Setting Up
Handling
• Use suitable means to move the a liance: eg. A lift truck or fork allet trucks (the forks should
reach more than halfway beneath the a liance).
Site Pre aration
• Ensure the site is level and ro erly cleaned.
• The Salamander is to be laced on a suitable bench or workto , at a comfortable working height. (850mm
– 900mm)
• Ensure the Salamander is laced on a level, stable work surface, away from other heat, water or grease
emitting devices.
• Allow an air ga between the machine and other objects or surfaces. We recommend a minimum ga of
100mm for normal o erational use (if the machine is near any heat sensitive material we suggest you
allow additional s ace). Please consult national and local standards to ensure that your machine is
ositioned in accordance with any existing requirement.
• The toaster is su lied with 4 rubber feet to reduce sli .
Un acking
• Check the machine for damage before, during and after un acking. If machine is damaged, contact the
dealer. Should any item have hysical damage, re ort the details to the freight com any and to the agent
res onsible for the des atch within seven (7) days of recei t. No claims will be acce ted or rocessed
after this eriod.
• Wear rotective gloves to un ack the a liance from the box.
• The unit is su lied fully assembled.
• Remove all rotective lastic film, ta es, ties and ackers before installing and o erating. Clean
off any glue residue left over from the rotective lastic film.
• Wi e all surfaces with a clean, sanitised cloth.
First Time O eration
• Rea the complete instruction manual before procee ing.
• Plug the unit into a ower source. Ensure the electrical cable is not damaged and does not hang over the
counter, and the “ON/OFF” button is set to the “OFF” osition.
• Your toaster is ready to use.

Electrical Connection
WARNING!
This machine must be installe in accor ance with AS/NZS 60335.1
Information
• The electrical su ly shall com ly with the rating late data.
• The Salamander is su lied with a 15Am lug and lead
• Ensure that machine is connected to a ower oint with com atible ower rating.
• The machine must be lugged directly into the ower outlet. The use of extension leads or ower boards
are not to be used.
• The equi ment should be earthed according to local electrical codes to revent the ossibility of electrical
shock. It requires an earthed rece tacle with se arate electrical lines, rotected by fuses or circuit
breaker of the ro er rating.
• If the su ly cord is damaged, it MUST be re laced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified ersons in order to avoid a hazard. Power cable cannot be stretched kinked, ressed, during
normal o eration, service or anytime
WARNING!
Some proce ures in this manual require the power to the equipment to be turne off an
isolate . Turn the power OFF at the power point an unplug the power supply lea by the
plug bo y. If the power point is not rea ily accessible turn the equipment off at the isolation
switch or the circuit breaker in the switchboar . Attach a yellow “CAUTION-DO NOT
OPERATE” tag. This must be performe where relevant unless the proce ures specify
otherwise.

Operation
General Recommen ations
When using any electrical a liance, safety recautions should always be observed.
Our a liances have been designed to give high erformance. Hence, the a liance must be used exclusively for
the ur ose for which it has been designed.
Read these instrucitons carefully and retain for future reference
• All units MUST be installed according to the rocedures stated in the installation section of this manual.
• This a liance should not be o erated by erson/s (including children) with reduced hysical, sensory or
mental ca abilities, or lack of ex erience or knowledge, unless they have been given su ervision or
instruction concerning the safe use of the a liance by erson/s res onsible for their safety.
• In the case of new ersonnel, training is to be rovided in advance.
• Do NOT use this a liance for any other ur ose than its intended use.
• Do NOT store ex losive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable ro ellant in or near this
a liance.
• The surfaces of this unit are HOT when in o eration. Signage should be dis layed for ersonnel and
customers.
• Kee fingers out of "pinch point" areas. Clearances between the doors, ans and anels are necessarily
small.
• This unit is NOT water roof. Do NOT use jet s rays or hoses to the exterior of the a liance.
• If the ower su ly cord becomes damaged, it must be re laced by the manufacturer, an authorised
service agent or similarly qualified ersons to avoid a hazard.
• Do NOT use machine if ower su ly cord is damaged.
• Be careful not to touch moving arts.
• Do NOT use shar objects to activate controls.
• If any fault is detected, disconnect the unit from the mains and call the service agent.
• Do NOT use the unit in an ex losive atmos here.
• Avoid ex osure to direct heat and/or humidity sources.
• The manufacturer declines any liability for damages to ersons and/or things due and to an
im ro er/wrong and/or unreasonable use of the machine.

