Quick Reference Guide
I. Prior to installation, please ens re:
1. The rated voltage of yo r firebox fits the o tp t voltage of yo r o tlet;
2. The light b lbs in yo r firebox are in good condition. To check this, please follow
the instr ctions for replacing the light b lbs on section MAINTENANCE.
II. The heater on yo r electric fireplace may emit a slight, harmless odor when first sed. This
odor is a normal condition ca sed by the initial heating of internal heater parts and will not
occ r again.
III. If yo r heater does not emit heat, please ens re the Heater Switch is on. For f rther
information, please cons lt section Operation of the Practical User's G ide.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
Yo sho ld read and always follow the important instr ctions below to red ce the risk of
fire, electric shock, and inj ry to persons.
1. Read all instr ctions before sing this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in se. To avoid b rns, do not let bare skin to ch hot s rfaces, s ch
as s rfaces near the heater o tlet or light b lbs. The grill directly in front of the heater
o tlet becomes hot d ring heater operation. If provided, se handles when moving this
heater. Keep comb stible materials, s ch as clothes, pillows, f rnit re, bedding, papers and
c rtains at least 3 feet from the front of this appliance.
3. CAUTION: Whenever the heater is left operating and nattended, extreme ca tion is
necessary if children or invalids are nearby.
4. Do not install the heater directly on carpet or a similar s rface, which may restrict air
circ lation beneath the nit.

7. Do not se o tdoors.
8. This heater is not intended for se in wet locations, s ch as bathrooms, la ndry areas and
similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a batht b or other water
container.
9. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or pl g, or if the heater has malf nctioned,
or if the heater has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or Ret rn
heater to a thorized service for examination, adj stment or repair.

11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exha st opening as this

12. To prevent a possible fire, do not block heater o tlet or any ventilation or exha st in any
manner. Do not se on soft s rfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.

13. All electrical heaters have hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not se it in areas
where gasoline, paint, or flammable liq ids are sed or stored or where the nit will be
exposed to flammable vapo rs.
14. Do not modify this heater. Use it only as described in this man al. Any other se not
recommended by the man fact rer may ca se fire, electric shock or inj ry to persons.
15. Always pl g heaters directly into a wall o tlet/receptacle. Never se with an extension cord
or relocatable power tap (o tlet/power strip).

excessive vibration.

24. This appliance is not intended for se by persons (incl ding children) with red ced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, nless they
have been given s pervision or instr ction concerning se of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.

INSTALLATION
This section provides step-by-step instr ctions for installation of yo r fireplace insert.
Site Selection
Review and consider all of the following conditions for installation:
•Dimensions of the nit
•Unit req ires a minim m of two (2) wall st ds in order to ens re a sec re installation.
The fireplace insert comes completely assembled and wired. Some tools may be req ired to prepare
the site and assembly/install the trim. It can be installed to:
•Existing Fireplace
•C stom Mantel S rro nd
•Wall Constr ction
WARNING
The o tlet m st be 15A/120V. If there is no 15A/120V o tlet near the desired location, install
a new one.
CAUTION
Do not remove the fo r r bber feet at the bottom of the heater or install the heater directly on
soft s rfaces, which may restrict air circ lation. Otherwise, it may ca se a risk of fire or
damage.
NOTE
It is a good idea to place yo r fireplace insert near an existing o tlet, for ease of electrical
hook p.
WARNING
Do not attempt to wire yo r own new o tlets or circ its. To red ce the risk of fire, electric
shock or inj ry to persons, always se a licensed electrician.

Existing Fireplace Installation
1. Seal all drafts and vents with non-fibro s ins lation materials to prevent chimney debris from
falling into the fireplace insert.
CAUTION
Do not install into an existing fireplace that is prone to leaks or dampness.
2. Cap the top of the chimney fl e to prevent rain from entering.
3. Pl g the fireplace into a 15A/120V o tlet.
4. The power cord can r n along the front of the hearth to an o tlet near the fireplace.
WARNING
To prevent personal inj ry yo sho ld hire a professional to cap the chimney fl e or c t a
hole in the existing fireplace for wiring. If yo wish to ret rn yo r existing fireplace to its
original se (e.g. wood b rning) it sho ld be inspected by the local b ilding department
prior to se.
Custom Made Mantel Surround
1. Place the fireplace mantel in the desired location to see how it will look in the room.
2. Leave a clearance allowance aro nd the insert of ¾” (2.0cm) to ease installation.
3. P sh the fireplace insert into place so that the panel and the finished mantel s rro nd are in
the same plane.

