IMPORTANT SAFETY INFO
GENERAL WARNINGS
Please read this entire manual before installation and use of the pellet fuel-burning
appliance. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage, bodily
injury or even death.
Contact local building or fire officials about restrictions and installation inspection
requirements in your area.
This grill is for outdoor use only. DO NOT use it in any enclosed area.
DO NOT store or use combustible materials or liquids near this appliance.
Keep children away while it is in use.
Maintain a safe distance between your grill and any combustible material.
DO NOT move your grill while operating or while it is hot. Wait until the grill is
completely cold.
If a grease fire occurs, turn “off”and leave lid closed until the fire is extinguished. DO
NOT unplug the power cord. DO NOT throw water on it. DO NOT try to smother the
fire.
Clean and maintain your grill after each use.
DO NOT use your grill on rainy days.
DO NOT touch any part of your grill while it is hot. Serious bodily injury could result.
We suggest the use of heat-resistant gloves when operating this grill.
We suggest that you should wrap the Grease Drain Pan with heavy-duty aluminum
foil before using because it is easy to clean.
For convenient and safe assembly, use at least two people to assemble the grill.
Make sure the power cord is disconnected before performing any service or
maintenance.

DO NOT place anything heavy on top of hopper lid. It is not a shelf and is a tip hazard.
Never use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, or
similar liquids to start or ‘freshen up’ a fire in this appliance. Keep all such liquids
well away from the appliance when in use.
Do not use accessories not specified for use with this appliance.
NOTE: A MAJOR CAUSE OF FIRES IS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED
CLEARANCES (AIR SPACES) TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS. IT IS OF
UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THIS PRODUCT BE INSTALLED ONLY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

PELLET RESTRICTIONS
This grill is designed for use of wood pellets only designed for burning in wood pellet
grills. Do Not Use Pellet Fuel Labeled As Having Additives.
We suggest that you use Z GRILLS BBQ WOOD PELLETS, which are specifically
made to work in our grills. There is no guarantee that other brands of pellets are
suitable for use in Z GRILLS. And Z GRILLS assumes no liability for any loss, damage
or injury caused by the use of any other brands of pellets.
Always keep the Pellet Hopper dry, the wood pellets will expand greatly, break apart
and even jam the feed system if the pellets get wet or are exposed to high humidity.
CARBON MONOXIDE WARNING
Follow these guidelines to prevent this colorless, odorless gas from poisoning you,
your family or others.
Know the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning: headache, dizziness, weakness,
nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, and confusion. Carbon monoxide reduces the blood’s
ability to carry oxygen. Low blood oxygen levels can result in loss of consciousness
and death.
See a doctor if you or others develop cold or flu-like symptoms while cooking or in
the vicinity of this appliance. Carbon monoxide poisoning, which can easily be
mistaken for a cold or flu, is often detected too late.
Alcohol consumption and drug use increase the effects of carbon monoxide
poisoning.
Carbon monoxide is especially toxic to mother and child during pregnancy, infants,
the elderly, smokers, and people with blood or circulatory system problems, such as
anemia, or heart disease.

BODY FRAME ASSEMBLY
1.MOUNTINGTHEBODYFRAME
1.InserttheLeftFrontLeg(44)andLeftRearLeg(43)intotheFoodPads(45).
2.SecureLegs(43)(44)(49)(50)ontheBottomPlate(46)withBolt(A).
3.Insert the Axle (48) through the holes in the Bottom Plate (46), Legs (49)(50), and wheels
(47)andassembletheNut(I)ontotheAxle(48).UsetheWrench(N)totighten.

2.MOUNTING THE BODY FRAME TO THE CHAMBER
1.With thehelpofanother person, carefullyattachtheGrill ChamberAssembly (1)on the
BodyFrame andusingBolt (A).UsetheScrewdriver(T) totighten.Caution:Thegrill isvery
heavy. Always lift the grill with 2 people.
3.MOUNTINGTHEHOPPERTOTHECHAMBER
1.InsertBolt(C)intoHopperBurnerLid(6)andHopper Assembly(7),aligntheholes,then
assembleitwithNut(E). UsetheScrewdriver(T)to tighten.
2.AssembleHopperHandle(8)toHopperAssembly(7)withBolt(A).
3.AssembleHopperAssembly(7)toGrillChamberAssembly(1)withBolt(A).

4.Locate the RTD Male Plug-In-Connector coming from the Grill Chamber Assembly. It will
look like a loose wire with a connector on the end. Locate Connect the RTD Female
Plug-In-ConnectorcomingfromtheHopperAssembly.ConnectthetwoRTD
Plug-In-Connectorstogether.PulltheRTDwiredownsothatitissandwichedbetweenthe
hopper and the chamber. The extra RTD wire will be at the bottom of hopper.
4.ATTACHINGTHESMOKESTACKANDCHIMNEYCAP
InserttwoBolts(G)throughGasket(O),thetwoholesintheSmokeStackAssembly(27)
andthetwoholesintheSmokeStackGasket(26).Alignandinsertthroughthetwoholesin
theGrillChamberAssembly(1).AttachusingNut(K).TightenwithWrench(N).Thentighten
theChimneyCapAssembly(28)ontheChimneyFixingHole.

