DESCALING
Your kettle should be periodically descaled because the mineral deposits in tap
water may form scale on the bottom of the kettle and diminish the efficiency
of operation. The frequency of the descaling operation depends on the
hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used. You can use
the commercially available descaler and follow the instructions on the package
of descaler. Alternatively, you may follow the instructions as below to clean
with white vinegar.
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then adding water up to level
MAX. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
2. Then discard the mixture in the kettle, fill the kettle with clean water, boil
and then throw it away. Repeat several times until the odor of vinegar
has been flushed away. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be
removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.
