socks.

Installation
Anyelectricalworkrequired toinstallthisapplianceshouldbecarriedout
byaqualifiedelectricianorcompetentperson.

Make sure that the appliance does not stand on its electrical supply
cable.
Thisapplianceisheavy.Careshouldbetakenwhenmovingit.
Allpackagingandtransitboltsmustberemovedbeforetheapplianceis
used.Seriousdamagemayoccurifthisisnotdone.
If your washing machine is in a room subject to temperatures below
freezing,thewatermustberemovedfromthemachineshouldthedanger
offreezingbeexpected.
Safeties
Lid: yourwashing machine is equipped with a safety avoidingthe
switching oftheappliancewhentheflapdoorsofthedrumareopened;
the closure of the lid is so impossible. An electromechanic safety
prohibitstheopeningofthelidwhenthewashingmachineworksand
2minutesaftertheendoftheprogramme.
Washingmotor:incaseofmechanicoverloading,overvoltage,athermic
safetyprotectsautomaticallythemotor.
Heating:theheatingcanonlybeginwhenthewaterquantitynecessary
forthewashingisinthetub.Thissafetyisusefulwhenthereisawater
break-uporifyouforgettoopenthewaterinlethose.
Whendisposingofthemachineinapropermanner,destroythedoor
locksandcutoffthepowersupplycord.
Environmentalinformation
All materials marked by the symbol arebiodegradable. They canbe
disposedofwithoutdangerorburntinrubbishincinerators.
Inordertorealizewaterandenergysavingsandtoactinanenvironmentally
consciousmanner,weadvicetofollowthebelowinstructions:
-useifpossibletheappliancewithfullloadsinsteadofpartialloads.Takecare
todonotoverloadthedrum.
-Useonlytheprogrammeswithprewashforverysoiledlaundry.
-Savingsondetergentandfortheenvironmentmayalsobeachievedifwith
mediumtohardwateryouaddsufficientdetergentforsoftwaterandthenadd
separately a softener. This relievesour waters of a certain amount of
chemicals.

INSTALLATION
BECAREFUL:Thepartsprotectingtheinnercomponentsofthemachineduringtransitarered.Theymustallbe
removed before using your machine for the first time. In order to avoid possible damage to the appliance, it is
indispensabletotakeawaythepolystyrenebasis,thetworedloosenedspacersatthebackoftheappliancandthe
polystyrenewedge(followtheinstructionsoftheunpackingsheet).Closeimperativelythe2holesleftbythe2spacers
withtheplugsprovidedwiththeappliance;donotforgettoputonthecentralcover.
Installation
Thefloormustbecleananddry,freefromfloorpolishandother
greasysubstances,sothatthemachinedoesnotslideabout.
Donotuseanygreaseaslubrification.
Installation on deep pile carpets and floor
coverings with foam backings is not recommended, as the
stability of the machine is no longer guaranteed. If the
installation must be done on a carpetedfloor, the openings
located at the lower part of the back of the appliance must
remainfree.Theseopeningsensureagoodventilationofyour
applicance. In case of small format tiles, place a standard
rubbermatunderthemachine.
With sprung floors, in particular wooden plank floors with
yieldingfloorboards,screwdownawaterproofwoodenbaseat
least15mmthick,acrossatleast 2floorboards. Wherever
possible,placetheapplianceinthecorneroftheroom-there
woodenfloorsaremostsecureandleastliabletoresonance
vibrations.
Never compensate for small unevennesses in the floor by
placingwood,pasteboardorsuchlike.
Thefrontadjustablefeetmustbeblockedafterinstallationof
theappliancebymeansofthelockingnuts.
Water connection Connectthe waterinlet hosetoa
cold water tap with a 3/4" gas
threaded orifice, after having
insertedtheruggersealingwasher
into the hose collar. If the water
connectionismadeontonewpipes
orontopipeswhichhavenotbeen
usedforalongtime,itisadvisable
torunoffacertainamountofwater
beforeconnectingthemachine.
Placethecurvedendoftheoutled
hoseintoadrainpipehavingaheightbetween70and100cm
fromfloorlevelorsecureittoasinkorbathtub.Makesurethat
thedrainhoseisfirmlysecuredsothatitwillnotslipoutorfall
downfromitsposition.
Thewatershoulddrainfreelyand,consequently,thedrainhose
shouldnotbechokedorplacedinsuchawayastoobstructthe
normalwaterflow.Ifanextensionhoseisrequired,remember
thatitmightcauseamalfunctioninthedrainpump,particularly
if the extension has a length in excess of 1 meter or if the
diameteroftheextensionissmallerthanthediameterofthe
originaldrainhose.

