Amplifier
CLASS A100D3 is the third
generati n f this
amplifier.
The amplifier is designed t pr vide maximum
s und quality. All inputs and speaker c nnecti ns
are g ld plated and f the highest quality.
A p werful ring-c il transf rmer c ntributes t an
effective p wer supply. F ur p wer utput
transist rs per channel makes it p ssible t handle
high currents. The switching between
inputs/s urces is d ne by g ld plated relays, which
gives a l w dist rti n and a sh rt signal way
thr ugh the amplifier.
The third generati n is n w built by m dules (f r
future devel pment) and has g t a l t f new
c mp nents with impr ved quality.
Class A/Class AB
The amplifier can be switched between class A and
AB. This means y u d n t always have t use class
A m de if n t feasible. There is als an
aut m de
available; if the heat sink temperature exceed
s 55 C
the amplifier selects class AB aut matically. Class A
r AB m de can als be selected with the rem te
c ntr l.
CLASS A MODE
Class A m de increases the
bias current thr ugh
the utput transist rs t achieve the best p ssible
perf rmance. The amplifi
er draws a l t f p wer
even when idling, creating l ts f heat dissipati n
making it very h t.
CLASS AB MODE
Class AB is the standard perating m de am ng
c nventi nal amplifiers. The maximum utput
p wer is radically higher than in Class A m de.
This m
de is suitable when y u want t play l ud
f r l ng peri ds. The risk f verheating is
c nsiderably l wer than with class A perati n.
Class A m de uses a higher n minal
quiescent current thr ugh the utput
stage, which in turn pr duces m re heat
dissipati n. The utput transist rs heat
the c ling sink, and the temperature is
measured by a sens r, feeding the
inf rmati n back t the utput stage, thus
regulating the bias.
Cabinet
The new cabinet, with s fter c rners, is alm st
c mpletely made fr
m s lid aluminium, enhancing
the quality impressi n as well as the mechanical
stiffness.
Outer interference is effectively shielded, and the
alumini
um c ntributes t spreading the heat
generated inside. This impr ves the
heat
dissipati n, c ling f r the amplifier better.
I high precisi n v lume c ntr l maintains a perfect
balance between the channels, regardless f what
level is selected.
The
v lume kn b, input select r and rem te
c ntr l unit are all made fr m aluminium.
Remote control
Class A100 D3 has a newly
devel ped rem te
c ntr l, t adapt it t newer functi ns and make
then handling easier and better.
RIAA
Preamplifier f r MM/MC pick-
up. There is a switch
t change between MM and MC.
MM = m ving magnet ~2-5mV
MC = M ving c il ~0.5mV

Practice of sound / Installation and placement tips
This chapter c ntains c mm n inf rmati n n
l udspeaker placement and installati n.
These are general rules, s there are excepti ns.
In which room do
you achie e the best
sound?
N matter h w g d the equipment is, in the wr ng
listening envir nment it will inevitably s und bad.
There are s me basic rules c ncerning a pr per
l udspeaker installati n:
Reflections
Carpets, curtains and s
ft furniture abs rb mid
range and high frequency s unds
, and this is
n rmally preferable. Big empty areas
, n the
c ntrary, reflect it and pr duce
hard reflecti ns
that may lead t a
blurry dial gue. Apart fr m
c l uring the s und, als the perspective f
the
s und will deteri rate. Reflecti ns in the r m can
r ughly be c mpar
ed t the reflecti ns that cause
gh st pictures n a TV screen.
Amplification of bass
frequencies
A l udspeaker that is placed near a wall, ceiling r
fl r will amplify l we
r frequencies in a s metimes
n t desirable way (since it may lead t
an indistinct
s und repr ducti n
). This amplificati n bec mes
even m re bvi us if the l udspeaker is placed near
a c rner. Thus, f r a s und as clear as p ssible, the
l udspeaker sh uld
be placed at least 30 cm (ab ut
12 inch) away fr m the wall.
S me c nstructi ns are designed t be placed cl se
t a wall.
Furniture
Be aware that furniture may vibrate creating
bad
s und at l ud bass levels.
Room dimension
Quadratic r
ms r r ms where the length is
exactly twice as l ng as the width sh uld be
av ided, since they may create unwanted
res nances.
Cables
Try t keep them as sh rt as p ssible. By its
electrical parameters, a l ng c nduct r will have a
bigger influ
ence n the s und than a sh rt ne. It
may als w rk as an antenna picking up
vari us
signals that may bec me a c nstant n ise in an
active subw fer.
Make sure that all c nnecti ns are clean and n t
xidized. All c nnecti ns sh uld be mechanically
stable
, b th p wer, signal and l udspeaker cables.
Signal cables sh uld be separated fr m ther
cables.

Page: 8 / 14
Front speakers
T achieve the best results
the fr nt speakers
sh uld be placed symmetrically
in fr nt f the
listener. The distance between the fr nt
speakers
sh uld be ab ut
80% f the distance t the listener.
In ther w rds, the rec mmended angle between
the fr nt speakers is 45°.
Finally
Please remember that g d s und is a matter f
taste, s y u have t experiment t btain y ur
fav urite ne. We wish y u best f luck!

Page: 9 / 14
Mounting
Connect with the
correct phase
Always c nnect using the c rrect phase, fr m the
+-p le n the amplifier t the +-
p le n the
l udspeaker and respectively f r the minus (-) p le
If y u by accident c
nnect the ther way,
there is n risk f damage. H wever, the
phase f the signal will be n t c rrect,
resulting in impr per s und.
O erload
With high p wer l ad under l ng time there is risk
f verl ading the driver and/ r the amplifier.
If y u play extremely l u
d f r a l ng time
there is a
risk that y u destr y the
pr duct.
The initial playing
time
Amplifiers d n t generally need any “playing in”
time. Class A amplifiers need a few minutes
in
rder t stabilize the perating temperature.
Class A m de uses a higher n minal
quiescent current thr ugh the utput
stage, which in turn pr duces m re heat
dissipati n. The utput transist rs heat
the c ling sink, and the temperature is
measured by a sens r, feeding the
inf rmati n back t the utput stage, thus
regulating the bias.
The regulati n takes a few minutes bef re
it bec mes c mpletely stable. During this
time high listening v lumes sh uld be
av ided.
