event that any future shipping of this appliance is necessary.

of the water. This will sanitize the unit before usage.

CLEANING & STORAGE
1. Always ensure that the base unit is turned off, unplugged from the
wall outlet, and that the kettle has cooled sufficiently to touch prior to
any cleaning or storage. Wipe down the exterior of the kettle with a
moist cloth.
2. When storing, stow the cord beneath the base unit and make sure
that the lid is closed and that the kettle is correctly attached to the
base. Do not place anything on top of the kettle during storage.
3. Periodically it may be necessary to remove mineral deposits that
build up. These deposits are associated with the mineral content of
tap water and therefore how often you will need to “descale” your
kettle will depend on the level of calcium in your water supply. This
calcium build up may look like a discoloration on the inside of the
kettle.
4. To remove mineral deposits you can purchase kettle descaler
products from most supermarkets or hardware stores and follow the
directions on the packaging.
HOME DECALCIFYING
To home decalcify, open the kettle lid and fill with 3 cups of white vinegar
and add water to the maximum level. Bring to boil. Once the solution is
boiling turn off the kettle and unplug base. Let it sit for 20 minutes and
then pour out. Rinse the kettle. You may need to rinse the kettle several
times so there is no trace of vinegar in the kettle.
Remove the solution the following day, refill with fresh water and bring to
a boil. Then discard the water. Repeat as necessary to remove any build
up.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
POSITIONING THE KETTLE
1. Ensure that the kettle base is positioned on a safe, level, and stable
work area.
2. Remove as much of the power cord from the underside of the power
base (cable storage area) as necessary to connect to a wall outlet.
3. Ensure that the power cable does not extend over the work area.

- 6 -
4. Always Keep out of reach of children.
5. Keep base away from any flammable materials.
6. After pouring hot water, return the hot kettle to the base or a suitable
heat resistant or heat protected surface.
FILLING THE KETTLE
1. Always remove the kettle from the base before adding water.
2. Open the lid by pressing the lid button on the handle.
3. Never add water while the kettle is positioned directly above the
heating element.
4. Add fresh, cold water. Never add any liquid other than water. The
water level should be greater than the minimal level (approximately
3.5 cups or .8 Liters), but not to exceed the maximum level (7.6 cups
or 1.8 Liters).
5. Push the lid closed until it locks into position.
6. Place the kettle on the power base. Plug the base into an electrical
outlet. The base will beep twice.
NOTES:
• Use deionized/purified water when possible for best taste and to
minimize mineral build-up in the kettle.
• Remove any residual water from the kettle’s outside housing prior
to placing the kettle on the base.
• Do not fill above Maximum Level indicator.
REGULAR HEATING MODE
The Regular Heating Mode is designed to heat the kettle to the desired
temperature and once the designated temperature has been reached,
the LED light on the base will turn off and the base will automatically turn
off.
1. Select the desired setting by pressing one of the six buttons.
2. The base will beep once and the selected button LED will turn red.

- 7 -
3. Once the temperature has been achieved the base will beep 5 times,
the base heating element will automatically turn off, and the red LED
will turn off.
4. Whenever you remove the kettle from the plugged-in base it will turn
off. This is a safety feature to eliminate the potential for electrical
shock or fire with an exposed hot base.
NOTES:
• You can cancel the selected temperature at any time by pressing
the selected temperature button again. This will shut off the base.
• Fog and condensation will appear in lid and water level view, this is
typical.
• You cannot select a lower temperature once the kettle has heated
to a designated setting until after it has had time to cool down.
• Whenheatingwatertothehighesttemperature(212˚F),thekettle
may vibrate slightly on the base. This is expected.
KEEP WARM MODE
The Enhanced Keep Warm Mode is designed to allow the kettle to
maintain a designated temperature for up to 30 minutes. During this
mode, each time the kettle is removed and replaced, the kettle will be
reheated to the designated temperature. During this mode the kettle
base will beep for 10 seconds each time the kettle is removed from the
base and beep once when it is replaced. It will automatically reheat to
the designated temperature. This mode will be maintained for up to 30
minutes. After approximately 30 minutes the base will automatically turn
off.
1. Fill the kettle as directed (see FILLING THE KETTLE).
2. Place the kettle on the base.
3. Select the desired setting by pressing AND HOLDING one of the six
buttons for 3 seconds. It will beep three times and the button LED
will light up red while the kettle is heating. Once the kettle reaches
the designated temperature, the kettle will beep once and the LED
will change to blinking blue to indicate the Enhanced Keep Warm
Mode is functioning.

- 8 -
4. When the kettle is removed from the base, the base will turn off.
Once the kettle is placed back on the base, you can select the
desired setting again and the blue light will illuminate and start
blinking again. This reactivates the enhanced keep warm mode. The
kettle will then reheat to the designated temperature if necessary.
This function will continue for up to 30 minutes.
5. To turn off the unit, press the blinking button.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
As a safety feature, this kettle is designed to automatically turn off when
insufficient water has been kept in the kettle. This feature is designed to
prevent overheating of the appliance. When this feature is triggered the
unit is designed to shut off. To reset the unit, unplug the unit from the wall
outlet. Allow the kettle to cool completely. Once the kettle has cooled,
refill the kettle to the correct level with water and plug the unit back into
the wall socket. The safety boil dry protection will automatically reset.
FILTER
The kettle has a removable filter just inside the lid by the spout. The filter
can be removed to clean with hot water and soap. Do not run the filter
through the dishwasher.
To properly insert the filter, place the filter in as shown in the picture
below.