Beforeyoufittheplugintothewallsocket,checkthefollowing
points:

fluctuatebymorethat10%,plusorminus,from230V.
2)Themeter,thefuses,thesupplylineandthewallsocketare
suitabletocarrythemaximumloadrequiredbythemachine
(2,3kW).
Veryimportant:
Thewashingmachineisprovidedwithafeedingwirewith
earthconnection:itmustbeconnectedtoapluglikethat
isprovidedwithagoodearthconnection.
Thereplacingofthepowercordmustonlyberealizedby
theAfterSalesService.
Themanufacturerdeclinesanyresponsibilitywherethe
previousrecommendationsarenotfollowed.
Levelling
Carefullylevelthemachineadjustingthelevellingfeetlocated
atthefrontofthebaseandthentightenthelocknutsatthetop
of the feet.

This pushbutton allows to wash small quantity of linen
notmuchsoiled(2,5kg)onlyonthecottonprogrammes
bycancellingonerinsing.

Itenablestoselectthemostadaptedprogrammetothe
natureanddegreeesofsoilofyourlaundry.
Turn the programme selector clockwise to select the
chosenprogramme.
The programme selector indicates each programme
phase as it takes place.
At the end of the programme, the appliance stops
automaticallyonapositionoff"I"oronthepositionrinse
hold" ".
Neverturntheprogrammeselectoranticlockwise.
4Temperatureselector
It enables to choose the most adapted temperature
between cold ("I") and 90°C. Choose the temperature
whichcorrespondstothechosenprogramme,withthe
helpoftheindicationsortheprogrammetable,according
tothefibersandthefastnessofthecolours.
Neverturntheprogrammeselectorwhentheapplianceisworking.

Operating instructions
1. Place the laundry in the drum
lift up the lid of the machine
openthedrumwithyourtwohandsbypressingthebuttonA
andthetwoflapdoorstilltheydisengage.
introducethelaundryintothedrum;closethedrumandthe
lidofthemachine. Becareful: beforeclosingthelid
ofyourmachine,makesurethat
thedrumflapdoorsarecorrectly

2. Measure out the detergent
Measureoutthe amountof detergent recommendedby the
manufacturerinthemainwashcompartment( )
Ifyouwishtocarryoutaprewash,pourtheamountrequiredinto