5.ATTACHING THE SIDE TABLE
1.AssembleSideTable(25)totheGrillChamberAssembly(1)withBolt(A).
2.AssembleBottleOpener(22)totheSideTable(25)withBolt(C).
3.Assemble Step Screw (F) to the Side Table (25).
6.LIDASSEMBLY
1.InserttheBolt(G)throughGasket(O)andLid(4)andintotheLidHandle(5).
2.InserttheBolt(B)throughLidHinge(3)andintoLid(4).
3.InserttheBolt(B)throughFurnaceHinge(2)andintotheGrillChamberAssembly(1).
UsetheScrewdriver(T)totighten.InsertthePinShaft(L)throughtheHinge(2)(3)and
secureitwiththePin(D).Asshown.

7.ATTACHING THE IGNITION ROD
Take out Feeder Assembly(24),put in place as shown below photo,Connect the
ignition rod B(36) with Hot Rod (Ignitor) A (37) as shown and cover the joint with
the silicone case that comes with the ignition rod.
8. ATTACHING BURNER BOX
Assemble the Burner Box Assembly(24) to the Grill Chamber with Bolt (H)

9.POSITIONING THE GREASE DRAIN PANLEFT SUPPORT
Assemble the grease drain pan left support (9) to Chamber with Bolt (A).
10.POSITIONING THE GREASE DRAIN PANBOTTOM SUPPORT
1.Assemble the grease drain pan bottom support (19) to Chamber with Bolt (C) and Nut (E).

11. POSITIONING THE GREASE DRAIN PAN
1.Clip the Grease Drain Pan Left Support(9) into the mounting hole of the Grease Drain
Pan(18)
2.Take out Grease Drain Pan Cover(17) on the Grease Drain Pan(18).
12. POSITIONING PULL ROD,GREASE DRAIN PAN HANDLE
1.Thread one end of the pull rod ,grease drain pan handle(52) into the hole of the
Grill Chamber.
2.Use R Pin(51) to fix the other end of the pull rod ,grease drain pan handle(52) into
the hole of Grease Drain Pan Cover(17).

Assemble Pull rod cover ,Grease Drain Pan handle (53) on the Pull rod,Grease
Drain Pan Handle (52)
Note: Pull rod,Grease Drain Pan Handle (52)can be push-and-pull to "Direct" flame
searing.It allows for "Direct Flame"cooking.

Ensure thatgrease pans are cleaned and there's no grease left frompreviou
cooks.When cookingin the DirectFlame mode, the hood should ALWAYS be
in theopen position.Never leave your grill unattended duringa directflame
cook.

14.ATTACHING THE COOKING GRATE AND WARMING RACK
Attaching the Porcelain Cooking Grates (16) and Warming Rack (15) in the Chamber.

Hang the Grease Bucket (21) on the Hook (23).

INITIALFIRINGINSTRUCTIONS
Please read this manual carefully and follow it step by step before starting your
Z Grills for the first time and each time the grill runs out of pellets.
1.Remove the Porcelain Grills, Warming Rack, Grease Drain Pan and Heat Baffle from
the interior of the grill.
2.Open the Pellet Hopper Lid, make sure there are no foreign objects in the Auger and
Hopper.
3.With the Switch in the OFF(O) position, plug the power cord into a 110 Volt AC grounded
outlet.
4.Turn on your Z Grill and turn the Temperature Dial to the SMOKE position. Please check
the following things:
(WARNING: Please do not touch it!)



ConfirmtheAugeristurning.(Waitfor1-2minutes.)
HoldyourfingersabovetheFirepottoconfirmthefanisblowingairthroughtheFirepot.
The hotrod will heat up and you should be able to sense the heat coming from it. (It takes
approximately1-2minutes.)
YoushouldseeatemperaturenumberdisplayedonyourLEDDISPLAY.Ifyousee
somethingdifferentdisplayeditisanERRORCODE.NOTE:PLEASESEE
TROUBLESHOOTINGFORDETAILSONERRORCODES.

5.TurntheTemperatureDialtoSHUTDOWNCYCLE.
(Pleasenotethedraftfanwillstayonfor10minutesinthismode.)
6.FillthePelletHopperwithPellets.ThenturntheTemperatureDialtoHIGH.Ittakessome
time for the Pellets to travel through the tube, when the Pellets start to drop, turn the
TemperatureDialtoSHUTDOWNCYCLE.Leavegrilluntilitshutsoffautomatically.
7.Turn the Temperature Dial to SMOKE. Allow the Pellets to come to full flame. Once flames
arecomingoutoftheFirepot,turntheTemperatureDialtoSHUTDOWNCYCLEandletthe
grillcooldown.
[WesuggestthatyoushouldwraptheGreaseDrainPanwithheavy-dutyaluminum
foilbeforeusingbecauseitiseasytoclean.]
8.Place components back in place. Open the lid and turn the Temperature Dial to SMOKE. A
few minutes later, when you see whitish-gray smoke coming out of the grill, close the lid and
turntheTemperatureDialtoanycookingsettingdesired.
9.SetTemperatureDialtoHIGHandletgrillrunfor45minutesatthissettingtoriditofany
foreignmatter.Thisstepmustbedonebeforecookinganyfood.
10.Pleasepreheatthegrillfor10minutesbeforeaddingfood.Thismakesyourgrillheatup
fasterandquicklyreachyourdesiredcookingtemperature.Addingfoodsoonerwillslow
down the heating process.
ALWAYSSTARTTHEGRILLONSMOKESETTINGWITHTHELIDOPEN!
After the Pellets are ignited, you can turn the Temperature Dial to any cooking temperature
desired. Please don’t turn the Temperature Dial to SHUT DOWN CYCLE while in use.