WARNING!
The external surfaces of this unit are NOT waterproof, o NOT hose.
CAUTION!
DO NOT spray Stainless Cleaner onto the cooking surface.
NOTE!
Some cleaning agents can amage stainless steel. For this reason we recommen
cleaning with soapy water. Woo son o not take any responsibility for amage
cause by the use of inappropriate cleaning agents.
In some areas, particularly seasi e environments, stainless steel can be subject to
surface iscolouration or “tea staining”. This can be remove with an appropriate
cleaning agent which contains 10% so ium citrate. Ask your supplier of cleaning
chemicals for a suitable bran .
CAUTION!
DO NOT use Steel Wool or other abrasive cleaners.
Operating Instructions
O eration
This salamander has full stainless steel construction and comes with a grilling tray which may be moved to
different levels to obtain the desired cooking conditions. In addition there are multi le thermostat settings. Exact
grilling times and tem eratures vary for different cooking conditions and therefore ex erimentation is essential.
The following basic guide should be followed.
• After Hours Select grilling height by lace the gilling tray in one of the three levels.
• Turn thermostat knob to the desired setting to o erate.
• Return thermostat knob to the “OFF” osition at the end of use.
After Hours
• The unit MUST be switche OFF.
Cleaning Proce ure
As with any toaster there will be a regular build u of crumbs in your machine. Undertake the following rocedure
on a regular basis (daily).
• Slide out the crumb tray and em ty all crumbs and other contaminants.
• Clean the stainless steel crumb tray with warm soa y water and a soft s onge
• Do not use abrasive cleaners (steel wool) as this will damage the roduct
External Surfaces
• Clean the stainless steel and metal arts with warm (not hot) soa y water and a s onge.
• Rinsed the stainless steel and metal arts with clean, fresh water.
• After cleaning, thoroughly wi e the stainless steel and metal arts dry with a soft cloth. Do NOT let water
ool on the unit. Check crevices and folds.

Maintenance
Routines
Schedules
• To maintain o timal erformance, maintenance and cleaning schedules must be regular and thorough.
• The unit should be cleaned at the end of the every work ay.
Log Books
• Log books should be ke t for all cleaning and maintenance of this unit.
Ins ection
• Surfaces should be checked at least once a week for damage or deterioration.
• As art of the maintenance, a qualifie technician MUST check the controls, mechanical arts and
electrical wiring for damage, deterioration or need of adjustment.
Faults
• Not re airing small faults immediately can cause a com lete breakdown. If any small faults occur, have
them attended to rom tly by a qualifie technician.
• All faults should be re orted to the distributor and manufacturer.

Stainless Steel Protection
Cleaning
• For cleaning a stain on the surface of the stainless steel, check the cleaning section of the o eration
manual.
• All metal surfaces should be checked while cleaning for damage, scuffs or sca es as these can lead to rust
and further damage to the roduct.
Corrosion Protection
• Stainless steel exhibits good resistance to corrosion however, if not ro erly maintained stainless steel can
rust.
• Any sign of mild rust or corrosion should be thoroughly cleaned with warm soa y water and dried as soon
as ossible.
• NEVER use abrasive ads or cleaners for cleaning. Do not use Steel Wool.
• Medium rust or corrosion can treated by a commercial cleaning agent that contains
citric/oxalic/nitric/ hos horic acid. Do NOT use cleaning agents with chlorides or other harsh chemicals
as this can cause corrosion. A lemon slice or a few dro s few dro s of lemon juice added to the water can
be used as a substitute. After treatment, wash with warm (not hot) soa y water and dry thoroughly.
• Thoroughly wi e the surfaces dry after cleaning and do NOT let water ool on the unit. Check crevices and
folds for ooling.
• If an abrasive roduct is used while cleaning, thoroughly dry the unit and leave in an o en or oxidised
area for the stainless steel rotective layer to re lenish.
• When using, ensure all liquids and moisture is cleaned u straight away. Food liquids such as juices from
vegetables and fruits should NOT be left on re aration surfaces.
• Do NOT leave items on the stainless steel such as cutting boards, rubber mats and bottles.
Surface Finish
• To rotect the olish, stainless steel should be dried by wi ing a dry soft cloth in the same direction as
grained olish.
• For NON-food contact surfaces, a light oil can be wi ed on the surfaces with a cloth to enhance the
stainless steel surface. Wi e in the direction of the grain.
• Some commercial stainless stain cleaners can leave residue or film on the metal; this may tra fine
articles of food on the surface, thus deeming the surfaces not foo safe.

Water Damage
Information
• Water damage to the electrical and mechanical arts of unit can occur through hosing on or around the
unit.
• Im ro er cleaning of the unit can lead to water damage. Check the cleaning section of the o eration
manual for more information.
• If water damage occurs allow the unit to dry and ensure the unit is checked by a qualifie technician
before switching the unit ON.
• All water damage that is not due to construction or mechanical faults is not covered by warranty.