DonotexceedtheMAXlevel.
3. Add the bleach agent
Youmayuseableachagentinallthewashingprogrammes.
However,makesurethatthefabricwithstandsthetreatment.
Bleachisautomaticallywasheddownintothedrum.pour1/4
to 1 glass of 12° chl bleach into compartment marked ( )
beforeswitchingthemachineon.
Makesurethattheleveloftheliquidneverexceedsthe
MAXlevel.
4. Add the fabric softener
Pourthesoftener,ifrequired,intothecompartment marked
().DonotexceedtheMAXlevel.
5. Press the half load pushbutton "" if
required.
6. Select the temperature
Choose the temperature which corresponds to the chosen
programme,withthehelpoftheindicationsortheprogramme
table,accordingtothefibersandthefastnessofthecolours.
7. Select the programme
Choosetheprogrammeaccordingtothenatureandthedegree
ofsoilof thelaundry.
Turntheprogrammeselectorclockwisetoselectthechosen
programme.
8. Starting of the programme
The ON/OFF pushbutton " " enables to switch on your
machine.
9. At the end of the programme
When the selected programme is over, the machine stops
automatically.Thetimerknobstopsontheposition"I"forthe
cottonprogrammes.Thesyntheticprogrammesendbyarinse
hold " ". You can finish these programmes by a spinning
(programme6)oradraining(programme12).Depresstheon/
offpushbutton" "beforedoingyourchoice.
After each wash, depress the on/off pushbutton.
Press off the pushbutton if necessary ; unplug the machine
fromthe wallsocket ;turnoffthewatertap.
Youareadvisednottoleaveyourlaundrytoolong,especially
whendamp. Damplaundryproduces moultandunpleasant
smells.
Moultstainscannotberemoved.
Sortyourlaundry.
Studycarefullythechartinthisbookletexplainingthesymbols
usedonclotheslabels(seepage6).
Thefollowingpointsareparticularlyimportant:
alineunderthebowlmeansthatthegarmentcannotbewashed
using programmes for resistant fabrics such as cotton and
linen;
donotmixcolouredgarmentswithwhites;
anticreasematerialslikepolyester/cottonshouldbetreatedas
synthetics;
non-resistantfabricslikeacrylicandmostcurtainmaterials
shouldbetreatedasdelicatefabrics;
thewoolprogrammeisdesignedspecificallyforpurenewwool.
Other types of wool and wool mixtures may shrink or felt if
machine-washed.
Woollengarmentsshould bespun brieflyimmediately after
washing.
Pre-wash
Pre-wash is not normally necessary. Your new washing
machinecombinedwithmoderndetergentswillgiveperfect
washingresultswithoutpre-wash,thussavingenergy,time,
wateranddetergent.
However,whenthelaundryisparticularlydirty(forexampleif
youhaveto washmechanics'overallsorbutchers' aprons),
youareadvisedtousepre-washwithabiologicaldetergent.
HINTS AND TIPS
Temperatures
Wesuggestthatwhitecottonandlinen,ifitisnotexcessively
soiled,canbewashedat60°insteadof90°C.Thereshouldbe
noreductioninperformance,buttherewillbeanenergysaving
ofapproximately30%.
Thesameappliestoalesserextenttofastcolouredgarments.
Theyusuallyrequireatemperatureof60°Cbutiftheyarenot
excessivelydirty,youwillhavesatisfactoryresultsat40°C.
Garments with non-fast colours should not be washed at
temperatures above 40°C. If fast and non-fast colours are
washedtogether,theyshouldbetreatedasnon-fastcolours
andthereforethetemperatureshouldnotexceed40°C.
Resistant white and coloured synthetics can normally be
washedat60°Cbutalsointhiscase40°Cissufficientifthe
laundryisnotexcessivelydirty.
Delicate synthetics, synthetics with non-fast colours and
woollengarmentsmustneverbewashedabove40°C.
Asyoualreadyknow,yourwashingmachinecanalsowash
with cold water. However, it must be remembered that the
detergentscurrentlyonthemarkethavenotbeendesignedfor
coldwashesandthatinwinter,when thewaterisverycold,
theymaynotdissolveadequately.
Wesuggesttheuseofliquiddetergents.
Howmuchlaundrycanbewashedinoneload?
Strictlyspeakingyoushouldalwaysweighyourlaundry.
Thedrumwilltakeamaximumof5kgofcottonandlinen.For
syntheticsanddelicatefabrics,themaximumloadis2,5kg
andforwool, 1kg.

