Custom Golf Cars, I c. (ACG)
Your vehicle is desig ed to operate exclusively o battery power.
It is a “Zero Emission Vehicle” (ZEV).
The ideal applicatio for a y battery-powered vehicle occurs whe the daily drivi g
patter is predictable a d the dista ce is relatively short.
The ACG compa y objective i cludes customer safety a d product satisfactio .
This “ wner’s Manual” is desig ed to acquai t you with the proper a d safe
operatio of your ACG vehicle.

vehicle.

The Warra ty begi s from the date that the MOKE NEV is purchased from a
approved Dealer or Distributor of American Custom Golf Cars, Inc. products,
provided that the “Warranty Registration Card” is received by American Custom
Golf Cars, Inc. withi 45 Days of the purchase date of the vehicle.
If the “Warranty Registration Card” is ot received withi 45 days of purchase
date, the Warranty commencement date will be the vehicle production date.

General Warnings _
1. This “ wner’s Manual” should be read completely before attempti g to drive or
service the vehicle. Failure to follow the i structio s i this ma ual could result i
property damage, severe perso al i jury, or death.
2. Whe chargi g the vehicle, be sure that the key switch is i the “OFF” positio .
If the key is left i the “ON“ positio , it may damage the charger or the vehicle.
3. Your vehicle is equipped with a o -board UL- listed charger. Whe chargi g
your vehicle, please be sure to use a proper, grou ded cord to provide power to
the charger. Please be sure to raise the hood of the vehicle to allow ve tilatio
of the charger so that it does ot overheat.
Please refer to the “CHARGING PROCED RES” section for further
information on your vehicle charging.
4. Always obey all traffic regulations when operating the vehicle.
5. Whe stoppi g a d leavi g the vehicle:
a) Make sure vehicle has come to a complete stop.
b) Switch “Forward-Neutral-Reverse Switch” to the “Neutral” positio .
c) E gage parki g brake
d) Tur the “Key Switch” to “OFF” positio a d remove key.
6. Wear safety glasses or approved eye protectio whe servici g the vehicle.
Wear a full-face shield a d rubber gloves whe worki g with the batteries.
7. Use i sulated tools whe worki g arou d batteries or electrical co ectio s.
Use extreme cautio to avoid shorti g of compo e ts or wiri g.
8. Improper use of the vehicle or failure to properly mai tai it could result i
decreased vehicle performa ce or severe perso al i jury.
9. A y modificatio or cha ge to the vehicle that affects the stability or ha dli g
of the vehicle or i creases maximum speed beyo d factory specificatio s, could
result i severe perso al i jury or death.
10. Prior to servici g Vehicle:
a. Chock the wheels.
b. Tur the “Key Switch” to “OFF“ positio a d remove the key.
c. Disco ect battery cables, negative ( - ) cable first.

WARNING!
1. If re ti g or loa i g the vehicle, make sure that the driver is familiar with all
co trols a d operati g procedures before allowi g the vehicle to be drive .
2. A y modificatio or cha ge to the vehicle that affects the stability or ha dli g
of the vehicle, or i creases maximum vehicle speed beyo d factory
specificatio s, could result i severe perso al i jury or death.
3. Do ot shift the “Forward-Neutral-Reverse Switch Lever” while the vehicle is
movi g. To avoid damagi g the vehicle or i juri g a u suspecti g
passe ger, always bri g the vehicle to a full a d complete stop before
switchi g from Forward to Reverse.
4. To avoid u i te tio ally starti g or rolli g the vehicle:
A). Set the “Parking Brake”,
B). Tur the “Key Switch” to the “OFF” positio ,
C). Remove keys prior to leavi g the vehicle.

ACG pure battery electric vehicles are differe t from vehicles you might be
accustomed to ow i g. Special precautio s should be followed whe ow i g a d
operati g a ACG vehicle.
Please read this “ wner’s Manual” a d pay particular atte tio to the Cautio s a d
War i gs i this Ma ual, as well as those placed o the vehicle i various locatio s.
I ge eral, ACG vehicles are desig ed a d are i te ded o ly for use at low speed,
up to 25 MPH a d are ot i te ded for use o public roads with speed limits above
35 MPH.
Specific to ACG vehicles, the followi g safe habits should always be followed:
• ACG vehicles are ope vehicles. For this reaso , safety belts should always be
wor by all occupa ts to preve t bei g throw from the vehicle duri g operatio .
If your ACG is equipped with optio al ca vas or plastic doors, these were desig ed
a d are i te ded o ly to keep wi d a d water out of the vehicle a d should ot be
relied upo to keep occupa ts i the vehicle or to protect them i case of collisio .
• ACG vehicles are ot desig ed to meet a y collisio or roll-over requireme ts.
Therefore, you should always drive your ACG vehicle i a safe ma er while bei g
alert to pote tial da gerous situatio s arou d you. As with all motor vehicles, ever
dri k alcohol a d attempt to drive a ACG vehicle.
• Operate a ACG vehicle o ly o roads where the speed limits are appropriate for
low speed vehicles a d the traffic is light.
(i dividual state laws vary, so check with your local DMV)
• You should ever operate a ACG vehicle so that you are a obstacle a d
become a a oya ce for faster movi g traffic.
• ACG vehicles are desig ed to be recharged from a sta dard 120 VAC-15 Ampere
electrical outlet that is grou d-fault protected. Chargi g from a circuit of lesser
capacity a d/or usi g a cord from the outlet to the ACG vehicle that is ot sufficie t
i wire gauge (AWG) could create a fire hazard.
Please co sult “Charging Procedures Manual” for the proper exte sio cord gauge
which depe ds o its le gth.
• The voltage i a ACG vehicle battery pack (the battery pack is what you charge
a d provides the “fuel” to the ACG’s electric drive system) is 48 Volt DC a d is
sufficie t to cause death by electric shock - electrocutio .

