WirelessBridge/ExtenderInformation
Awirelessbridgeisanetworkdevicethatconnectstoanexistingwirelessnetworkandthenconvertsthe
wirelessnetworksignalintoawiredone(CAT‐5).Awirelessextenderisanetworkdevicethatextendstherange
ofanexistingwirelessrouter’ssignal.
FollowtheseinstructionstosetuptheZuniDigitalWirelessBridge.Forbestperformance,werecommendsetting
uptheZuniConnectBridgeclosetowhereyouintendtouseit.ForthebestresultsdonotplacetheZuniDigital
TravelConnectnearanylargemetalobjectsormagnets(likethosefoundinspeakers).Alsonotethat
elevatingthetravelrouterfromthefloorwillincreasewirelessbroadcastsignalperformanceandrange.
Step1–AttachAntennas
Removetheprotectivefilmfromthesurgeprotectorandattachthe(2)SMAantennastothemainbody.The
antennasshouldbesecure,butdonotover‐tightenthem.
Step2–PowerON
PlugthesurgeprotectorintoawalloutletandthenfliptheMainPowerSwitchtotheRESET/ONposition.Then
slidetheEthernetBridgeGreenPowerModetotheCONSTANTposition.
Step3–AttachRJ‐45EthernetCable
PlugoneendofanRJ‐45Ethernetcableintoport#1onthewirelessbridge,andthenplugtheotherendofthe
cableintoacomputer’sEthernetport.Thiscomputerwillbeusedtoconfigurethewirelessbridgeandthus
connectittoanexistingwirelessnetwork.

Step4–BeginWirelessBridgeSetup
(Ifthesetupcomputerhasawirelessnetworkadapterinstalled,disableorpoweritOFFbeforecontinuingwith
thisstep)
PowerONthesetupcomputer(orRESTARTitifalreadyON).Oncethecomputerhasfinishedbootingup,wait
approximately45secondsforthewirelessbridgetoassignthesetupcomputeranIPaddress.ThisIPaddressis
whatallowsyoutolog‐intothewirelessbridgetoconfigureit.
Step5–AccessWebConfigurationUtility
Fromthesetupcomputer,openaWebbrowser(InternetExplorer,Firefox,orSafari)thentype192.168.222.1
intotheaddressbarandpresstheENTERkey.
Step6–LogIntotheWirelessBridge
IntheloginwindowkeyinthedefaultUserName(admin)andPassword(admin)andclicktheOKbutton.This
willlogyouintothewirelessbridgeconfigurationutility.
Step7–SiteSurvey
Thewirelessbridgewillautomaticallysearchforavailablewirelessnetworkswithinrange.
Step8–SelectWirelessNetwork
Selectthewirelessnetworkthatyouwanttoconnecttofromtheoneslisted,andthenclicktheCONNECT
button.Ifthedesiredwirelessnetworkisnotlisted,verifythatitisoperationalandclicktheREFRESHbutton.
Step9–ApplySecuritySettings
Iftheselectedwirelessnetworkusesdataencryption,youwillberequiredtoenteraPassKey(password)in
ordertoconnectthewirelessbridgetotheexistingwirelessnetwork.Ifprompted,pleasekeyinthenetwork’s
PassKeyandclicktheAPPLYbutton.
Step10–InitializeWirelessConnection
Thewirelessbridgewillautomaticallyinitializetheconnectiontotheselectedwirelessnetwork,andalsosetup
andactivatethewirelessextenderfunction.Pleasewaitabout2minutesforthisprocesstocomplete.
Step11–InitializationComplete
Oncetheinitializationprocessiscompleteandthewirelessextendermodehasbeenactivated,clicktheNEXT
buttontofinalizeandsavethesettings.
Step12–FinalizeConnection
Thewirelessbridgewillautomaticallyfinalizetheconnectiontotheselectedwirelessnetworkandsavethe
settings.Pleasewaitabout3minutesforthisprocesstocomplete.
Step13–ExitSetup
Oncetheconnectiontothewirelessnetworkhasbeenfinalized,clicktheEXITSETUPbutton,whichwillredirect
youtotheZuniDigitalwebsite.Ifthepageloadscorrectlythewirelessbridgeifproperlyconfiguredforyou

connectionwithyourwirelessnetworkandyoumaycannowusethebridgeanywherewithinthebroadcast
rangeofthewirelessnetworkitiscurrentlyconnectedto.

Followtheseinstructionstoconnectyourwirelessenableddevicestothesurgeprotector’swirelessextender.
Step1–ScanfortheWirelessExtender’sSSID(networkname)
Fromawirelessenableddevice,suchasasmartphone,laptop,netbook,tabletpc,etc.,scanforthewireless
extender’sSSID(networkname).Thewirelessextender’sSSIDwillbethesameSSIDthewirelessbridgeis
currentlyconnectedtowitha“2”attheend.ForExample:Ifthewirelessbridgeiscurrentlyconnectedtothe
“Mary’sRouter”network,thenthewirelessextenderwouldbroadcastanSSIDof“Mary’sRouter2”.
Step2–SelectSSIDandConnect
Selectthewirelessextender’sSSIDandthenconnectyourwirelessenableddevice(s)asyounormallywould.
PLEASENOTETHATTHEWIRELESSEXTENDERWILLUSETHESAMESECURITYSETTINGSANDASSOCIATED
INFORMATIONASTHEWIRELESSNETWORKTHEBRIDGEISCURRENTLYCONNECTEDTO.
