Introduction
I
Thank you for purchasing our Low-Speed Type Grinder. Please read this manual carefully for proper and safe operation.
This instruction manual constitutes a warranty, so please keep this manual carefully nearby after you’ve read it.
1. Warranty Period
If any defect is found in our equipment under normal operating conditions, and we determine it to be a defective,
we will repair it or replace the parts free of charge within the following period and terms:
1) The warranty term of the product is 12 months after the initial operation, but shall not exceed 15 months after
the date of shipment of the product.
2) The warranty period for any parts replaced for repair shall be three (3) months from the
date of repair.
2. Scope
This warranty shall be limited to repair of our equipment or replacement of its parts, and shall not cover any products
manufactured by means of our equipment and defects in manufacturing such products.
3. Exceptions
This warranty shall not apply to the following defects:
1) Defects caused by modifications or repairs made by any party other than our company;
2) Defects resulting from natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons and floods, accidents and fires;
3) Defects resulting from use exceeding limitations in the specifications set forth in the instruction manuals or
catalogs;
4) Defects resulting from non-performance of maintenance and inspection by not observing manual instructions.
5) Defects in the equipment caused by outside factors such as peeling of coating caused by generated gases and
malfunctions due to electrical noise;
6) Defects resulting from non-use of genuine parts (oil, medium, filters, etc.)
7) Consumables (hoses, filters, packings, O-rings, etc.).
4. In cases when the warranty period has expired
We may make repairs at costs, upon request, if the performance of our equipment can be maintained by such repairs.
5. Parts supplying period
As an approximate standard, service parts for our equipment can be supplied for eight (8) years after the equipment
is discontinued. However, some parts may be supplied even after the period elapses. So, please make an inquiry to
our service department about the availability of service-parts.

his chapter describes precautions for operation, maintenance
inspection and repair, identification of headings of precautions and labels
affixed to the product for using this product correctly and safely.
WARNING
When performing operation and maintenance inspections of this unit, be
sure to follow the safety precautions described in this manual.
We shall assume no liability for any injury or accident caused by failing
to follow these precautions.
1. Precaution headings and their meanings
In this manual, indications are classified according to the degree of danger, as follows:
Heading Meaning
DANGER
This heading is used for cases where there is a possibility that
mishandling will lead to the user's death, and precautions to avoid
any such occurrence are described below the heading.
WARNING
This heading is used for cases where there is a possibility that
mishandling will lead to the user suffering a serious injury, and
precautions to avoid any such occurrence are described below the
heading.
CAUTION
This heading is used for cases where there is a possibility that
mishandling will lead to the user suffering a slight injury or
damage to the product, and precautions to avoid any such
occurrence are described below the heading.
NOTE
perating procedures and explanations requiring special attention
and emphasized information are described below this heading.
This mark is used for handling procedures requiring special
attention.

2. Precautions for safety operation
These are general attention items for using this product safely.
WARNING

This is strongly forbidden when
fed manually or sprue
runners may pile up inside of the hopper, or inside the
cutting
chamber.
Machine cannot be started
with
material already inside
the cutting
chamber.
For whatever causes the machine to
stop, if you want to restart
it, you must clean and clear the inside of the
cutting chamber
and hopper. If ignored, this may burn out the motor and motor-
starter.
If the machine stops due to the
motor
starter overload-
protection, immediate
resetting the thermal protector- or
starting the motor by force,
are
prohibited.
You can't start the machine unless you clean and clear inside of
the cutting chamber and hopper and wait 5 minutes
for a thermal
device to cool; otherwise, non-observance of this may result in
the motor and motor-starter being burned out.
Keep the label on the
thermal protector
legible,
and adjusting the amperage
dial at will, is forbidden.

Amperage-value adjustments at will severely affects the
normal function of the motor.

)
Man-made damage to any labels is outside the scope of the
warranty
,
and we are not responsible for any consequences
that occur.
Using a metal tool as a lever for
jammed cutters is prohibited.
Metal levers or wedges will cause cutter damage.
Running the gear motor in reverse
is
not allowed.

Electric current value increases, and the motor burns out.

)
Plastic pellets will be cut in flakes, affecting its use.
Crushed material must be removed
from the material bin.
If material that was crushed gets piled up, it will impair internal
parts of the cutting chamber and over-stress the motor.

