Y201 Combustible Gas Detector Manual
※Before use of this product, please read the instruction manual carefully.
General Instructions
Yeezou 201 combustible gas detector (hereinafter referred to as “detector”) has a high-
performance semiconductor gas sensor with excellent sensitivity, used for detection of leaking
combustible gases such as natural gas or propane in households, factories, hotels, apartments,
and other areas where gas leak localization is desired.
The detector is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). The hand-held portable design allows
you to check for gas leaks almost anywhere. The visual LED and audible alarm notify user of
presence and relative concentration of combustible gases. The varying audible ticking rate and
number of lit LEDs help a user determine the rate of gas leak. The quick response sensor bulb
with varying sensitivity dial allows detection of leaks both large and small.
Important Notes
To avoid damaging the sensor’s molecular membrane from overpressure, never use test gas
sources with directed high pressure (such as from a gas pressure nozzle) to do a gas leak test. We
suggest turning on and off a lighter or gas stove to leave gas in the air, then subsequently moving
the detector probe to the gas area to check functionality.
Test use of ultra-high concentration of combustible gas may reduce usability of the detector and
also lead to a flammable hazard.

Operation
1. Warm up before use in a location with clean & fresh air. Switch the ON/OFF to power on the
detector. The yellow Warm-up Indicator will be lit for approximately 10 seconds; please wait
until light turns off before use. The green Power Indicator will remain on while device is
powered.
Note: Each time the detector is turned on, the device will need to warm-up for 10 seconds prior
to use.
2. After 10 seconds, the yellow Warm-up Indicator will turn off and detector is ready for use. Use
the side dial to adjust the sensitivity until the first, bottom LED is at the threshold of lighting up
and the high frequency ticking just starts to sound. If the knob is already rotated too far to the (+),
the alarm will sound a false alarm once the warm-up process is complete. In this case, rotate the
knob toward the (-) until the first LED is lit or about to be lit to correct sensitivity.
3. Trace the sensor around the source of the suspected leakage. The detector will produce an
increasing frequency ticking tone when gas is detected at increasing concentrations. A decreased
tone occurs when gas concentration changes from high to low. Also, the 6 gas level indicators will
change accordingly.
4. You can rotate the sensitivity dial toward (-) to reset to a lower sensitivity level to allow
localization of any leak. You will notice a slowdown of the ticking rate and turning off of
corresponding gas level indicators.
5. Red low battery indicator will be illuminated when only 0.5 hours of operation time is left;
replace batteries when possible.
Combustible Gas

The following is a partial list of detectable combustible gases: Natural gas, Propane, Gasoline,
Butane, Spraying Fuel, Methane, Ethanol, Ethers, Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol or Propanol),
Ammonia, Naphtha.
The device can be used in oil production, smelting, chemical production, sewage treatment, coal
gas extraction, mining, tunnel construction, storage, brewing, pharmaceutical and other
industries that may require localization of gas leaks.
Maintenance and Storage
1. Because the detector does not require periodic calibration, very little maintenance or repair is
required to maintain the detector in working condition. Be sure to adjust sensitivity prior to each
use to avoid false alarms or reduced sensitivity. Check detector with test gas to verify continued
operation.
2. If the device has not been used for long time (>1-2 months), we recommend using new
batteries. Turn on device and let it warm up for several minutes.
3. Wipe the detector only with a damp cloth as needed. Do not apply abrasive solvents or other
cleaners to the surface of the detector or sensors.
4. The detector is not waterproof; do not contact the sensor with water.
5. This product should not be stored or used in the environments below:
a. Humid or dusty environments
b. Environments with caustic gases or sulfur dioxide
c. High temperature, high humidity or strong direct sunlight.
6. Turn the detector off when not in use. Remove batteries before long-term storage.
