The appliance which you have just bought is supplied not only with this instruction manual, but also with
a Warranty Card Certificate, on the back of which are written the relative conditions.
Please fill in the necessary details on the Card Certificate and send it to the Zanussi Centre relative to
the area in which the appliance is to be installed, within twenty days of the date of purchase. (See list of
Zanussi network centres).

The appliance which you have just purchased has been very accurately controlled throughout the entire
manufacturing process. Nevertheless, should any problem arise during usage, whether it be during the

The products
In order to obtain a good wash, it is necessary to use detergents specially designed for dishwashers.
To ensure that your dishwasher functions perfectly, Zanussi recommends using Calgonit System, a
unique and complete product, tested by millions of householders.
Calgonit System includes Calgonit detergent, rinse aid, salt, machine detergent and Citro-Fresh.
It is able to fulfil the main requirements for clearing both the crockery and the machine itself.

reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move
house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is left with the appliance in order
that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant safety
information.
This information has been provided in the interest of safety. You MUST read it carefully before
installing or using the appliance.

Installation
■This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken
when moving it.
■It is dangerous to alter the specifications or
attempt to modify this product in any way.
■Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance
does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
■Any electrical work required to install this
appliance should be carried out by a qualified
electrician or competent person.
■Any plumbing work required to install this
appliance should be carried out by a qualified
plumber or competent person.
Child Safety
■This appliance is designed to be operated by
adults.
Children should not be allowed to tamper with
the controls or play with the product.
■Keep all packaging well away for children.
■Keep all detergents in a safe place out of
children's reach.
During Use
■Items that are contaminated by petrol, paint,
steel or iron debris, corrosive, acidic or alkaline
chemicals must not be washed in this
dishwasher.
■Under no circumstances should you open the
door whilst the appliance is in operation. Always
turn off the appliance before opening the door.
■Only use detergent specifically designed for use
in dishwashers.
■When finishing loading or unloading close the
door, as an open door can be a hazard.
■Do not sit or stand on the open door.
■Isolate the appliance from the power supply and
turn off the water supply after use.
■Care should be taken when cleaning the
bottom door seal and hinge area as any
exposed metal edges may cut if care is not
taken.
■This product should be serviced by an
authorised Service engineer, and only
genuine spare parts should be used.
■Under no circumstances should you attempt
to repair the machine yourself. Repairs
carried out by inexperienced persons may
cause injury or serious malfunctioning.
Contact your local Service Force Centre.
Always insist on genuine spare parts.
Conservation
In the interest of the environment:
■Materials marked with the symbol are
recyclable.
■Check with your local Council or
Environmental Health Office to see if there
are facilities in your area for re-cycling this
appliance.
■When the appliance is to be scrapped, cut
off the power supply cable and make the
door closing device unusable to prevent
young children from being trapped inside.
■Help to keep your country tidy - use
authorised disposal sites for your old
appliance.

1. On/Off indicator light
This comes on when the On/Off pushbutton is
depressed, indicating that the machine is on.
2. On/Off pushbutton
Press this button to preset the dishwasher to
accept settings (selection of a wash programme,
economy drying, etc.).
The number "3" appears in the digital display.
When the washing programme has finished, the
machine stops automatically and the On/Off
indicator light remains on. To switch the indicator
light off or to stop the machine at any time, press
the On/Off pushbutton.
3. Indicator lights
Open door
Flashes when the door has not been
properly closed.
Salt
Flashes when the salt has run out, to remind
you to refill the salt container.
Water tap
Flashes when:
- The water tap is closed.
- The mains water supply has been cut off.
- The inlet hose may be blocked.
Rinse aid
Flashes when the rinse aid has run out, to
remind you to refill the rinse aid dispenser.
4. Programme selector
pushbutton
To select a programme press this button until you
see in the digital display the number of the
programme you wish to select (see chart
"Washing programmes"). All the indicator lights of
the phases corresponding to the selected
programme will come on.
5. Half load pushbutton
By pressing this button, washing can be confined
to a single basket instead of both.
The indicator light corresponding to the basket
selected comes on.
Upper basket
Lower basket
This is very useful and economical when only a
few dishes need washing.
Remember to load all the dishes into the basket
selected.
If both indicator lights are out, washing will be
carried out in both baskets.

