The bluebox Eurorack Edition Quick Start Guide 1.0
1. Insert the micro SD card, notched edge away from the
screen.
2. Attach the two ribbon cables to the module as shown on the
right. Position the red edge of each ribbon cable on the side
marked by the arrows.
3. Turn off your Eurorack and attach the two cables to the
Eurorack power supply, with the red edge of the cable
aligned with pin 1 or the -12V pins on the power supply bus.
This module requires the +5V rail which may not be present
on some older racks. It uses 500-850mA at +5V (depending
on screen brightness), 320 mA at +12V, and 82mA at -12V.
4. Mount bluebox in the rack and then power it up. The bluebox will load a demo project from
the microSD card.
5. Connect audio ins and outs along the left side of the front panel and to the USB C EXT port.
6. Choose a meter bridge layout. Push MIXER, then push B. Touch to select the number of
tracks, and Single Row or Double Row display mode.
7. Map inputs to tracks. Push TRACK and then push B. Touch a track at the top of the screen,
then, in the bottom grid, touch 1 or 2 of the inputs.
8. Name your tracks. Push TRACK and then push B. Touch a track to select it. Touch the
number or name in the middle of the screen to enter a new name.
9. Use MIXER mode or TRACK mode to adjust the gain and volume level of each track.
10. Save your changes as a new project. Push Proj, then touch File, SaveAs Template, and enter a
new name.

Push MIXER to see the multi-track view. Select a Track Setting across the bottom, then set the
value of that option by dragging a track or turning the knob for that track.
TRACK SETTINGS
Touch to select an option to
control for the highlighted tracks.
Push MIXER to toggle between
two Control Option panels.
INDICATOR ARROW
Shows the value of the selected
control option for a track.
SELECTED TRACK
Touch one track to
select it for control.
ARMED TRACK
Red tracks are armed
for recording.
KNOB FOCUS
Turn the four hardware knobs
to control the four settings in
the pink focus ring. Push A
button or tap a setting to
move the focus ring.
MODE BUTTONS
Tap a button to
change it’s state.
MUTED TRACK
Gray tracks are muted.
METER BRIDGE
Touch to change knob
focus. Drag left and right
or up and down to change
level for track.
KNOB FOCUS
Turn a knob to set the value of the selected control option
(e.g. VOL) for the corresponding track in the pink knob
focus group. Push A to change the Knob Focus.
MIXER MODE: CONTROL ONE SETTING ACROSS MULTIPLE TRACKS
TRACK MODE: CONTROL ALL SETTINGS FOR ONE TRACK AT A TIME
ENTER SLEEP MODE
CHECK AVAILABLE SPACE ON THE MICROSD CARD
Push TRACK to enter the single track mode. Here you can adjust all of the settings for one track
at a time.
In sleep mode, the bluebox stops sending signals to the outputs and darkens the screen,
reducing power consumption. To enter sleep mode press and hold B until the screen goes dark.
To wake up, push any button.
Push TOOLS. The space remaining on the microSD card is displayed in the top left corner.

Mute
Touch to mute the
output.
3 & 4
If 3&4 Mode is Stereo,
controls OUTS 3 & 4.
If 3&4 Mode is Mono,
controls OUT 3.

MANAGE PROJECTS
The bluebox stores all of your settings and the collection of WAV recordings as a project on the
microSD card. Recorded WAV les will stay with your project, but you must save the project if
you want other changes to persist.
To Save the Current Project:
1. Push PROJ.
2. Touch Save.
To Manage Project Settings:
1. Push PROJ, then push B.
2. Use a top knob to select a parameter and a
bottom knob to change it’s value.
3. Touch the tabs across the bottom to access
MIDI and CV settings.
To Manage Projects:
1. Push PROJ.
2. Touch File.
3. Touch the le option you want: New,
SaveAs Template, or Rename.
To Load a Different Project:
1. Push PROJ.
2. Turn a knob to select a project.
3. Touch Load. Note: Load is disabled for the
currently loaded project.

1. Push MIXER. Touch Rec at the bottom. Touch tracks or the Main
meter to arm them for recording. Armed tracks have a red frame.
2. Hold REC and push PLAY to start recording.
3. Push STOP to end recording. The recordings are saved to the
microSD card as WAV les, one for each track and one for the Main.
Push STOP a second time to reset the playback position to the
beginning.
4. Disarm a track for recording and push PLAY to play the latest
recording for all unarmed tracks.
5. Push EDIT to see the recording timeline and playback position.
6. Push B from the Edit screen to see the list of recordings for each
track. Main recordings are not listed here and do not play back.
7. Turn a knob to select a recording for a track. Push A to toggle the
Active playback state. The Active recording will play when you push
PLAY and the corresponding track is not armed for recording.
8. Touch File to access le management features like Rename and
Delete.
9. Take the microSD card to your computer or other device to work
with the WAV les. The les are stored in the folder
\Projects\<Project Name> as 24 bit, 48kHz WAV les.

Recorded Files
Include a 24 bit, 48 kHz .WAV le in your mix by adding the le to a track:
1. Push Edit, push B, and then touch File and Add.
2. Use a knob to select a folder or le and then touch Load to navigate into the folder or add
the le to the track. Touch ^ to navigate back in the folder structure.
3. Push A to toggle the Active state of a le.
4. Push Play to play all Active WAV les for all tracks that are not armed for recording.
