Part No. 557.202.845
Introduction
The FBI800 is suitable for use with the Profile
Pro range of panels. The FBI800 performs the fol-
lowing functions:
Connects the serial Fire Brigade Panel (FBF/
FAT) according to DIN 14661 / DIN 14662
standards via redundant serial interfaces and
redundant monitored 24V power supply
paths.
Connects the parallel Fire Brigade Panel (FBF)
according to DIN 14661 standard.

FBI800 PROFILE Fire detection system
Connects the Fire Brigade Key Depot (FBKD)
according to DIN 14675 standard.
Connects the Transmit Unit (TU) which trans-
mits the fire alarm to the fire brigade control
centre.
Features
The FBI800 slot card is used as the interface
between the panel and standard fire brigade
interfaces. It operates with its own system
address and communicates with MCPU on
PFI800 over the internal N-Bus.
One FBI800 card can be used in the panel. This
supports a single serial FBF / FAT. In a system
with several panels, each panel can have an
FBI800 with its own FBKD, TU and FBF/FAT
equipment.
Cabling requirements
Use shielded cables to connect the FBF / FAT,
FBKD and TU peripherals to FBI800 card. Select
all cables in accordance with local standards.
Connect the cable shields to the panel earth
stud. At the peripherals, connect the shields to
the earth stud or follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
Maximum cable resistance
Installation
To install the FBI800 module, complete the fol-
lowing steps:
1 Set the optional jumper J2 to the desired set-
ting. See Table 2.
2 Set the optional SW3 DIP switches 5, 6 to
their default positions. Refer to Table 3.
CAUTION
Do not connect the FBKD and TU directly
to the serial FBF or serial FAT peripherals.
They are not accessible in the case of
system fault of the microprocessor on
FBI800 slot card.

3 Set the optional SW3 DIP switches 7, 8
according to project configuration. Refer to
Table 3.
4 The FBI800 slot card is pre-assembled. To
mount it, line it against the side rails of the
slot in the backplane cage. Slide the card
backwards until it clicks and ensure that it fits
firmly. For more information on slot cards,
see the PROFILE panel Product Application
and Design Information.
5 Connect the Fire Brigade peripherals. Refer to
Figures 3 to 6.
Firmware Update
If a firmware update is required, refer to the
steps in the relevant Technical Information Bulle-
tin (TIB).
Table 3 lists the DIP switch settings for a firm-
ware update. The operational default settings of
the DIP switches are marked by *.
Slot card addressing
One FBI800 card can be installed in the control
panel. The FBI800 has its own configured sys-
tem address. Refer to Table 4 for the decimal to
