The preparation of food in aluminumfoil orplastic con-
tainersisnotallowed.
The hob getsdamaged,when you operateitwithout
placing any vesselson itorwhen you use emptyorun-
suitablevessels,e.g.ofan uneven bottomoratoo
small diameter.
Overheated fatoroil mayignite; therefore,watch deep
frying and similar methodsofpreparation during which
alotof fatneedsto be heated up.
When taking the hotitemsfromthe hotplatesdo abso-
lutelymake use ofpotorthermo-gloves.
When connecting additionalelectricalappliances
makesurethe connecting wiresdo notcomeintocon-
tactwiththe hotplates.
Afterusemakesurethat the applianceis switched off.
All of the rotary knobshaveto be resetintothe OFF-
position.
Cleaning
No hotplatemustbe switched on during the cleaning
procedure.Makesurethat the ceramic-glass surface
has cooled downinawaythatone maygetintouchwith
interiorpartswithoutanydanger.
Always keep the ceramic-glass surfaceclean.
Steamand high--pressurecleaning unitsare notsuit-
ableforcleaning because of the requirementsofelec-
tricalsafety.

Priortothe firstuse
Pleasedocheck whetherthe appliancewas
delivered in perfectstate.Applianceswith
obvioustransportdamagesmustnotbe con-
nected tothe mains.
Firstcleaning
In ordertoremove possible production remnants,
clean the appliance once priortothe firstuse.
Remove anypossiblyexisting labelsand protective
foilsfromthe ceramicglass surface.
Clean the ceramicglass plate and the framewith hot
waterand a washing-up liquid and wipe itdry.
Firstheating up
The cooking zonesaretobeswitched on shortlyat
maximumsetting,one afteranother,in ordertocheck
the operability.
When using the hotplatesforthe first timetheremay
resultashort--termed,slightmolestation byodours.

Hob instructions
Ceramicglass surface
The cooking surfaceismade ofproven ceramicglass.
The surfaceisnon--porousand,in addition,insensitive
to quick variationsintemperature.Therefore potsmay
be moved froma hot toacoldzone.
When switching on the cooking zonestheremayoccur
ashort--termed audible buzzing sound of the radiant
elements.This sound isphysically conditioned,without
anyharm tothe performance of the appliance and fa-
ding awaywithsufficientheating of the cooking zone.
Keep all objectsand materialsthatmightsmelt
awayfromthe hobs,e.g.plasticand aluminum
foils.
Becareful when using sugarorsugar--contai-
ning fluidsforthe preparation. If anything hap-
pened tosmelton the cooking surface,remove
itimmediately-- whenstill hot-- using a razor
blade scraperin orderto avoid damagesof the
surface.
Switch-on and regulation
The cooking zonesareswitched and regulated by
meansof4 energiecontrolled switcheson the rightof
the hob.You may set the desired outputby setting to
positions1-9.
The setting knobshavetobeturned tothe rigthtothe
desired output. Position 9 referstothe highestand 1
tolowestoutput. 0isthe OFF-position.
The setting chartprovides you with hintsforpractical
use.
Switch-off
Switch off yourcooking zonesbyturning the knobsin
the OFF-position.
Afterusemakesurethat the applianceis swit-
ched off. All rotary knobsmustbe set tothe
OFF-position.

