General
The SCM-RM is rel y module th t is designed to be DIN mounted inside of Sm rt Connect Multi-loop control
p nel. It’s powered nd is interf ced to the p nel vi RJ45 connection. The module h s three form C rel ys which
c n be typic lly used to control lift oper tion during n l rm, st rt fire pumps or stop ventil tion f ns etc. E ch rel y
output c n be configured s common l rm, common f ult, common technic l l rm or progr mm ble output
vi the Sm rt Connect Multi-loop settings.
Installation
1. Ensure th t the inst ll tion re is free from ny c bles or wires th t m y get c ught, nd th t there is enough
sp ce on the DIN r il to mount the module. Also ensure th t the DIN clip underne th the module is in the open
position.
2. Pl ce the module onto the DIN r il, hooking the met l e rth clip underne th onto the r il first.
3. Once the e rth clip is hooked, push the bottom of the module onto the r il so th t the module sits fl t.
4. Push the pl stic DIN clip (loc ted t the bottom of the module) upw rds to lock nd secure the module into
position.
5. Once the module is secured to the DIN r il, simply connect the supplied CAT5E c ble to the module’s RJ45 port.
6. Connect the other end of CAT5E c ble to the ne rest unoccupied RJ45 port on the termin tion PCB.
ATTENTION: THE PANEL MUST BE POWERED DOWN AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERIES BEFORE
INSTALLING OR REMOVING ANY MODULES.

TRM RJ45 Port Address Designation
E ch RJ45 port on the Sm rt Connect Multi-loop termin tion h s its own unique port ddress. This port ddress is
import nt to keep note of s it is displ yed on Al rm/F ult mess ges nd is used when configuring or setting up
c use nd effects on the p nel (See SCM oper tion m nu l GLT-261-7-10).
Se uring the modules
The modules re designed to clip together to m ke them more secure. In ddition, the SCM p nel is supplied with
Din r il stoppers. These should be fitted before the first module, nd fter the l st module on e ch r il.
Before Powering the Panel On
1. To prevent the risk of sp rk, do not connect the b tteries. Only connect the b tteries fter powering on the
system from its m in AC supply.
2. Check th t ll extern l field wiring is cle r from ny open, shorts nd ground f ults.
3. Check th t ll the modules h ve been inst lled properly, with correct connections nd pl cement
4. Check th t ll switches nd jumper links re t their correct settings.
5. Check th t ll interconnection c bles re plugged in properly, nd th t they re secure.
6. Check th t the AC power wiring is correct.
7. Ensure th t the p nel ch ssis h s been correctly e rth grounded.
Before powering on from the m in AC supply, m ke sure th t the front p nel door is closed

Power on Pro edure
1. After the bove h s been completed, turn the p nel on (Vi AC Only). The p nel will follow the s me power up
sequence described in initi l power up section bove
2. The p nel will now displ y one of the following mess ges

1. Check th t the module configur tion is s expected using the 

 nd 

 to n vig te the through the port
numbers. Press the 

 icon to confirm the ch nges.
2. The new module is now configured into the p nel nd is re dy for use.
3. Since the b tteries re not connected, the p nel will report them s removed, lighting the yellow “F ult” LED,
intermittently sounding the F ult buzzer, nd displ ying b ttery removed mess ge on the screen.
4. Connect the b tteries, ensuring th t the pol rity is correct (Red wire = +ve) & (Bl ck wire = -ve). Acknowledge
the F ult event vi the displ y screen, nd reset the p nel to cle r the b ttery f ult.
5. The p nel should now rem in in the norm l condition, nd you c n configure the p nel s norm l.

NOTE:
The terminal blocks are
removable to make wiring easier.
ATTENTION: DO NOT EXCEED POWER SUPPLY RATINGS, OR MAXIMUM CURRENT RATINGS.

SCM

RM relay is configured as an alarm output it will act as a common alarm relay
and cannot be controlled by cause and effect.
