IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION
Read all instructions and warnings carefull before starting installation to reduce the risk
of fire, electric shock and injur to persons.
1. Read all i structio s before usi g this heater.
2. This heater is hot whe i use. To avoid bur s, do ot let bare ski touch hot surfaces, such as
surfaces ear the heater outlet or light bulbs. The grill directly i fro t of the heater outlet
becomes hot duri g heater operatio . If provided, use ha dles whe movi g this heater. Keep
combustible materials, such as clothes, pillows, fur iture, beddi g, papers a d curtai s at least 3
feet from the fro t of this applia ce.
3. CAUTION: Whe ever the heater is left operati g a d u atte ded, extreme cautio is ecessary
if childre or i valids are earby.
4. Do ot i stall the heater directly o carpet or a similar surface, which may restrict air circulatio
be eath the u it.
5. Always u plug heater whe ot i use.
6. To disco ect heater, tur co trols to off the remove plug from outlet.
7. Do ot use outdoors.
8. This heater is ot i te ded for use i wet locatio s, such as bathrooms, lau dry areas a d similar
i door locatio s. Never locate heater where it may fall i to a bathtub or other water co tai er.
9. Do ot operate a y heater with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater has malfu ctio ed, or if
the heater has bee dropped or damaged i a y ma er. Discard heater, or Retur heater to
authorized service for exami atio , adjustme t or repair.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Yosemite Home Décor’s Electric fireplaces use I ca desce t ca delabra bulbs, rati g voltage 120
volts, 40 Watt, E-12 small socket base light bulbs.
Changing Light Bulbs
Disconnect power suppl before beginning an maintenance.
1. Light bulbs eed to be replaced whe you otice a dark sectio of the flame or whe
clarity a d detail of the coal effect disappears.
2. U screw the locki g ut o the side of the brackets a d the remove the face. This is
do e by lifti g the face up a d swi gi g the face clear of the fire. Care should be take
ot to damage the face. Removal of the face may require two people.
3. O the base of the fire there are screws o both sides. These eed to be removed to allow
the cover to slide dow . (Figure 10).
WARNING
•Allow at least five mi utes for the light bulbs to cool before touchi g the bulbs to avoid
bur i g. Make sure power supply is disco ected.
•Exami e the bulbs to determi e which o e eeds replaci g. Remove the o worki g
bulb a d replace with a ew lo g life bulb. Hold the socket while u screwi g the old
bulb a d while screwi g i the replaceme t bulb. (Figure 11)
•The bulbs are 40 watt ca delabra bulbs available at most hardware or Do it Your Self or
Lighti g stores.
•O ce the bulb has bee replaced, replace the cover, screws a d face.

Replacing Rod
Disconnect power suppl before beginning an maintenance.
Place the Front glass in the safe position.
1. U screw top cover from firebox.
2. U screw side screws that will allow for glass to slide off.
3. Locate screws that hold brow plastic backgrou d i place, u screw a d remove
backi g.

4. Remove the black trimmi g from the i side of the firebox.
5. Remove screws a d the slide out the glowi g embers.
6. The rod is secured by a pi alo g with a bracket o either side of the firebox. Loose the
bracket that does ’t co tai the motor by u screwi g the faste ers
7. Detach the pi from the u it.
8. Remove rod.
9. With ew rod measure to the correct dime sio , cut a d place where origi al rod was
located.
10. Place brow plastic backi g back i to correct positio a d screw i faste ers to secure.
11. Secure black trimmi gs back i to place.
12. Slide glass back i to place.
13. Tighte faste ers a d cover back i to positio . The rod replaceme t process is complete.

Replacing Blower
1. Remove fro t covers off the top a d bottom of the firebox.

2. Remove faste ers that secure blower.
3. Follow the wires from the fa dow to the heater. I ma y of our fireplaces they co ect
below the light bulb. If this is the case, tur the spri g that holds the light bulb i to
place, a d the u screw the light bulb.