A motor that has burned out must be
repaired by an authorized after-service
repairman .
Any motor replacement should be performed by authorized
personnel only.
Working Environment.
Please use this equipment in environments with temperatures
above 32° F and below 104° F, as well as a humidity-range from
25
to
85%
.
Please entrust only experienced
electrical personnel of your company
with inspections, and replacement
work.
Because any person attempting to repair the unit without enough
(knowledge of) electrical / mechanical ability will result in
a
breakdown or dangerous conditions
Please do not use this equ
ipment in
places with flammables, explosives or
steam.
It is very dangerous to run this machine in that environment.
Never modify
or alter this machine
without our recognition and approval.
We are not responsible for any accidents resulting
from
modifications or altering of this equipment.
Maintenance, inspections or
component-replacements must be
carried out ONLY after stopping the
machine and cutting off the power
supply.
Never work on live circuits to avoid human injury, electrical-
shock, or death.
Pleas use common sense and unplug the unit
first.
・Maintenance
Maintenance worker:
Do not check or replace except by an employee who has expert knowledge about
the product, because operation includes the possibility of failure or danger.
When using a crane in a case to replace a gear motor, a qualified person should
observe necessary safety rules such as occupational health and safety regulations
and all local electric facility technical standards.
Clothing & PPE:
Avoid clothing which is easily caught (long sleeves / ties, etc.), and wear safety
shoes.
Wear thick gloves which protect your hands from being cut to prevent injuries
when it is necessary to handle the cutters.
Wear dustproof glasses and a mask because powdered dust scatters in the air
when cleaning using a compressed-air gun.
Request for maintenance and repairs:
Please contact your nearest Service division, when you require maintenance or
repairs.

CAUTION
1) When disposing of products and parts
When disposing of parts or products, obey the local codes of the applicable
state and county, for used products and parts.
2) Power supply
Please use the exact power supply-voltage and Hertz-frequency according to
the unit-specifications, and confirm a reliable ground connection is applied.
3) Routine checks
●
Replacement parts
The components in the machine and the parts have durable years basically.
Particularly, check the cutters (Small-rotating cutters, Large- rotating cutters,
Fixed cutters, fixed-crashing cutters, scrapers, etc.) in the granulator that are the
come in contact with the crushed material and the casing main unit, once a week.
Also, check for chipping / abrasions when cleaning (before operation, and so
on). Then, before replacing parts, consult with our service team when needed.

Regular disassembly, cleaning
To use this equipment for the long term, it is recommended regular disassembly,
for yearly cleaning.
(Disassemble for cleaning and parts replace of the transmission / roller
bearings, etc.) Please inquire to our nearest service division about these needs.
NOTE
1) Cleaning
Do not clean painted surfaces and resin parts (hopper sight glass, window for
checking door opening/closing on driven side) with petroleum-based solvents.
Cleaning with oil-based, thinners, or polishing powder will compromise the
surface. If the labels become dirty, wipe with a soft cloth that has been soaked in
water or hot water under 85 F / 40°C, and wrung out well.
2) Items out of the scope of warranty
Consumables in 3-7 of the introduction chapter- cutters (small rotating cutters,
large rotating cutters, fixed cutters, fixed rough cutters, scrapers, etc.) in the
granulator after use, and wear judged to be normal in the casing of the main body-
for which contact-materials are to be cut- are excluded from the warranty.
Further, any rust on / in the machine after delivery is also excluded from warranty.
Furthermore, damage to the cutters in the granulator caused by mistakenly
feeding foreign matter is also excluded from warranty coverage.

3. About labels
Labels are attached to this product at positions where attention is
required by the degree of danger. Before starting operation be sure to
fully understand the instructions with the WARNINGs and CAU IONs.
Maintenance of labels
●
Keep labels legible until you dispose of this unit.
●
If labels become dirty, wipe with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water or hot water
under 104° F / 40°C and well wrung out. Do not use petroleum-based solvents and thinners,
at any time.

Caution on cutting hands and fingers
1. Pay attention to feed hopper parts during operation
2. Pay attention to the lower part of the granulator
during the operation.
The rotating cutters of the granulator rotate at
high speed.
Do not insert hands inside the feed hopper
and the lower part of the granulator during
operation.
The rotating cutters are sharp. Do not touch
cutters during a stop as well.
Please run the machine after tightening up
the following fastening parts (※)
※ the rotating lock
at the back of the hopper

Make sure to fasten the fastened areas before
starting the machine. If not fastened, and it
becomes loose while running, it will fall down
and be fully open.
nce the hopper is open, the limit switch breaks
contact. At that moment, the machine seems to
stop, but the rotating cutter will rotate for about
half-round because of inertia.
Such a situation is very dangerous, so the
fastening part need to be fastened well, while
running.
The fastened areas can
only be loosened when
the machine is completely stopped.
Even when the machine is stopped , the rotating
cutters are still very sharp. Please pay attention,
and do not to touch them carelessly.

