1 Product description
The SlideDriver is a 3-axis control element, which is suitable both for rapid movement of the stage
and sensitive positioning in the sub-µ range.
The adjustable coaxial drive allows for ergonomic adjustment of friction and height.
The function keys arranged on both sides facilitate operation for left-handed and right-handed
operation.
Main features of the device:
•high-resolution, proportional positioning
•fast and sensitive positioning across the entire travel range
•additional ratchet wheel for coarse adjustment of the Z-focus (12 predefined settings)
•ergonomic adjustment for friction and height
•symmetrical design for both left- and right-handed operation

All information required for clear identification of the SlideDriver is provided on the type label. The
type label is attached to the bottom side of the SlideDriver.

Buttons 3-5 are positioned both left and right and are
switched parallel. This enables both left-handed and
right-handed operation.

2 Adjustment
2.1 Height of the coaxial drive
2.2 Friction of the coaxial drive
Y-axis: Firmly hold Y-knob (1) and adjust knurled
bar (2) clockwise to reduce friction of the Y-knob;
adjust anti-clockwise to increase.
X-axis: Shift X-knob (3) down as far as it will go.
Firmly hold X-knob (3) and adjust knurled bar (4)
clockwise to increase friction of the X-knob; adjust
anti-clockwise to reduce.
The coaxial drive is adjustable in vertical position.
To change the vertical position of the X- and Y-knob,
slide them along the drive axis into the designated
position.

Y-axis: Turn the Y-knob (1) to move samples in the Y-
direction.
X-axis: Turn the X-knob (2) to move samples in the X-
direction.
The Z-stack wheel (1) serves for fine adjustment of
the Z-focus.
Turn the Z-stack wheel clockwise and/or counter-
clockwise until the focus is in the desired alignment.

The ratchet wheel (1) serves for coarse adjustment of
the Z-focus. 12 predefined settings are available.
The current alignment can be read off at the
SlideDriver from the right and left side, each time
below the arrow.
Turn the ratchet wheel to the right and/or left side
until the desired setting.
Button 1: Move to the next slide
Button 2: Move to the previous slide
Button 3: Create annotation

4 Cleaning
Clean the SlideDriver with a lint-free cleaning cloth. In case of increased pollution, slightly moisten
the cloth with water or a mild, solvent-free disinfection/cleaning agent.
5 Maintenance
Your SlideDriver requires no maintenance. Should irregularities or malfunction occur please contact
our support via e-mail to support@3dhistech.com.
Warning!
Possible damage of the device by liquid entry!
Make sure that no liquids can enter the inside of the SlideDriver. Protect the connector
on the rear side of the SlideDriver from liquids.
