Thank you for purchasing the ABC
Hobby Typhoon™562 EP Ready-To-Run boat.
Please read these instructions carefully
before attempting to operate your boat.
The Typhoon 562 EP comes Ready-To-
Run with the JR™Python AM radio system
and mechanical speed controller already
installed. All assembly and building is done
at the factory, allowing you to quickly get
your boat running.
You will need to purchase the following
items to get your boat on the water:
• 12 “AA” alkaline batteries for the
radio system
• 7.2V Ni-Cd
Battery Pack
with Tamiya
Connector
(DYN1000)
• Ni-Cd Battery
Fast Charger
(DYN4010)
Step 1: Inspection
1. Carefully remove the boat, foam boat
stand and radio transmitter from the box.
2. Inspect the boat and make sure that no
damage is present. If you notice damage,
please contact the hobby shop from
where you purchased it.
Step 2:
Installation of
Radio Batteries
Note: Read the JR™Python radio system
Operation Manual to get accustomed to
your radio.
1. Install 8 "AA" alkaline batteries into the
transmitter with respect to proper polarity
as described in the radio instructions.
2. Remove the scale pilot cockpit and
the battery tray to access the receiver
battery box.
3. Install 4 "AA" alkaline batteries into
the radio box as described in the
radio instructions.

Step 3: Checking
the Radio System
1. Turn on the transmitter. The LEDs on the
transmitter should all glow, indicating
fully charged batteries.
2. Move the receiver switch to the ON
position. When the steering wheel is
rotated clockwise, the rudder servo arm
moves toward the front of the boat,
initiating a right turn.
3. Squeeze the throttle trigger. Notice that
the throttle servo moves the speed
control toward 1 and 2 forward speeds.
Note: If any of these functions are
reversed, change the respective reversing
switch position (see radio manual).
4. Secure the battery tray with the included
clear tape.
Step 4: Checking
the Drive System
1. Turn on the transmitter and receiver
switch. Be sure the speed control is
in the neutral (N) position.
2.Connect a fully charged 7.2V Battery Pack
(DYN1000) to the speed control.
3. With the propeller free from any objects,
briefly squeeze the throttle trigger. The
propeller should rotate. If it does not, the
battery may need charged or the speed
control fuse may need to be replaced.
Step 5: Testing
Your Boat in
the Water
1. Make sure that the radio is on and
the battery is plugged into the speed
controller and motor. Carefully place
the boat in the water.
2. Pilot the boat at slow speeds, staying
close to the shoreline to ensure that you
have good control and that the boat is
functioning correctly. Be certain to avoid
all objects in the water. Once you feel
comfortable with the control of your
boat, it is safe to go further away from
the shoreline and at faster speeds.

3. When you notice the boat beginning to
lose speed, bring the boat back to shore.
It will be necessary to replace or recharge
the battery before heading out again.
Step 6:
Maintenance
Before and after each run, make sure that all
screws are tight and that the propeller is
free from any entanglements.
Note: Running the Typhoon™562 EP
RTR in salt water could cause some parts
to rust. If you do run the boat in salt
water, rinse it thoroughly in fresh water
after each use.