4. U screw the socket bracket that holds the light bulb i place.
5. Remove the fa wires that are co ected to the heater. Replace with ew fa a d wires.
Ru wires a d fa to the locatio of where the fa was origi ally positio ed.
6. Put socket bracket for light bulb back o .
8. Place light bulb back i socket. Close bottom cover of the firebox.
9. O ce the ew fa is i its proper positio , screw the faste ers i to their correct locatio
a d fa will be securely statio ed.
10. Replace screws to the top cover of the firebox a d blower replaceme t is complete.

Replacing Printed Circuit Board (motherboard)
1. Remove screws from the top of the firebox a d the upper part of the backside of the
firebox.

2. O ce motherboard is visible you will otice uts securi g the motherboard a d with
plugs attached to the existi g motherboard.
3. Remove the uts from the existi g motherboard (u it will be loose a d o ly attached by
the plugs)

4. The plugs will have some play a d will be easily tra sferred over to the ew motherboard.
Cutti g the ties that hold the plugs together is ot ecessary.

5. Li e up the ew motherboard with the existi g motherboard, detach the plugs a d place
plugs i to correct locatio o ew motherboard u til all plugs are i their correct
positio .
6. O ce the ew motherboard is attached, screw the uts i to their correct locatio a d
motherboard will be securely statio ed.
7. Replace screws to the cover of the firebox a d motherboard replaceme t is complete.

Replacing Motor
1. U screw top cover from firebox.
2. U screw side screws that will allow for glass to slide off.
3. Locate screws that hold brow plastic backgrou d i place, u screw a d remove
backi g.

4. Remove the black trimmi gs from the i side border of the firebox.
5. Remove screws a d the slide out the glowi g embers.
6. The rod is secured by a bracket o either side of the firebox. Loose the bracket a d
remove the rod.

7. With rod removed loose the bracket which holds the motor i to place.
8. The motor has a wire attached to the motherboard.
9. U do the plastic ties which hold the wires i place. Remove the motor wire which is
attached to the motherboard.
10. Place ew motor i to correct positio a d attach the wire to the motherboard.
11. O ce motor is i correct positio reattach motor to bracket
12. Reattach the bracket to the side of the firebox.
13. Reattach rod to bracket
14. Reattach bracket to the firebox.
15. Place brow plastic backi g back i to correct positio a d screw i faste ers to secure.
16. Secure black trimmi gs o the i side of the firebox.
17. Slide glass back i to place.
18. Tighte faste ers a d cover back i to positio . The rod replaceme t process is complete.

Replacing the Speaker/ USB Port on DF-EFP700
1. U latch the cover faceplate from the firebox.
2. Loose screws that attach the speakers from the firebox.
3. U tie the ties from the faceplate.
4. U plug wires at the co ecti g poi t.
5. Place ew speakers i to correct locatio a d plug i wires at co ecti g poi t.
6. Retie ties to the faceplate.
7. Attach speakers back to firebox with by tighte i g appropriate screws.
8. Reattach faceplate

ELECTRIC FIREPLACE TROUBLESHOOTING
Try t e solutions suggested ere first in order to avoid t e cost of an unnecessary service call.
Problem: No Power
•C eck unit is plugged into a standard 120V outlet.
•C eck t at Main Power Switc is in “ON” position.
Problem: There is a dark s ot at the base of the fire lace.
•C eck t e bulb most likely a bulb needs to be replaced. T e Electric
fireplaces take 40 watt candelabra base bulbs and can old anyw ere from
2-6 bulbs in t e fireplace.
Problem: Fire lace doesn’t turn on when turned on by remote or switch; you
can hear a click but no image.
•C eck t e bulbs. It is rare t at all of t e bulbs will burn out at t e same
time, replacing t e bulbs s ould fix t e problem, but if all of t e bulbs burn
out at t e same time again it is possible t e fireplace may need a new
control board. T e fireplaces take 40 watt candelabra base bulbs and can
old anyw ere from 2-6 bulbs in t e fireplace.
Problem: Fire lace makes a grinding/rattling noise when running
•T e Rod t at spins t e flame may need to be greased.
Problem: When the fire lace is turned off by remote and the image freezes.
