Operating instructions
1. Place the laundry in the drum
lift up the lid of the machine
openthedrumwithyourtwohandsbypressingthebuttonA
andthetwoflapdoorstilltheydisengage.
introducethelaundryintothedrum;closethedrumandthe
lidofthemachine. Becareful: beforeclosingthelid
ofyourmachine,makesurethat
thedrumflapdoorsarecorrectly
closed:
thetwoflapdoorsfastened
the buttonApressedout.
2. Measure out the detergent
Measureoutthe amountof detergent recommendedby the
manufacturerinthemainwashcompartment( )
Ifyouwishtocarryoutaprewash,pourtheamountrequiredinto
theprewashcompartment( ).
DonotexceedtheMAXlevel.
3. Add the bleach agent
Youmayuseableachagentinallthewashingprogrammes.
However,makesurethatthefabricwithstandsthetreatment.
Bleachisautomaticallywasheddownintothedrum.pour1/4
to 1 glass of 12° chl bleach into compartment marked ( )
beforeswitchingthemachineon.
Makesurethattheleveloftheliquidneverexceedsthe
MAXlevel.
4. Add the fabric softener
Pourthesoftener,ifrequired,intothecompartment marked
().DonotexceedtheMAXlevel.
5. Press the half load pushbutton "" if
required.
6. Select the temperature
Choose the temperature which corresponds to the chosen
programme,withthehelpoftheindicationsortheprogramme
table,accordingtothefibersandthefastnessofthecolours.
7. Select the programme
Choosetheprogrammeaccordingtothenatureandthedegree
ofsoilof thelaundry.
Turntheprogrammeselectorclockwisetoselectthechosen
programme.
8. Starting of the programme
The ON/OFF pushbutton " " enables to switch on your
machine.
9. At the end of the programme
When the selected programme is over, the machine stops
automatically.Thetimerknobstopsontheposition"I"forthe
cottonprogrammes.Thesyntheticprogrammesendbyarinse
hold " ". You can finish these programmes by a spinning
(programme6)oradraining(programme12).Depresstheon/
offpushbutton" "beforedoingyourchoice.
After each wash, depress the on/off pushbutton.
Press off the pushbutton if necessary ; unplug the machine
fromthe wallsocket ;turnoffthewatertap.
Youareadvisednottoleaveyourlaundrytoolong,especially
whendamp. Damplaundryproduces moultandunpleasant
smells.
Moultstainscannotberemoved.
Sortyourlaundry.
Studycarefullythechartinthisbookletexplainingthesymbols
usedonclotheslabels(seepage6).
Thefollowingpointsareparticularlyimportant:
alineunderthebowlmeansthatthegarmentcannotbewashed
using programmes for resistant fabrics such as cotton and
linen;
donotmixcolouredgarmentswithwhites;
anticreasematerialslikepolyester/cottonshouldbetreatedas
synthetics;
non-resistantfabricslikeacrylicandmostcurtainmaterials
shouldbetreatedasdelicatefabrics;
thewoolprogrammeisdesignedspecificallyforpurenewwool.
Other types of wool and wool mixtures may shrink or felt if
machine-washed.
Woollengarmentsshould bespun brieflyimmediately after
washing.
Pre-wash
Pre-wash is not normally necessary. Your new washing
machinecombinedwithmoderndetergentswillgiveperfect
washingresultswithoutpre-wash,thussavingenergy,time,
wateranddetergent.
However,whenthelaundryisparticularlydirty(forexampleif
youhaveto washmechanics'overallsorbutchers' aprons),
youareadvisedtousepre-washwithabiologicaldetergent.
HINTS AND TIPS
Temperatures
Wesuggestthatwhitecottonandlinen,ifitisnotexcessively
soiled,canbewashedat60°insteadof90°C.Thereshouldbe
noreductioninperformance,buttherewillbeanenergysaving
ofapproximately30%.
Thesameappliestoalesserextenttofastcolouredgarments.
Theyusuallyrequireatemperatureof60°Cbutiftheyarenot
excessivelydirty,youwillhavesatisfactoryresultsat40°C.
Garments with non-fast colours should not be washed at
temperatures above 40°C. If fast and non-fast colours are
washedtogether,theyshouldbetreatedasnon-fastcolours
andthereforethetemperatureshouldnotexceed40°C.
Resistant white and coloured synthetics can normally be
washedat60°Cbutalsointhiscase40°Cissufficientifthe
laundryisnotexcessivelydirty.
Delicate synthetics, synthetics with non-fast colours and
woollengarmentsmustneverbewashedabove40°C.
Asyoualreadyknow,yourwashingmachinecanalsowash
with cold water. However, it must be remembered that the
detergentscurrentlyonthemarkethavenotbeendesignedfor
coldwashesandthatinwinter,when thewaterisverycold,
theymaynotdissolveadequately.
Wesuggesttheuseofliquiddetergents.
Howmuchlaundrycanbewashedinoneload?
Strictlyspeakingyoushouldalwaysweighyourlaundry.
Thedrumwilltakeamaximumof5kgofcottonandlinen.For
syntheticsanddelicatefabrics,themaximumloadis2,5kg
andforwool, 1kg.