6. Economy drying
By pressing this button you can opt to shorten or
completely eliminate the hot air drying cycle, so
making a considerable energy saving.
Eco drying
No drying
If programme nr. 7 is selected the indicator light
"No drying" will come on for default but it is
posssible to change the setting by depressing this
button.
With the programme nr. 1 the drying options are
not available.
If both pilot lights are out, the full drying cycle
will be carried out.
7. Digital display
8. Delay start button
Allows the start of the programme to be delayed
by a minimum of 1 hour, up to 9 hours.
How to set the “Delay start”:
When the button is pressed, the number 1
followed by the letter H appears in the display.
This means that you have delayed the start of the
programme by 1 hour.
Press the button again to select the number of
hours by which you wish to delay the programme
start, up to a maximum of 9.
The delay start will not modify the settings made
previously.
Close the dishwasher door and press the start
button (if the start button is pressed with the door
open the door indicator light will flash). All the
phase indicator lights are off.
The countdown will begin and the display will
indicate with step of 1 hour how much longer
there is to go before the beginning of the
programme. The letter H on the display will flash
indicating the delay is operating.
If you wish to cancel the delay start, press the
start button until you see two zeros in the digital
display.
9. Start pushbutton
This is the last button to be pressed after setting
the wash programme and, if required, drying
options, half load, delayed start.
This button starts the programme. On the digital
display you can read the approximate duration in
minutes of the programme and, as it proceeds,
how much longer there is to go before the end of
the programme with step of 5 minutes.
At 10 minutes from the end of the programme the
step will be 1 minute.
You will be continuosly informed what phase in
the washing programme the dishwasher has
reached by illuminating the phase under way.
At the end of the programme in the digital display
will appear due zeros.
To cancel or change a programme
You are able to cancel or change a programme
with the door open or closed.
If you wish to cancel/change a programme which
is already running or a setting which has just
been made, press the start button until two zeros
appear in the digital display and the indicator
lights (except the On/OFF indicator light) turn off.
Now a new programme and new options may be
selected.
10. Programme phase indicator
lights
As soon as you select a washing programme, this
illuminates all the phases the programme
consists of.
As the programme progresses, the phase under
way will illuminate.
At the end of the programme the phase indicator
lights turn off.

Before using your dishwasher for the first time:
ensure that the electrical and water
connections comply with the installation
instructions
remove all packaging from inside the appliance
set the water softener
fill the salt container
fill the rinse aid dispenser.
Setting the water softener
The dishwasher is equipped with a water softener
designed to remove minerals and salts from the
water supply, which would have a detrimental or
adverse effect on the operation of the appliance.
The higher the content of these salts, the harder
your water is.
Water hardness is measured in equivalent scales,
for example German and French degrees.
The softener should be adjusted according to the
hardness of the water in your area. Your local
Water Authority can advise you on the hardness of
the water in your area.
The dishwasher is factory set at level 4.
If this level is not suitable for your area the softener
should be adjusted.
To select a different level proceed as
follows:
- Press the On/Off pushbutton on.
- Press the “programme selector” and
“delay start” buttons simultaneously for
about 5 seconds. In the display appears L4
corresponding to the current level.
- Press the “delay start” button as many
times as necessary to make the required level
appear in the display. The level increases by 1
each time the button is pressed.
- 5 seconds after this button has last been
pressed, the dishwasher memorises the level
selected and returns to the programme setting
mode.

Water hardness

Filling with salt
If your water is "level 0" it is already soft and
therefore there is no need to use salt.
Salt must be used from level 1 upward.
Only use salt specifically designed for use
in dishwasher.
All other types of salt not specifically
designed for use in dishwasher, specially
table salt, will damage the water softener.
Only fill with salt just before starting one of the
complete washing programmes (not the Rinse and
Hold programme).This will prevent any grains of
salt or salty water, which may have been spilled,
remaining on the bottom of the machine for any
period of time, which may cause corrosion.
To fill:
1. To fill with salt, unscrew the cap of the salt
container.
2. Pour about 1 litre of water inside the container,
or until it is full (this is necessary only before
filling with salt for the first time).
3. Then using the funnel provided, pour in the salt
until the container is full (approx. 1.5 - 1.8 kg).
Do not worry if water over flows from the unit
when filling with salt, this is quite normal.
4. Replace the cap making sure that there is no
trace of salt on the screw thread or on the
gasket.
5. Screw on the cap tightly.
The salt container will require topping up
periodically.
The “Salt refill” indicator light on the control panel
will illuminate when the salt has finished, and
requires refilling. The salt container has always
some water inside which will normally overflow
when refilling with salt.
The “Salt refill” indicator light can remain
illuminated for 2 - 6 hours after salt has
been replenished, assuming the
dishwasher remains switched on. If you
are using salts that take longer to
dissolve then this can take longer. The
function of the dishwasher is not affected.

Rinse aid
Rinse aid is automatically added during the last
rinse, ensuring through rinsing, spot and streak
free drying. The dispenser, which is positioned
inside the door, holds about 110 ml of rinse aid,
which is sufficient for 16 - 40 dishwashing
programmes, depending upon the dosage setting.
Filling with Rinse Aid:
1. Open the container by turning the lid (A)
anticlockwise.
2. Add the rinse aid until the container is
completely full (approx. 110 ml). The indicator
(B) will be completely dark.
3. Top up the rinse aid when the rinse aid
indicator light on the control panel flashes.
Ensure that the lid is closed after every refill.
Do not put liquid detergent in the rinse aid
department. Clean up any rinse aid spilt during
filling with an absorbent cloth to avoid excess
foaming during the next wash.
Adjusting the dose
According to the finish and drying results obtained,
adjust the dose of rinse aid by means of the 6
position selector (C) (position 1 minimum dosage,
position 6 maximum dosage).
(Start from position 3).
Gradually increase the dose if there are drops of
water or lime spots on the dishes after washing.
Reduce it if there are sticky whitish streaks on the
dishes.
