Remember always:
-pack or re-pack it according to the instructions given in this manual,
-use the correct procedure when deploying the reserve, and
-care for and maintain your reserve and your flying equipment according to the instruc-
tions given in this manual.
> warnings and obligations
The WINDSOs cube is a rescue system for paragliding pilots who are in an emergency and
never for the practice of free fall, base jump or take off on the slope.
We must make it clear that, to fly paragliding it is necessary to have passed an initiation
course and have assimilated all the concepts of flight to avoid accidents.
The paragliding flight involves a risk, either due to the pilot's own recklessness or due to
adverse weather conditions, which in the worst case can cause accidents or that we have
to use our WINDSOs cube emergency system.
Windtech is not responsible, in any way, for losses or injuries, derived directly or indi-
rectly from the use or misuse of its products.
> manufacturing and materials
The great experience accumulated during more than 25 years testing and innovating,
always in search of better quality and safety, leads us to always use the most appropri-
ate materials in the different structural parts of the WINDSOs cube.
Its materials are a balance of resistance-performance-lightness that give it exceptional
performance.
Fabric - PN9 NCV reduced permeability. Reinforcements - Single 15mm-10mm
polyamide. Lines A 6798-150-001 Braided ropes.

> certification
The WINDSOs cube has been certified according to the EN12491 standard. Therefore, it is
a guarantee for the user, both at the level of aerodynamic behavior, as at the level of
structural resistance. In these tests the opening, the stability, the rate of fall (this will
never be higher than 5.5 m/s) and its structural resistance are quantified.
SPEED WARNING. NOT SUITABLE OF USE IN EXCESS OF 32 M/S (If strenght test
5.3.5.1 has been passed, which is the case). In case strength test 5.3.5.2 was passed
it is not suitable for speed in excess of 49 m/s. The parachute is loaded with a Dummy
with which the maximum load in flight of the set is reached. Through a protocol and the
use of a helicopter in flight at a high speed, a maximum impact is achieved, at the
moment of opening at a high speed. No breakage or sign of deterioration should show
the parachute after the whole process.
Deployment system warning: This parachute has been tested and found compliant
using the original manufacturer’s inner container. Use of any other inner container
may produce different results, including failures. The speed of opening and opening
schock test has been completed using the inner container supplied. Use of any other

inner container may produce different results (inc. failure) therefore we suggest you
use always the original inner container.
> installation/setup
The WINDSOs cube can be installed in a ventral container or in the usual container of our
harness.
In both cases we must make sure of the correct connection. The cube has only 1 riser.
The WINDSOs cube is not equipped with a delayed opening system nor is it designed for
free fall, so the process will always be: first open the parachute by pulling the handle and
then release off the paraglider in case you need it and never the other way around.
The installation must always be carried out by specialists with extensive experience or in
a parachute inspection, folding and repair center, of course following the instructions in
this manual.
The inner container of the WINDSOs cube is equipped with three possible anchoring points
for the drive handle. One on top, one on the side and one on central part.
It is very important to choose the right one, depending on the location of our WINDSOs
cube. In case of using a ventral container, the most common will be the central anchor
point of the container. We will always check the correct functioning of the parachute
8

once it is installed in the harness or in the container, repeating the process if necessary
to verify that everything works correctly and that it can be removed easily.
WARNING — Use of this parachute with any alternative inner container: the speed of
opening and opening shock test has been completed using the inner container supplied.
Use of any other inner container may produce different results (including failure)
> use
The possibility of having to use our parachute is very remote, but we must be clear about
the protocol to follow in an emergency. It is even highly recommended to carry out prac-
tices in an approved school and always on the water, having all the security measures
(life jacket, radio and support boat, etc.).
We recall that the WINDSOs cube is a "Square" type parachute conceived as a safety sys-
tem for paragliding pilots, who are in an emergency situation and never for the practice
of free fall, base jump or take off on the slope. THIS PARACHUTE IS NOT STEERABLE.
In case of use we must be clear how to do it. Once the parachute has been extracted
from its outer container or from its compartment in the harness (by acting with a stong
and firm pull on the handle) we will find the parachute hanging from our hand inside its
inner container - the next and essential step, to achieve a rapid opening, is to energeti-
cally launch the package in the opposite direction to our direction and always avoiding
throwing it against our paraglider. If we simply drop it, it will cause a more delayed open-
ing, which in case of being close to the ground can be vital.
It is very important to prevent the WINDSOs cube from getting caught in the glider, and
this will depend on the circumstances of the emergency. If it happens when the paragli-
der is collapsed or with an cravatte, we must be careful if we release the quick-release
carabiners, because the easiest thing is to release one first than the other and this makes
one side of the paraglider rise and may get tangled in the WINDSOs cube . In this case it
is always better not to release the carabiners but to pull the two brake lines fully and
collect lines until reaching the main node of the brake lines. With this we will leave the
paraglider “dead” and we can pick it up or release it later.
> checking and folding
At least once a year, our WINDSOs cube must be open and folded again, to prevent wear-
ing and possible static electricity from slowing down the opening of our parachute.
Duration of the cube: 10 years
The revision and folding of our WINDSOs cube must always be carried out at Windtech or,
failing that, at a specialized center of recognized solvency, carried out by professionals.
It is vitally important, for the correct functioning of the WINDSOs cube, that the folding
follow the indications in this manual.

Extend the parachute and place all the panels neatly from 1 to 8 on the Cube 100 and
from 1 to 12 on the Cube 120.
Attach the sling to something solid that does not move and separate the left and right
side lines from the main webbing leaving the four center lines in between. Make sure the
lines are not tangled by separating them with your fingers while adding a little tension.
Fold the panels, starting from the upper right corner or vice versa. When placing the fab-
10

ric pannels make sure that the lines are in the center and place the extended panels as
flat as possible. The lines must
be one on top of the other. Keep the order in the pannels.
Repeat the process for the other half. Use tweezers or weights to keep the pannels from
moving.
The panel with the valves should come out right in the middle. Place this pannel fully
extended and without messing up the lines
Make sure the bottom of the pannels are mounted without any protruding or crease.
Zigzag half of the canopy. You will need to give it 3 1/2 folds to match the width of the
Cube container. Once this is done, you must turn that folded half over together with the

Install the zig-zg folded package in the container and fold the flaps closed. You can use
an object (pencil, etc.) to block the rubber bandwhile closing the flaps of the container.
Once installed, you must now secure the lines with elastic bands (do not use old or dete-
riorated rubber bands and put new rubber bands each time you fold the parachute). Make
three folds the width of the container and use a support if necessary to make the skeins.
They should be about 20 cm wide and forming 8 shape alternating the direction of rota-
tion. Once the lines are stored there should be 90 cm to the main sling which allows the
parachute to be removed without undoing the line packing.
Remove the pencil or whatever was used to block the elastic band and now block it with
the lines. There should be about three fingers of lines sticking out of the rubber to block
teh package
Now you have the Cube ready to be installed on the harness or in an front container.
> storage.
Store WINDSOs cube in a dry place, away from chemicals, ultraviolet light and high tem-
peratures. If your equipment is damp, open it up and let it dry. Always keep the fabric
and lines of your chute clean, as dirt or different chemical agents can damage them. If
necessary, clean it only with water and a soft sponge. This must be done if our equip-
ment was in contact with salt water. Avoid contact with oils, solvents and the like, they
would significantly damage their materials. Life span of this parachute is 10 years.
In case you need a spare parts (rubbers, main bridle, lines) please contact Windtech
to make the order of them.

> advertencias y obligaciones