Residualheatindicator
The residualheatindicatorwith 1 indicatorlampisloca-
ted between the twofrontcooking zones.The lamp
comeson incasethe temperature ofswitched on coo-
king zoneswill reachmorethan (abt.)60 oC.Also after
switch--off the lampwill remain on until cooling down of
the corresponding cooking zone.
Pots and pans
Do notputpotson the cooking surface unless theirbot-
tomsareclean and dry.Avoid heating up ofempty ves-
sels.
Do always cookwiththe potlidclosed.
Potsand pansbottomsmighthave burrsoredgesthat
scratch and scourthe ceramic surface,when the ves-
selsaremoved around.
Thisisaswell guiltyforpotsand pansmade ofcastiron
and forenamelwarevesselsthathave an electro--gra-
phitized bottom.
Scratchesmayalso appear,ife.g.grainsofsand (left
fromthe preceding cleaning ofvegetable)geton the
cooking surface,when the potismoved around on it.
Disheswith aluminiumand copperbottomsmayleave
metallicdiscolouration on the ceramicglass surface
whichisonlyhardtoremove oreven notatall.
Intelligentconsumption ofenergy
Tosave energy you should...
Dexclusivelymake use ofsuitable boiling and roasting
vesselswithsmooth and even bottom.
Don principle puton potsand pansbeforethe
switch--on of the cooking zone.
Dputon potsand pansalways withthe lid on.
Dswitch off the cooking zone someminutesbeforethe
end ofcooking timein ordertomake use of the resi-
dualheat.
Dmake use of the residualheatof the cooking zones
forwarm--keeping.
Potsand pansmustnotbe smallerthan the cooking zo-
ne itself. They should notexceed the cooking zone dia-
meterbymorethan 2-4cmeither.
Onlyusevesselsthathaveasmooth bottom.
Afterusemakesurethat the applianceis swit-
ched off. All rotary knobsmustbe set tothe
OFF-position.

Cleaning and care
Clean yourglass--ceramichob thoroughlyand regular-
ly,when itishand--hotorcold.Avoidfrequentburning
in ofsoiling.
Suitableforcleaning are:
Clean clothsorpapertowels,cleansing agents such as
cerafix,Stahl-fix,WKTop a.s.o.and a razorblade scra-
persupplied bythe manufacturer.
The cleaning scraperisapplied atan angletowardsthe
ceramicglass surface;residuesfrom roasting and boil-
ing overaretobescraped off withasliding blade.
Wipe off lightsoiling with a dampcloth,possiblyusing
washing--up liquid.
Persistentsoiling can be easilyremoved using the ra-
zorblade scraper.Clean calcareousand water rings,
fatsplashesand metallicallygleaming discolourations
using ceramic-glass-orstainless steelcleansersuch
asSigolin-ChromorStahlfix.
Cleaning agentsmustnotgetontothe hotceramic
glass surface.
Cleansing agentshave always to be wiped off comple-
telywith a dampcloth,astheyhave an corrosive effect
when reheated.Finallywipe dry.
Neveruse anyaggressive orscouring clean-
sing agents such asgrill oroven sprays,stain
or rustremovers,scouring powderorscouring
sponges.
Specialproblems
whena chemicalcleansing agentisnotsuffi-.... cientThe razorblade scrapercan facilitatethe cleaning.
when dark stainshave appeared.... If cleaning withthe razorblade scraperand Stahl--fixor
Sidoldoesnothelp any, the decorhaspresumably
been rubbed down byunsuitablecleansing agentsor
scouring potbottoms.
whenmetallicdiscolouration appearsinthe.... cooking surface The cleansing agentsthathave been used wereforthe
mostpartunsuitable.The discolouration can onlybe
removed with difficultyusing SidolorStahl--fix.
Whenthe surface shows scratches orhollows.... Theseflaws caused by scratching or melted objects
cannotbe removed anymore,but theydo notreduce
the efficiency.

Installation instructions
The appliance mustexclusivelybe con-
nectedtothemainsby anexpertelectri-
cian.
Withthe installation and incase ofaservicefai-
lurethe appliance hastobeisolated fromthe
mains.Fuselage tobeswitched off orremoved.
The generalrulesforthe operation ofelectric
appliances, the provisionsbythe competent
electricity supplyboard and the specifications
of theseinstructionsforinstallation haveto be
strictlyadhered to.
Unpacking
Pleasedocheck whetherthe appliancewas
delivered in perfectstate.Applianceswith
obvioustransportdamagesmustnotbe con-
nected tothe mains.
Disposal
All packaging partsarerecyclable,wooden
stripsare non--treated, foilsand hardfoam
partsmarked.Packaging materialand old
appliancesto be disposed orderly.
Do please adheretothe nationaland regionalprescrip-
tions(materialseparation,wastecollection,residuary
productyards).
Installation inthe kitchenworktop
Electricalsafetyisto be ensured byprofessio-
nal installation.
Protection againstaccidentalcontactaccor-
ding tothe regulations setbyVDEorotherlocal
authoritiesand EN60335 mustbe ensured by
correctinstallation of the appliances.Thesame
referstothe back of the appliancewhich,even
incase ofbuilt--insolutionsawayfromthe wall,