For this reaso , ACG ow ers should N V R attempt to do a y mai te a ce or
repair work o their ACG vehicle’s electric drive system, i cludi g the battery pack,
u less they have had special trai i g. The o e exceptio is i spectio a d refilli g,
if ecessary, of the distilled water i flooded type batteries that ca be ordered with
ACG vehicles.

poi ted out to you as the differe t aspects of ow i g a d operati g a ACG vehicle
are explai ed. Please read, u dersta d a d abide by them for years of safe
operatio a d e joyme t of your ACG Vehicle.

Controls and Indicators
Key Switch
The “Key Switch” is mou ted o the right of the steeri g colum .
It has three positio s:
1. OFF position- There is o power to vehicle.
(Key is Parallel with Steering Column as shown in Figure 1-1)
2. ACC position- There is o power to vehicle power-trai , however Accessories
such as Radio a d Lights are operatio al. (Key is Vertical as shown in Figure 1-2)
3. ON position- vehicle is ON a d ca be drive .
(Key is turned clockwise 45 degrees as shown in Figure 1-3)

WARNING!
Never tur the “Key Switch” to the “OFF” positio while the vehicle is
i motio . This could lead to loss of speed co trol a d loss of co trol

Direction Control Shifter (Forward – Neutral - Reverse)
The “Direction Control Shifter” is located at the ce ter of the vehicle ahead of the
Parki g Brake Lever.
There are three (3) disti ct positio s: Forward (D), Neutral (N) a d Reverse (R).
1.) FORWARD (D)- To operate the vehicle i the forward directio , push the
shifter forward.
2.) R V RS (R)- To operate the vehicle i the reverse directio , pull the
shifter backward. Your Vehicle has bee equipped with a reverse war i g
beeper so that whe the vehicle is i reverse you will hear a loud beep
sig ali g that the vehicle is i reverse.
3.) N UTRAL (N) - Whe the shifter is i the straight up positio the vehicle is
i Neutral a d will ot move whe the accelerator pedal is depressed.

CAUTION!
Always bri g the vehicle to a complete stop before cha gi g the
positio of the “Forward-Neutral-Reverse Shifter”.

Accelerator Pedal
The “Accelerator Pedal” is the pedal o the right. The operatio of the accelerator
pedal differs from that of a Automobile. Whe the “Key Switch” is i the “ON”
positio , as the accelerator pedal is depressed speed will i crease u til full speed is
reached. Whe you release the accelerator pedal the power to the electric motor is
cut OFF a d the motor will “free-wheel” causi g the vehicle to coast.

WARNING!
The vehicle will not stop automatically when the “Accelerator Pedal” is
released. You must depress the “Brake Pedal” in order for the vehicle to
come to a stop or to slow down rapidly.

Brake Pedal
The “Brake Pedal” is the pedal at the ce ter below the Steeri g Colum it.
To slow or stop the vehicle, release the “Accelerator Pedal” a d the depress the
brake pedal with your foot u til the vehicle has come to a complete stop or the
vehicle has slowed to your desired speed.

Park Brake Lever
The “Park Brake Lever” is located at the ce ter of the vehicle to the right of the
driver seat.
To set the “Park Brake”: Pull the “Park Brake Lever” firmly upwards.
The ratcheti g mecha ism will automatically lock the lever i desired positio .

To release the “Park Brake”: Pull the “Park Brake Lever” slightly upwards while at
the same time pushi g the release butto at the top of the lever with your right
thumb, this will release the ratcheti g mecha ism will allow you to push the lever
dow to fully release the “Park Brake”.

Lights Switch
The rotary “Lights Switch” is located o the left side of the Steeri g Colum .
It is ide tified by SAE/ISO “Lights” ico s.
It is the upper part of the combi atio lever that is also used for Tur Sig al Co trol.
It is a 3 position switch:
1.) OFF - Whe the top portio of the rotary switch “OFF” is alig ed
with the “ - “ the lights are “OFF”. (See Figure 5-1.)
2.) PARK – Whe the top portio of the rotary switch “PARK LIGHTS” ISO symbol is
alig ed with the “ - “ the Fro t Parki g Lights a d Rear Tail Lights are “ON”.
(See Figure 5-2.)
3.) ON - Whe the top portio of the rotary switch “LIGHTS” ISO symbol is alig ed
with the “ - “ both the Headlights, Taillights a d Parki g lights are “ON”.

Lights Switch (Beam Control)
The rotary “Lights Switch Beam Control” is located o the left side of the Steeri g
Colum .
It is ide tified by SAE/ISO “Lights” ico s.
It is the forward a d backward motio of the combi atio lever that is also used for
Tur Sig al Co trol.
It is a 3 position switch:

1. LOW - Whe the combi atio lever is i the ce tral positio the Low Beam is
activated. (See Figure 5-4.)
2. HIGH – Whe the combi atio lever is pushed forward the High Beam is activated.
3. High Beam Flash - Whe the combi atio lever is pulled backwards toward the
Steeri g wheel the High Beam is activated.
The positio has automatic spri g loaded retur a d whe the lever is released the
switch will retur to the “LOW” positio .
NOT :
The exter al lights ca o ly be tur ed o with the Key Switch i the ON or ACC
positio s.
