XiVE plus Implant System – Designed for accelerated treatment with high
primary stability in all bone qualities.
The XiVE plus D 3.0 Implant is an option uniquely designed for narrow
restorative spaces (congenitally missing or post-orthodontic maxillary
lateral incisor spaces, as well as mandibular central and lateral incisors),
in a two-piece design.
XiVE TG plus Implants – The transgingival alternative to implant retained
dentures in a day.
Information regarding the materials involved in implants, system
components and instrumentation is given in the form of a reference
number after every article (e.g. FRIADENT Gingiva Former2). Please refer
to page 71 for an overview of the materials and composition of the

MACRO-DESIGN
The parallel-wall, designed for internal condensation of the peri-implant bone, prevents
trauma and increases the implant’s primary stability, even in spongy bone.
MICRO-DESIGN
The innovative thread design of the XiVE plus Implant, when combined with the bone-
class-specific preparation of the implant site, provides torque stabilization in all bone
qualities.
PLUS SURFACE DESIGN
DENTSPLY FRIADENT pioneered the first micro-retentive grit-blasted/acid-etched titanium
surface over 15 years ago. Today, this surface design still stands true. Our latest implant
surface technology, FRIADENT plus, is the result of osseointegration research, combined
with DENTSPLY FRIADENT’s expertise in the field of micro- and macro- structured
surfaces. Scientists and clinicians agree, implant surfaces can be an essential component
for the long-term success of implant treatment, due to interactions at the implant-to-
bone interface. They also agree that initial cellular mechanisms such as migration,
adhesion, proliferation and differentiation have an important impact on bone formation,
quality, density and bone-to-implant contact. DENTSPLY FRIADENT focused its research
on developing a homogenous surface morphology that may positively influence cell
attachment and bone apposition.

AS FLEXIBLE AS NECESSARY
Our goal is to make implant dentistry treatment simple, fast and as
easy as possible for you and your patients. XiVE plus Implants offer an
accelerated procedure with multiple prosthetic options, without requiring
expensive and complicated surgical or laboratory techniques. XiVE plus
Implants combine increased primary stability with the standardized
FRIADENT prosthetic platform (which includes an option for immediate
loading).* Through its thread design and simplified surgical procedure,
the XiVE System offers an implant for all types of bone. The internal
implant abutment connection, which has been in use for over 10 years,
is fully compatible with FRIADENT prosthetic components.
* Immediate loading is restricted to the anterior mandible, based on
four intraforaminally placed implants, and not indicated for single,
unsplinted implants. Patients must be subject for dental treatment with
endosseous implants.

FRIADENT STERILE PACKAGING FOR XiVE PLUS IMPLANTS
All FRIADENT Implants are gamma sterilized and packed in, sealed transparent double
vials. An adhesive label seals the color-coded cap to the non-sterile outer vial. The
outermost blister pack is also non-sterile.

THE XiVE DELIVERY SYSTEM OFFERS “TOUCH-FREE”
IMPLANT DELIVERY:
1. Remove the outer vial cap (non-sterile) and drop the sterile inner vial onto
the surgical tray.
2. Remove the silicone stopper from the sterile inner vial. The implant cover screw
is located in the silicone stopper of the sterile inner vial.
3. Place the XiVE ratchet or hand piece seating instrument D 3.4 into the internal
hex of the FRIADENT TempBase.
4. Remove the implant via the TempBase. Try to avoid touching the inner vial
with the implant.
5. By doing so, the plastic implant holder splits and falls away.
6. Insert the XiVE plus Implant, as outlined in the Instructions For Use.
All XiVE plus Implants are pre-mounted with the FRIADENT TempBase for delivery of
the implant to the osteotomy.
To rotate the XiVE plus Implant into place, use the FRIADENT Implant Driver for either
the ratchet or hand piece. Once the implant is seated, the TempBase Retaining Screw
is loosened with the 0.9 mm FRIADENT Hex Driver. Then the TempBase is removed,
or utilized for temporary restoration.
The cover screw for XiVE plus Implants is located in the silicone stopper of the inner
sterile vial.
Cover screws are placed with the 0.9 mm FRIADENT Hex Driver.
The undamaged label indicates that the sterile package
has not been opened and ensures product sterility.

FRIADENT TEMPBASE
The FRIADENT TempBase serves as an implant holder, delivery tool or provisional
abutment. It comes standard with the XiVE plus Implant.
XiVE
All XiVE Drills utilize internal irrigation. Replace the drills after approximately
20 uses, or if they become damaged or dull.
Once the appropriate diameter has been reached, the crestal implant design leads
to an internal condensation of bone in the implant site, increasing primary stability.
The crestal twist drill should be used to decrease friction and compressive forces,
especially in dense bone.
In DI and DII bone, pre-tapping for the implant threads is required after crestal
preparation to further reduce friction and compressive force. Therefore, the XiVE
Tap (see page 17) must also be used.