Asweighingcanbecomplicated,wesuggestyouestimatethe
weightaccordingtohowfullthedrumis:
cottonandlinen:drumfullnottootightypacked
resistant synthetics :nomorethan2/3ofthedrum
delicatefabricsandwool: nomorethan1/2ofthedrum.
Beforeplacingthelaundryinthemachine:
mendalltears,holesandladders;
secureloosebuttonsandclosepoppersandzips;
donotwashfrayedgarments-mendhemsbeforewashing;
removeallsmallobjectsfrompockets.Nails,pins,clipsand
similarobjectscanseriouslydamageyourwashingmachine
andlaundry;
removecurtainhooks;
washcolouredgarmentsandinparticularthosewithnon-fast
coloursseparatelywhenwashingforthefirsttime.Theyare
likelytolosecolourthefirsttimetheyarewashed.
treatobstinatestainssuchasgrass,rust,tar,paint,inketc.
withastainremoverbeforewashing.
Toremovepaintstains,forexample,useavolatilesubstance
suchas turpentine:inthis case,you shouldwaitfor ittodry
completelybeforewashing.
Themanufacturerofyourwashingmachineisnotresponsible
foranydamagederivingfromtheuseofvolatile,inflammable
ortoxicsubstances.
Attheendofthewashing
Damp laundry should be dried as soon as possible after
finishingthewash.
Knitwearand woollensshould bedriedflatawayfromdirect
sunlight.
Detergentsandadditives
Goodwashingresultsalsodependonthechoiceofdetergent
anduseofthecorrectquantitiestoavoidwasteandprotectthe
environment.Althoughbiodegradable,detergentscontainsubs-
tances which in large quantities can damage the delicate
ecologicalbalanceofnature.
Alwaysusegoodqualitydetergentssuitableforusein
washingmachines.
Followtheindications givenby thedetergent manufacturer
accordingtotheweightoflaundry,thedegreeofsoilandthe
hardnessofthewaterinyourarea;ifyoudonotknowhowhard
itis,askyourlocalWaterAuthority.
Powderdetergents.
The washing powder should be placed in the appropriate
compartments of the dispenser drawer before starting the
programme.Specialdetergentsareavailaibleforcolouredand
delicatefabricsandforwool.
"Concentrated" powderdetergents
Pourtheconcentratedpowderdetergentintothemainwash
()compartment.
Avoidselectingprogrammesincludingprewashwhen
concentrateddetergentsareused.
Liquiddetergents
Usingthenewautomaticdispenserforliquiddetergents,itis
possibletousealiquiddetergentformainwashphases.
Liquiddetergentscanbeusedinsteadofpowderdetergents
particularly for lightly soiled laundry and for medium or low
temperaturewashingprogrammes,whileitisbettertousea
powder detergent for high temperature washing
programmes.
Liquidadditives
Anyliquidadditivesforsofteningthelaundrymustbepoured
into the compartment of the detergent dispenser drawer
beforestartingtheprogramme.
The addition of water softener is particularly useful when
dryingtheclothesinatumbledryerafterwashingtoavoida
staticcharge.
Bleach
Youmayuseableachagentinallthewashingprogrammes.
However,makesurethatthefabricwithstandsthetreatment.
Bleachisautomaticallywasheddownintothedrum.Pour1/

Bodywork
Theoutsideorthe machine can becleanedwithwarm
waterandaneutralnon-abrasivehouseholddetergent.
Wipewithcleanwateranddryafter cleaning.
Important : do not use methylated spirit, diluents or
similarproducts.
Itisadvisable,fromtimetotime,tocarryoutacomplete
cycle without a washing load, adding a decalcifying
product.
Thedetergentdispenser
The detergent dispenser is very easy to remove. Just
turn the two screws 1/4 of a turn and slide the box
towardsthetop(fig.1andfig.2).
Cleanthedetergentdispenserunderrunningwaterwith
abrushorapieceofrag(fig.3).
Repositionthedetergentdispenserintothelid andrefix
the two screws (fig.4 and fig.5).
Thedrainfilter
Themachinehasgotamecanicfilterlocatedonthefront
part to collect lint and small objects (toothpins, coins,
pins,etc)inadvertentlyleftintheclothes.Itisessential
thatthisfilteriscleanedregularly.
Frequencyofcleaningdependsonthetypeofarticles
washed(cleaningshouldbemorefrequentifthearticles
havenohemandtendtofray).
Opentheflapdoorcoveringthefilterbypressingtheleft
sideofthefilterdoor(fig.1).
Place a container underneath to catch any spillage.
According ot the models, complete the drain of the
appliancebytakingawaythecapandbyextractingthe
littlehoselocatedontheleftofthefilter(fig.2).
Turnthefilteranticlockwiseandcleanitthoroughlywith
runningwater(fig.3).
Refitthefilterin the guides andturnitclockwise.
Refitthelittlehoseansthecap,thenclosetheflapdoor.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is unplugged and
the water tap turned off before undertaking any kind of maintenance.
