Only profe ional in taller acknowledged by A.O.SMITH are permitted to in tall the torage
electrical water heater. If the water heater i in talled with elf-prepared in tallation material or by
un-authorized per onnel, A.O.SMITH will not be re pon ible for all lo e incurred thereby,
including but not limited to pipeline leakage, fall or improper in tallation that may affect normal
operation and performance of water heater.
The torage electrical water heater i for re idential application. Therefore, it may affect life expec-
tation if it i u ed for commercial application.
After in tallation and operation of the torage electrical water heater, u er hould in pect the
y tem regularly and make nece ary maintenance according to operation condition . If any abnor-
mality occur , plea e top operation immediately, and contact local authorized dealer for repair to
en ure the normal, afe, and reliable operation of the water heater.
The anode rod i a con umable part and it i generally ugge ted to check and replace the anode rod
every 2 or 3 year . U er could contact the local authorized dealer for check and replacement to
extend life expectation of water heater.
Prior to any maintenance or repair of the torage electrical water heater, plea e cut off power
upply. Unauthorized per onnel are not permitted to adju t and repair the heater.
In ca e the water heater i ubject to dry heating, the generated team or burning water might lead
to eriou cald. Therefore, it i nece ary to fill the water heater with water. If dry heating
occur , cut off the power and water upply at once, top the operation,contact local authorized
dealer.and carry out in pection or repair by our company recommended profe ional in taller .
In ca e of any component oaked by water, the water heater i not permitted to u e until checked by
authorized ervice taff.
Main component of the torage electrical heater are protected by in ulation material to en ure
afety u e. Any damaged power cord hould be replaced by authorized ervice taff.
The pre ure relief valve, equipped on the torage electrical water heater, i forbidden to change
in tallation po ition or be blocked. Di charge pipe i required to connect the valve and down toward
floor drain.
In ca e of any fault of pha e line and neutral line ,the power-off protection y tem will cut off the
connection between water heater and electric upply circuit in tantaneou ly. Plea e top u ing, pull
the plug, and contact local authorized dealer.
Thi i only uitable for the model with the power-off protection y tem.
Water, including hot water, out of the torage electrical water heater i not permitted for drinking.
Electricity for the torage electrical water heater hould be upplied by independent branch of
circuit, of which electricity meter, breaker, maximum current need to be checked by profe ional
electrician in advance.


Damaged electric wire, aged, loo e and unfixed ocket are not ugge ted to be u ed becau e of the

Warning:the water heater i not permitted for u e without reliable ground wire
circuit for power ocket. In ca e of the power indicator light off , plea e immedi-
ately top u ing, pull plug and contact local authorized dealer. Well-drained floor
drain i e ential to prevent the damage to urrounding or down tair in ca e of
leakage of heater or joint.
Power ocket hould be located at a dry place, and power cord hould not be pu hed or pulled with
wet hand to avoid the danger of electric hock.


A afety valve hown in fig.1 (Model G1/2-0.8, default 0.8MPa, not adju table by u er) i equipped
on inlet tube of torage electrical water heater. The valve will relieve pre ure automatically when
piping y tem pre ure exceed the etting point. Di charge pipe i required to connect the valve in a
fro tle environment and down toward floor drain, and in any ca e the pipe hould not be blocked.

If no operation i performed within 3 minute , the water heater enter into a dormant tate.
Touch control panel i u ed for ea y operation of thi water heater. It di play electrical energy
con umption, et temperature, actual temperature, timer etc. The u er can elect the et temperature
within the range of 35°C - 75°C.


The heater may be hidden in the u pended ceiling to ave pace,and the wired remote control
can be in talled at a vi ible and convenient place.The wired remote control can be mounted
on the wall or imbedded in the wall.

Thi water heater ha three type of heating mode .
Selection can be made ba ed on the ea on and purpo e of hot
water, more convenient and energy- aving.
1. "STANDARD": Heat the full tank water at lower power mode.
2. "SINGLE": Provide half tank hot water rapidly to uffice ingle hower requirement.
3. "MULTIPLE": Provide full tank hot water rapidly to uffice multiple hower requirement.

When the water heater i in timer mode, pre the " in tant " key and the water heater enter the heating
tate immediately. The heating indicator glow , when the temperature pre et by u er i reached, the
water heater return to the tate before etting. Al o to exit from the in tant heating mode, pre the
"in tant" key again.

