2 test leads
2 batteries 1,5V IEC LR03
1 Instruction manual
2.0 Safety Measures
PASAR 323 has been constructed and verified in compliance with
the safety measures for electronic test instruments DIN VDE 0411/
EN 61010/IEC 61010 and has left the factory in safe and perfect
condition.
To maintain this condition the user must pay attention to the safety
measures contained in this instruction manual.
The instruction manual contains informations and references,
necessary for safe operation and maintenance of the instrument.

4
Prior to using the instrument the user is kindly requested to read the
instruction manual and comply with it in all sections.
Failure to read the instruction manual or to comply with the
warnings and references contained herein can cause danger to life
or serious injury and damage to the instrument.
In order to avoid electrical shock, the valid safety regulations
regarding excessive contact voltages must be taken when working
with voltages exceeding 120V (60V) DC or 50V (25V)rms AC. The
values in brackets are valid for limited ranges (as for example
medicine and agriculture).
Prior to taking any measurement ensure that the test leads and
test instrument are in perfect condition
The instrument may only be used under the conditions and for the
purposes for which it was constructed. For this reason, in
particular the safety references, the technical data including
environmental conditions and the usage in dry environments must
be followed.
The opening of the instrument may only be carried out by
professionals, except for fuse or battery replacement.
Prior to opening, the instrument has to be switched off and
disconnected from any circuits.
Do not carry out current measurements in systems with more
than 250V DC
The respective accident prevention regulations established by the
professional associations for electrical systems and equipment
must be strictly met at all times.
Avoid any heating up of the instrument by direct sunlight to ensure
perfect functioning and long instrument life.

6
4.0 Use of the Instrument
4.1 Preparation and Safety Measures
Before connecting the test leads always set the measurement
range switch to the desired function.
Before switching to a new function or to a different measurement
range disconnect the leads from the test object.
The instrument may only be used in dry and clean environments.
Dirt and humidity reduce the insulation resistance and can lead to
electric blows when working with high voltages particularly.
The instrument may only be used within the operating ranges as
specified in the technical data section.
Prior to usage check the instrument for perfect functioning on a
known voltage source (see also DIN VDE 0105, Part 1).
PASAR 323 has an Auto Range function that will automaticly
search for the best measurement range.
4.2 Voltage Measurement AC/DC
Do not connect the probes to more than 600V AC/DC. Exceeding
these values can endanger the operator, and may result in damage
to the instrument.
1) Select measurement range (V- / V~) via measurement
functionselection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ”V Ω mA ” socket.
3) Connect test leads to UUT.
4) The value measured is shown on the digital display.
4.3 Current Measurement 10A/15A AC/DC
Do not carry out current measurements in systems with more than
250V.
1) Select measurement range ”AAC” or ”ADC” via measurement
function selection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ”15A” socket
3) Connect multimeter in series to the test object and then switch
onUUT.

7
4) The value measured is shown on the digital display.
If the measurment value is >10A an acoustic signal is audible.
After working with 15A for 30 s, PASAR 323 needs a ”cool down
time” of 5 min.
4.4 Current Measurement AC/DC mA
Do not carry out current measurements in systems with more than
250V. Only measure currents up to 200mA.
1) Select measurement range ”mAAC” or ”mADC” via
measurement function selection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ”V ΩmA” socket
3) Connect multimeter in series to the test object and then switch
onUUT.
4) The value measured is shown on the digital display.
If the measurment value is >400mA an acoustic signal is audible.
4.5 Resistance Measurement
Prior to any resistance measurement it has to be ensured that the
resistor to be tested is not live. Failure to comply with this
prescription can lead to dangerous corporal user injuries or cause
instrument damage.
1) Select measurement range (Ω) via measurement function
selection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ”V Ω mA ” socket
3) Connect test leads to UUT.
4) The value measured is shown on the digital display.
4.6 Diode Test
Prior to any diode measurement it has to be ensured that the object
to be tested is not live.
1) Select measurement range ( ) via measurement function
selection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ” /V ΩmA ” socket
3) Connect test leads to UUT.

8
6.0 Maintenance
When using the instrument in compliance with the instruction
manual, no special maintenance is required.
Apart from replacing the battery or fuse, any work on the unit may
only be carried out by an authorised specialist.
6.1 Battery Replacement
If the battery symbol is displayed in the LCD the battery must be
changed.
1) Prior to battery replacement, disconnect the instrument from
any circuit.
2) Switch off instrument.
3) Loosen the screws on the instrument rear. Lift the case cover.
4) Remove the discharged batteries.
5) Insert new batteries (Type IEC LR03) respect polarity
4) Read the voltage drop in the forward direction from the digital
display. In the reverese direction, ”OL” should appear at the left
side of the display.
Remark: The polarity of the test voltage is ”+“ at the red test lead.
4.7 Continuity test
1) Select measurement range ( )))) via measurement function
selection switch (4).
2) Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the ”V ΩmA ” socket
3) Connect test leads to UUT.
4) The measurement result is shown in the display.
If resistance is <60 Ωan acoustic signal is audible.
5.0 Auto-Power-Off
Approximatly 15 min after the latest key operation, PASAR 323
switches off automatically. To switch the instrument on again, turn
the rotary switch from the OFF position to the desirered function.

9
6) Replace the case cover and retighten the screws.
Now the measurings can be carried out as normal.
Please help care for our environment, do not throw the used battery
in the normal household dustbin, make sure it is disposed of as
hazardous waste, or collected for recycling.
If an instrument is not used over an extended time period, the
batteries must be removed.
6.2 Fuse replacement
If a fuse has tripped by overload or wrong operation it must be
replaced.
Exclusively use fuses of voltage and current values in compliance
with the technical data section.
Only use fuses: 200mA fast acting / 250V, 5 x 20mm,
10A fast acting / 250V, 5 x 20 mm.
1) Prior to fuse replacement, disconnect the instrument from any
circuit.
2) Switch off instrument.
3) Loosen the screws on the instrument rear. Lift the case cover.
4) Remove the defect fuse and insert as new fuse of the same
type.
Using auxiliary fuses, in particular short-circuiting fuse holders is
prohibited and can cause instrument destruction or serious bodily
injury of operator.
6.3 Cleaning
If the instrument is dirty after daily useage, it is adviseable to clean it
by using a damp cloth and a mild household detergent. Never use
acid detergents or dissolvents for cleaning.
