Connect Ethernet Here
Connections
If a NetReach device is not working properly, first ensure that the unit has proper connections.
The following needs to be connected to the NetReach:
Ethernet Cable - an Ethernet cable is connected between the LAN Ethernet port of the
NetReach and the client router. If the site is using the PoE cable, refer
to the PoE cable setup diagram.
Power - power is supplied by either the 12-volt AC wall wart or the PoE cable.
The NetReach only operates with one supply of power. DO NOT supply power to
the device with both the PoE cable and the 12-volt AC wall wart!

VLAN Auto-Discovery
The NetReach VLAN auto-discovery feature is used to have the NetReach automatically discover
and connect to a router that has VLANs tagged to its Ethernet ports. This is useful if an un-
configured or misconfigured NetReach unit is connected to a router with tagged VLAN ports. To
perform the VLAN auto-discovery, press the grey function button located on the top of the
NetReach device six times within six seconds. Note that this VLAN auto-discovery process may
take up to 40 minutes depending on the type of router that the NetReach is connected to and
the firmware version of the router.
Restore Factory Default Settings
Restoring a NetReach device to factory default settings will clear out the settings obtained from
the NetReach’s remote configuration and load the factory default settings. To restore a
NetReach device back to default settings, perform the following steps:
1. Power off the NetReach for at least two seconds.
2. Power on the NetReach and wait 30 seconds for the device to boot.
3. Press the grey function button located on the top of the NetReach device three times within
3 seconds, wait two seconds, then press the button three more times within 3 seconds.
4. The Function button located on the top of the NetReach device will begin flashing on and
off, indicating that the NetReach is clearing out its flash memory and resetting to default
configuration values.
5. Wait 30 seconds for the NetReach device to reboot. If the NetReach has a centrally
configured profile, it will automatically update its configuration at this time.