Once the mounting, plumbing, power connection and water filling i done, then only
the power upply hould be given. The tep need to be followed a per the u er
guide.


Thi water heater hould be in talled at a location that i clo e to power ocket, floor drain and
water utili ation point. A the outlet of the relief valve might di charge water during the
operation of the water heater , therefore the floor drain hould be provided near the water
heater . In the in tallation area, it hould be en ured that the water leakage of the water heater
or pipeline joint hould not cau e damage to the article in adjacent region or lower layer of
the building. While in talling the water heater, plea e be ure for mounting the water inlet and
outlet pipe at the bottom of the water heater.
Vertical in tallation of the water heater i trictly prohibited.
 
$ Hot water over 50°C will cau e cald. In order to protect you and your family,
e pecially the afety of children, if you et the temperature exceeding 50°C, plea e
take care.
The in talling urface mu t be capable of upporting at lea t four time the weight of the water
heater when filled with water. If the water heater i not in talled on the bearing wall or i
mounted on hollow brick wall, corre ponding protective mea ure mu t be provided, for
example upporting rack, through-wall crew, mounting of back plate, etc.
Prior to confirming the po ition of bolt hole , retain at lea t 300 mm pace on the right ide of
the water heater , to open the ide cover for repair .
If the water heater i embedded into a gu et plate, the plate on the right ide hould be
moveable for convenience to di mantle the end cover for repair and maintenance.
The water heater hould not be located outdoor or in an area ubjected to freezing.

i propo ed, the core area of electric upply wire hould not be le than 1.5 mm .

U e a drill bit with diameter of 12 mm to drill 2 hole at lea t 100 mm deep in the wall.The two hole
hould be aligned horizontally. The horizontal di tance between the 2 hole i hown in the below
table(Fig. 3).
The di tance A i 5~10mm(Fig. 4).The nylon expan ion tube hould be in erted into the drill hole . It
i nece ary to u e a teel pipe to fa tern the bolt into the nylon expan ion tube .The head of the crew
hould be vertical upward. Place the water heater on wall mounting crew .Downward on the heater
to en ure that the water heater i fixed teadily.

Apply proper ealing to the pipe joint to prevent leakage. At the ame time,
the relief valve may not be tightened exce ively to avoid damage.

While in talling a control box on the Wall, if the groove
or clip are in talled on the Wall, lay the control wire into
the groove or through the clip directly, and then fix the
control box on a dead plate prein talled on the wall. In ca e
that the gland i embedded in the wall, fir tly remove four
crew of the control box, open the box, and take out the
control wire from the Control box; plug off the wire from
the PCB, and then pa the control wire through the
gland(pay attention to not damage the ten-pin wire); plug
the ten-pin plug on the PCB, then fix the PCB into the
backcover, clo e the front cover, crew down the crew ,
and finally ecure the whole control box on the dead plate
prein talled on the wall.

The power cord and plug ha been provided for the water heater. U er only need to in ert the
plug into the corre ponding electrical ocket.

En ure that the ocket i grounded reliably. U e an independent high-quality
ocket, it rated current hould not be le than 5.5A(CEWHR-PE6-1200)
/13.1A(CEWHR-PE6-3000) and en ure reliable contact with the plug.
After all the pipe are connected, fir t open the di charge valve of the water heater
, then the
feed valve. Then fill the water heater with water
, exhau t the air till water tream flow
uniformly out of the hot water outlet. Thi indicate that the water heater ha been filled up.
Plea e clo e the hot water di charge valve and check all connection for any leakage. If leakage
occur , empty the inner tank, repair the leaked connection and then refill the water heater with
water.For your convenience, plea e don’t clo e the feeding valve while filling the water

Connect the valve provided with thi unit to the inlet
of the (inlet pipe ha a blue cap). The arrow point
to the direction of water flow (to the water heater).
The relief valve mu t be connected to the di charge
pipe. The hot water pipe i connected to the water
outlet (outlet pipe ha a red cap). If the water pre ure
of the inlet pipe approache to or exceed the relief
limit (0.8 MPa) of the multi-functional relief valve,
plea e in tall a reducing valve on the water inlet pipe
away from the water heater. Refer to Fig. 5 for pipe

For the fir t-ever power connection, electronic controller will run elf-in pection program. All creen
indicator will glow (Fig. 7) and go out econd later indicating the heater i tandby.

pre et temperature mode and default di play time. Di play the current clock " 12:00 ".The etting
temperature i 70℃.

hour , the heater could keep clock etting information for 72 hour when power upply i cut-off.

