When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including:
• Read all instructions.
• Remove all packaging and labels from
appliance prior to use.
• Make sure appliance is cleaned thoroughly
before using.
• This appliance must only be used by or under
the supervision of aresponsible adult.
• Be sure to insert the batteries with correct
positive (+) and negative (—) polarity.
• Do not use appliance for other than its intended
use.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or has
malfunctioned.
• DO NOT drop or hit the grinder against a
hard object. This can cause the grinder to
malfunction or stop working completely.
• Do not immerse in any liquid; instead use a soft
wet cloth toclean.
• Store appliance in a dry place away from direct
sunlight.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries. Replace all
batteries atthe same time.
• DO NOT mix Alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or
rechargeable (Ni-Cad, Ni-MH, etc.) batteries.
• When the grinder is not used for more than a
month, remove the batteries from the grinder to
prevent it from leaking. If it leaks, carefully wipe
away the liquid inside the battery compartment
and replace the batteries with anew one.
• Do not heat or disassemble batteries and never
dispose of old batteries by throwing them into
a fire.
• Do not dispose batteries into standard garbage
disposal sites. Dispose of at available Battery
Recycle Sites after fully discharging battery. Not
doing so may violate local disposal laws and
regulations. Please refer to local regulations for
proper battery disposal.
• Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas
burner, hot electric burner, or in a heated oven.

Remove the Cover by turning it slightly
counterclockwise and lifting it o of the
Motor (photo A).
Install six AAA batteries around the
Motor, aligning the positive (+) side of
each battery with the positive indicator
on battery well, and the negative (–) side
with the negative indicator and springs
(photo B).

Place the Cover back over the Motor and
turn clockwise to secure (photo C).
Remove the Spice Container by turning
slightly clockwise (Photo D).

Fill the Spice Container with peppercorns
or coarse dry salt (photo E).
Reinstall the Spice Container by turning
counter clockwise until it is fully fastened
(photo F).
Your Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder is
now ready to use.

Adjust the grind level to make it more
coarse by rotating the Coarseness
Adjuster counterclockwise (photo B).
To start grinding, simply rotate the
Grinder so that the Spice Container is on
top. Rotate back to stop grinding
(photo C).
Adjust the grind level to make it more
fine by rotating the Coarseness Adjuster
clockwise (photo A).

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Do not expose your Salt and Pepper Grinders to heat.
Store your Salt and Pepper Grinders in a dry place.
To clean your Salt and Pepper Grinders, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never
immerse the Motor in water.
To clean the Spice Compartment, detach it from the Cover and wash it with warm, soapy
water. Dry thoroughly before reassembling and storing.
The Salt and Pepper Grinders are not dishwasher safe. Do not put the Salt and Pepper
Grinders or any of its components into a dishwasher.

WARRANTY
DASH - 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Zakarian by Dash product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase when utilized for normal
and intended household use. Should any defect covered by the terms of the limited warranty
be discovered within one (1) year, Dash will repair or replace the defective part. To process
a warranty claim, contact Customer Support at 1-800-898-6970 for further assistance and
instruction. A Customer Support agent will assist you by troubleshooting minor problems. If
troubleshooting fails to fix the problem, a return authorization will be issued. Proof of purchase
indicating the date and place of purchase is required and should accompany the return. You
must also include your full name, shipping address, and telephone number. We are unable to
ship returns to a PO box. Dash will not be responsible for delays or unprocessed claims resulting
from a purchaser’s failure to provide any or all of the necessary information. Freight costs must
be prepaid by the purchaser.
