, and Data Plan).
*Supported bands vary by modem.
ACCESSING CELLULAR SETTINGS
1. Power up the WiFiRangerTM system with embedded LTE modem(s)
2. Connect over ethernet or wirelessly to the WiFiRanger’sTM network

SETTING AN APN
If you are unable to connect to the internet using the WiFiRangerTM modem
even though your data plan is active, then there may be an issue with the
modem’s APN. An APN is a password used by the modem for authenticating
with your cellular Carrier. To change the APN, follow the steps below:
1. Follow steps for “Accessing Cellular Settings"
2. Enter correct APN into the APN field (unique APN on your Cellular
account or default APN shown in the table below)