In non-timing mode, pre the "PROGRAM" key for 3 econd approximately and the hour digit
fla he . Pre the "Increa e button" or "Decrea e button" key to et the hour; then, pre "PROGRAM"
key again, the minute digit tart fla hing and then pre the "Increa e button" or "Decrea e button"
key to et the minute. In ca e of pre ing continuou ly, the data change cea ele ly; then pre
"PROGRAM" key again and exit the clock etting mode.

With heater power on, u er could pre the "PROGRAM" key to change the tatu among“Timer-1”,
“Timer-2”, “Timer-1 and Timer-2”.
With Timer-1 indicator light up, u er could pre the "PROGRAM" key for 3 econd to enter Timer-1
etting tatu .With“TIME ON” and fla hing, u er could pre "Increa e button" or "Decrea e button"
to increa e or decrea e “TIME ON” by 30 minute .Pre the “PROGRAM” key again,with “TIME OFF”
and fla hing, u er could increa e or decrea e “TIME OFF” in the imilar way. U er could change the
tatu among time-on, time off and exit by touching the "PROGRAM" key.
(: Default timing interval for u age i 21:00 ~ 8:00. The timer cope of the timer1 i from
21:00~8:00.For timer2, the range i free.
With Timer-2 indicator light up, u er change time2 in the imilar way.
U er could pre the "program" key to enter Timer-1 + Timer-2 etting tatu .
It mean there are two timer in a day.
The water heater will work during the period from “timer on” and “timer off”.

1200W/800W(Low Power).

Safty valve i a kind of protection device again t overpre ure, thu it i a normal phenomenon to ee
water di charged from afty valve when water pre ure ri e over 0.8MPa to heating or upply rea on.

U er hould check afty valve regularlya follow:
Under the normal circum tance,open the relief valve regularly(turn the handle of the relief valve)to get
rid of the calcium carbonate depo it,ect. If the wate flower out, the relief valve work normally without
blockage; If no water flow , plea e top operation immediately, and contact local authorized dealer .


When power on, u er could touch "INSTANT" button to turn on “In tant heating ”with the indicator
" " light up. Once reach etting temp, the heater will automatically change back to the mode before
“In tant heating”.

While repairing the water heater , plea e di connect the power plug from the
ocket.
$Prior to the repair of the water heater , plea e refer the trouble hooting chart to
rule out all the obviou cau e .
If the water heater need to be drained, clo e the water inlet valve fir t, open the drain valve, then
rotate the handle of the relief valve, relea e the nut connected to the water outlet joint of the inner
tank and drain water from the di charge tube.
It i recommended that the tank hould be flu hed to remove ediment which may buildup during
operation.Specific operating procedure are a follow :
(1) Di connect the power .
(2) Screw off the relief valve and remove the internal water inlet pipe of the water heater.
.
(3) Connect the water outlet pipe connection of the water heater to the tap water .
pipeline and fill water from thi end, the water inlet pipe connection i connected to floor drain
by pipe and di charge water from thi end.
(4) Open the water inlet valve to get a maximum tap water flow, flu h the tank till the drained water
from the tank become clean.
(5) Connect the water inlet and outlet pipe again according to Fig. 7, and put the water heater into
u e after a leakage te t.


The drained water could have a high temperature, a cald might be cau ed, plea e
be careful.
 Before in tallation, check and confirm if water heater power,match up with each other. electricity
meter and wiring
 The water heater hould be grounded reliably. It i prohibited to connect the earth wire to neutral
wire or tap water pipe.
 If the afety valve ha been in talled by the manufacture, for ake of afe operation.u er can not
alter the in tallation location or block it outlet without permi tion.
 Water of 50℃ or above may have ri k of cald. Plea e check water temp by hand and u e water
mixing valve to get water in appropriate temperature

Be cautiou about the hot water di charge through afety valve, a it may have ri k to cau e cald.

For any damage of power cord, plea e contact local authorized dealer for replacement.