Wall Construction Installation
1. Select a s itable location that is not s sceptible to moist re or d st. Keep away from high
traffic areas. Also, keep away from things that may catch fire s ch as drapes and f rnit re etc.
2. Use st ds to frame an opening, make s re to create an allowance of ¾ inches (2.0 cm) based on
the inserts’ dimension to ens re that the fireplace co ld be inserted witho t any problems.
3. Pl g the fireplace into a 15A/120V o tlet.
CAUTION
Store yo r fireplace insert in a dry, safe and d stless place when placing the mantel or
b ilding the wall constr ction.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This heater is for se on 120 volts. The cord has a pl g as shown at A in Fig re. An adapter as
shown at C is available for connecting three-blade gro nding-type pl gs to two-slot receptacles.
The green gro nding l g extending from the adapter m st be connected to a permanent gro nd
s ch as a properly gro nded o tlet box. The adapter sho ld not be sed if a three-slot gro nded
receptacle is available.

B. Operation
On the first se of remote controller, install the batteries first: open the battery box by sliding its
cover along the arrow, install two AAA batteries according to the marks in the box, and slide the
cover to its original position. If no batteries installed or the batteries are not working, the
remote controller will be n sable.
To se the remote controller effectively, point it to the electric fireplace and keep a distance of
1-5 meters.

perform the same f nction, choose as yo favor.
1. On/Off Switch . Press on/off switch to t rn fire on. The indicator lamp will brighten
p in the control panel. Press the <ON/OFF> b tton again; the fireplace insert will be
powered off.
2. Flame Effect Dimmer . Adj st the brightness of sim lated flame and logs. When the
fireplace insert is powered on, flame is t rned on a tomatically. Press <DIMMER> b tton
to adj st the brightness, the lamp will be flashing. D ring the dimming cycle the fire
will slowly dim then brighten allowing ser to choose s itable level. Press a second time
to stop cycle when the desired brightness level is obtained.
3. Heater Low Heat (750 W). Press <LOW> b tton once to switch the fireplace insert to
low-power stat s. The indicator lamp will brighten p. Press again the <LOW> b tton
to t rn it off.
4. Heater High Heat (1500 W). Press <HIGH> b tton once to switch the fireplace insert to
high-power stat s. The indicator lamp will brighten p. Press again the <HIGH>
b tton will t rn it off.
NOTE
Before the heater emits heat or after it stops prod cing heat, the hot air o tlet may o tp t air
for 10 seconds. This is designed to protect the circ it.
6. Switch off the heater when yo leave it for a long time.
7. Remove the two alkaline batteries from the appliance before it is scrapped.
8. The alkaline batteries need to be disposed of safely.
9. Roll p the power cord in the s pports when the fireplace is not in se. If yo select to
store yo r heater f lly assembled, be s re to cover it, to protect it from acc m lating d st.
10. Temperat re Limiting control will a tomatically t rn the nit off if it reaches a certain
temperat re. Unpl g the nit. When the temperat re falls, the thermostat will be
restored. Connect the pl g to power and heater will work.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to red ce the risk of fire,
electric shock to persons or damage.
Light Bulb Replacement
Light b lbs need to be replaced when yo notice a dark section of the flame or when the clarity and
detail of the log exterior disappears.
WARNING
Allow at least 5 min tes for light b lbs to cool off before to ching b lbs to avoid b rning of
skin. Except the light b lb replacement, any other servicing sho ld be performed by an
a thorized service representative.

Q antity of 2 or 3 clear chandelier or candelabra b lbs with an E-12 small socket base,
rating voltage 120 volts, rating power 40 watts.
CAUTION
Do not exceed 40 watts per b lb
II. Operation
1. Open the light b lb area:
The light b lb area is on the back of electric fireplace, see “E”. There are 6 screws on it.
Loosen the screw, and then yo can open it. (Right fig re)
2. Examine the b lbs to determine which b lbs req ire replacement.
3. Remove old b lb and replace a new one. Hold the socket while nscrewing or screwing
b lbs. (Right fig re)
4. Replace the cover of light b lbs.
5. Done.
