General
The SCM-MIM is a six i put module that is desig ed to be DIN mou ted i side of a Smart Co ect Multi-loop co trol
pa el. It’s powered a d i terfaced to the pa el via a RJ45 co ectio . The module has six class B i puts that are
commo ly used to mo itor a d raise alarms from a y a cillary equipme t such as spri kler flow switches, aspiratio
detectors, seco dary fire co trol pa els, beam detectors, a d exter al power supplies etc. The module mo itors a d
tra smits the status ( ormal, ope , short, or alarm) of i puts to the co trol pa el. Each i put ca be programmed to
either give a alarm or tech ical alarm sig al whe active.
Installation
1. E sure that the i stallatio area is free from a y cables or wires that may get caught, a d that there is e ough
space o the DIN rail to mou t the module. Also e sure that the DIN clip u der eath the module is i the ope
positio .
2. Place the module o to the DIN rail, hooki g the metal earth clip u der eath o to the rail first.
3. O ce the earth clip is hooked, push the bottom of the module o to the rail so that the module sits flat.
4. Push the plastic DIN clip (located at the bottom of the module) upwards to lock a d secure the module i to
positio .
5. O ce the module is secured to the DIN rail, simply co ect the supplied CAT5E cable to the module’s RJ45 port.
6. Co ect the other e d of CAT5E cable to the earest u occupied RJ45 port o the termi atio PCB.
ATTENTION: THE PANEL MUST BE POWERED DOWN AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERIES BEFORE
INSTALLING OR REMOVING ANY MODULES.

TRM RJ45 Port Address Designation
Each RJ45 port o the Smart Co ect Multi-loop termi atio has its ow u ique port address. This port address is
importa t to keep ote of as it is displayed o Alarm/Fault messages a d is used whe co figuri g or setti g up
cause a d effects o the pa el (See SCM operatio ma ual GLT-261-7-10).
Sec ring the mod les
The modules are desig ed to clip together to make them more secure. I additio , the SCM pa el is supplied with
Di rail stoppers. These should be fitted before the first module, a d after the last module o each rail.
Before Powering the Panel On
1. To preve t the risk of a spark, do ot co ect the batteries. O ly co ect the batteries after poweri g o the
system from its mai AC supply.
2. Check that all exter al field wiri g is clear from a y ope , shorts a d grou d faults.
3. Check that all the modules have bee i stalled properly, with correct co ectio s a d placeme t
4. Check that all switches a d jumper li ks are at their correct setti gs.
5. Check that all i terco ectio cables are plugged i properly, a d that they are secure.
6. Check that the AC power wiri g is correct.
7. E sure that the pa el chassis has bee correctly earth grou ded.
Before poweri g o from the mai AC supply, make sure that the fro t pa el door is closed

Power on Proced re
1. After the above has bee completed, tur the pa el o (Via AC O ly). The pa el will follow the same power up
seque ce described i i itial power up sectio above

2. The ew module is ow co figured i to the pa el a d is ready for use.
3. Si ce the batteries are ot co ected, the pa el will report them as removed, lighti g the yellow “Fault” LED,
i termitte tly sou di g the Fault buzzer, a d displayi g battery removed message o the scree .
4. Co ect the batteries, e suri g that the polarity is correct (Red wire = +ve) & (Black wire = -ve). Ack owledge
the Fault eve t via the display scree , a d reset the pa el to clear the battery fault.
5. The pa el should ow remai i the ormal co ditio , a d you ca co figure the pa el as ormal.

removable to make wiring easier.
