UseonlyaZEBEXapprovedbatteries.
Usinganyothertypeofbatteryandchargingequipmentmaydamagethe
deviceandinvalidatethewarranty.
Storebatteriesathalfoffullchargeinadry,coolplace,removedfromthe
equipmenttopreventlossofcapacity,rustingofmetallicpartsand
electrolyteleakage.
Whenbatteriesarestoredoversix(6)months,someirreversible
deteriorationinoverallbatteryqualitymayoccur.
Whenstoringbatteriesforoverayear,thechargelevelshouldbeverifiedat
leastonceevery6monthsandchargedtohalfoffullcharge.

Theareainwhichtheunitsarechargedshouldbeclearofdebrisand
combustiblematerialsorchemicals. Particularcareshouldbetakenwhere
thedeviceischargedinanon‐commercialenvironment.
Followbatteryusage,storage,andchargingguidelinesfoundintheuser
guide.
Improperbatteryusemayresultinafire,explosion,orotherhazard.
Tochargethedevicebattery,thebatteryandchargertemperaturemustbe
between0℃~+45℃
Donotuseincompatiblebatteriesandchargers.Useofanincompatible
batteryorchargermaypresentariskoffire,explosion,leakage,orthe
hazard.
Donotdisassembleoropen,crush,bendordeform,puncture,orshred.
Severeimpactfromdroppinganybattery‐operateddeviceonahardsurface
couldcausethebatterytooverheat.
Donotshortcircuitabatteryorallowmetallicorconductiveobjectsto
contactthebatteryterminals.
Donotmodifyorremanufacture,attempttoinsertforeignobjectsintothe

Thesearerecommendationstoextendthelifeofthebatterypack:
Whenchargingthebatteryforthefirsttime,chargeforatleast12hoursprior
touse.
Removethebatteryifthedeviceisnotgoingtobeusedforalongtime.Ifthe
batteryisleftunusedformorethan3months,youneedtochargethe
batterybeforeuse.
Ifthebatteryisnotinstalled,rechargethebatteryevery6monthstoprevent
damagetothebatterycells.
Thebatterycapacityisreducedattemperatureextremes,highandlow.

InsertingBattery
1. Pushthelocklevertounlockthebatterylock.
2. Removethebatterycoverfromthedatacollector.
3. Insertthebatterywiththetopsideinfirstthenthesidewithbatterycontact.
Thebatteryisheldinplacebyasmalllockonthebottomofthecompartment.
Pushthebatteryinuntilitclicksintoplace.
4. Slidethebatterycoverbackontosecurethebattery.
ChargingtheBattery
1. PlaceZ‐9000onthecradle.
2. Connectthepoweradaptertothecradleandtoawalloutlet.
3. BatterystatusontheLCDscreenindicatesthatyourbatteryischarging.

FollowtheinstructionsbelowtoinstallZACdriveronyourcomputer.
1. ConnectthedevicetoyourcomputerviaUSBcradle.
2. Awindowappearsinthebottomright‐handcornerofWindowsthatsays“Found
newhardware”.Inafewsecondsa"FoundNewHardwareWizard"window
opensup.Doubleclickthefoundnewhardwareicontopullupthewindowifit
doesnotappearautomatically.Select"No,notthistime"tocontinue.
3. Click"Next"tocontinueinstallation.
4. Click“Installfromalistorspecificlocation(Advanced)”andclick“Next”.
5. Checkthe“Includethislocation”optionanduse“Browse”tolocatethedriverin
yourcomputer.Click“Next”togotothenextstep.
6. Click“Next”and“Finish”whentheinstallationisdone.

Tousethesoftwaresuppliedwiththedatacollector,itmustbeconnectedtoaPC.
ConnectingviaCradle
ToconnectthedatacollectortoaPCviacradle:
1. PlacethedatacollectoronthecradleandconnectthecradletoPCusingtheUSB
cable.
2. ThePCshouldauto‐detectthedeviceasaCOMdeviceandaskforthedriverwhen
connectingthefirsttime.
3. PleasedownloadandinstallthedriverfromZEBEXwebsite.Thesystemshould
assignaCOMporttothedeviceafterthedriverinstallation.
Connectthepoweradaptertothecradlewhennecessary.
Makesuretheunitisturnedonafterthecableisconnected.
ChecktheCOMandLPTsectioninthedevicemanagerfortheassignedCOM
port.Thedatacollectorshouldappearasavirtualcomdevice.
RunningtheDeviceonPC
1. InstallandrunZAConyourPC.
2. MakesurethevirtualCOMportdriverisinstalled.
3. RunanyconnectionprogramonZAC.FormoredetailspleaseseetheZACUser’s
Manual.
4. CheckthedevicemanageronyourPCfortheCOMportandsetthesamevalue
inZACSettingtoconnectthedevice.