When building inceramicglass cooking areasthe front
cross-rail of the build-incupboardmustbe removed in
orderto havethe heatradiating off escape withoutany
obstacles.
The space underthe hob unitmustbe closed atall
sidesinawaythat the lowerside of the cooking area
isno longeraccessible.
The distancefromthe hob tothe furniture partunder
the hob mustatleastamount to 20 mm. If needed,
pleasefixan insulation.Drawersmustnotbe located
undera hotplate.
The distancefromthe hob to a high cupboard beside
rightorleft mustatleastamount55 mm, tothe back
wall atleastamount55 mm.
Withregardtothe protection againstoverheating of
surrounding furnituresurfacesthisappliancecorres-
pondstotype Y(EN60335).Thisappliance orthe
built--incupboardforthe appliancerespectivelymaybe
located withthe rearwall and one side wall towhatever
high wallsorfurniturerespectivelyand withthe other
side to anotherappliance orfurniture of the same
heightasthisappliance.
Built-in dimensions
The opening inthe worktop mustcorrespond tocom-
mercialdimensions.The hintsrequired are given inthe
dimension sketch.

Cutout the worktop acc. to prescribed cutoutsize.The
tolerancesizesmustnotbe exceeded.Do precisely
sawat the markline.Recommendation:Markthe cut-
outwith a steelneedle. Glue something on the line in
orderto avoidshattering of the coatwhen cutting.
Withtile--coated worktop areasthe slitsinthe support-
ing area forthe cooking area mustbe filled up com-
pletely.
Clean the worktop inthe cutoutarea
Fromthe top laythe cooking area intothe cutout, adjust
concentricallyand firmlypress down.
Check the sealing inthe supporting frameforperfect
seating and resting withouta gap.Please do notapply
additionalsilicone sealing material, the closurewill
makeitharderto dismantleincase ofneed forservice.
5 holesinthe bottomof the build--incase are provided
forthe screwsof the fitting plates.
At firstscrewon the fitting platesbyascrewdriverand
afterwardsregularlytighten the platesalternativelyand
diagonallyoffset, until the frame of the cooking area is
perfectlylaying on the worktop.
Atoo strong and one--sided tightening isto be avoided!
Electric screwdriversorpusherairscrewsto be exclu-
sivelyused withslipclutch(setting value1-- 1.1Nm).

Electric connection
The mains connection mustbe carried outbyan expert
electrician.The VDE-regulationsand the valid pre-
scriptionsbythe localpowersuppyboardshaveto be
compiled with.
Priortoconnection itshould be checked whetherthe
voltage stated on the type plate-- i.e. the nominalvol-
tage of the appliance and of the oven/controlbox-- is
identical withthe prevailing mains voltage.The type
plateistlocated on the hobsbottom.
The heating elementvoltage amountsto 230 V.The
appliancewill also perfectlyperform withthe former
mains voltage of220 V.
The mains connection mustbe carried outinawaythat
an all--poleinsulating deviceisexisting with a contact
opening ofatleast3mm,e.g.LS--automatism,earth--
leakage circuit--breakerorfuse.
Awire of type H05VV-Forofhigher rating isto be used
as supply cable.
The mainsterminal islocated inthe bottomof the
appliance behind a covering slide. It can be opened
withascrewdriver (pict.).
According to existing mains voltage the appliance has
tobeconnected incorrespondencewiththe diagrams
ofconnecting possibilities.The bridgesof the terminal
board aretobechanged accordingly,ifneed be.
The protectiveconductoristo be connected toterminal
.The protectiveconductor mustbe longerthan live
leads.
The cable connectionshave to be establishedas
prescribedand theterminalscrewsbefirmlytigh-
tened.
Afterwardsthe supply cable hasto be secured by strain
reliefdevice and the covering slide mustbe closed ba
firmlypressing down(engange).
Priortofirstuseremove anypossiblyexisting labels
and protectivefoilsfromthe ceramicglass plate orthe
frame of the hob.
Afterconnection tothe powersupplyall hea-
ting elementsareto be switched on shortlyat
maximumsetting one afteranother,in orderto
check the operability.