Caution for face
Do not look inside the feed hopper during
operation.
Plastic materials scatter, and there is a danger
that materials will strike your face.
Caution on pinching hands and fingers
1. Caution on closing the feed hopper and cutting
chamber
2. Caution on opening the feed hopper and cutting
chamber
Be sure to lock the wheels (caster
×
2) to prevent
movement when the feed hopper and cutting
chamber are opened and closed.
Lift the feed hopper slowly, and do not insert hands
or fingers near or into the pinch points when closing
the hopper.
Do not insert hands near or into the stopper for the
hinge of the feed hopper, or granulator when you
open it.
If hands or fingers are inserted into the pinch points,
you may suffer lacerations and fractures.

Caution on injuring hands and fingers
Do not touch the cutters carelessly.
The rotating cutters equipped inside are sharp,
and even without power, your hands and fingers
may be injured.
Caution on incorrect operation
Before maintenance checks and replacements,
make sure to stop the operation and turn “OFF”
the primary power supply.
Prohibition of chute-removal, limit switches, or covers.
Never remove safety devices or operate with
modifications made in defiance of the safety
devices, as this is extremely dangerous.

Caution for authorized personnel's approval

There are ANTI-RUST AGENTS (AGR)
installed. Please wipe with a dry cloth before
use.

Insert a single runner only.
◇
Be careful of tipping over the equipment and
pinching hands and fingers when
opening and
closing the feed hopper and cutting chamber.
Caution for locked casters
Be sure to lock the casters in two positions,
except when moving the granulator.
Caution of the motor breaker
If the breaker trips, please identify and remove
the overload root-cause first. After that, it
usually cannot be restarted for at least 5~15
minutes, due to the internal thermal device
requires cooling.

This chapter explains specific precautions of the product.
To prevent the occurrence of danger, precautions are described with
headings (Refer to Chapter 1-1) for the most important items.
1. Precautions for the operator
Heading Item Precautions
WARNING
Materials for use. This equipment is a granulator for plastic sprues and runners.
Other materials are not appropriate for use, as they may become
a cause for accidents, trouble or damage (Product granulation,
wood chips, iron, non-ferrous metals, etc.).
Inserting any materials other than plastic material will void the
warranty.
WARNING
Operator and clothing
Do not perform an overhaul, cleaning or operating except by
authorized personnel’s’ approval.
Do not wear clothing which easily becomes entangled in the
equipment. Wear gloves so that you avoid injury.
2. Precaution of movement and installation
Heading Item Precautions
WARNING
Transfer & Movement Since this granulator is a heavy object, be careful not to tip it
over.
Injuries such as fractures will occur if caught under the
equipment.
When moving the granulator, watch for gaps, stairs, or grades on
the floor to prevent tipping over. Please pay attention.
WARNING
Electrical Ground Before operation, confirm that the ground wire is provided
securely. Without it, an electric-shock may occur.
WARNING
Supply-Power
North America = 60Hz.
The control panel is dedicated for the power voltage of either 230
or 460 VAC, / 60Hz.
If the power voltage identifying label on the operation
control
panel differs, please confirm it before plugging in the unit. If
a
discrepancy is
noticed
, contact to our

ervice division.
3. Precautions of preparations for operation

WARNING
ANTI-
RUST AGENTS
(AGR)
At the time of initial delivery, wear gloves and wipe off AGR
(oil) that is applied inside the unit with a dry cloth only after
confirming cutoff of your primary power source.

Be sure to wears gloves so as not to cut your hands with the
cutter.

CAUTION
Casters Be sure to lock the casters in two positions, except when moving
the granulator.
CAUTION
Initial crushed material
It is necessary to
dispose of the initial
crushed material
batch after delivery as
foreign material such
as antirust oil, metallic
powder, etc. is mixed
in it, and dispose of
them sufficiently.
●
After delivery, dispose of the first batch of crushed material.
Foreign materials such as antirust oil,
and metallic powder is
mixed in the first crushed material.
●
Disposes of it sufficiently so that there is not any
foreign
material mixed in. Observe descaling
of dark regrind material
after granulation, and then clean the unit to check for
foreign
material, before starting a cycle of regrind material.
●
Also discard any
crushed material according to the above
points in order to remove foreign material or fine particles
,
antirust oil, rust, etc. that have mixed into the unit for
material
changes, after long-term operation pauses, too.
4. Precautions for operating

Feed hopper

Do not insert hands inside the feed hopper and lower part
of granulator during operation.
The rotating cutters are sharp. Do not touch cutters when
stopped, as well.
DANGER
Feed hopper The feed hopper should be closed while running. The following
fastening areas
(※)
should be completely fastened.
※the rotating lock at the back of the hopper pivot
If the fastening area is not fastened well, if it gets loose in
running, it will fall down and be fully open. That is very
dangerous.
Do not look inside the feed hopper during operation.
Plastic materials scatter, and there is danger that material will
strike your face.
WARNING
Feeding runners Ideally, insert a single runner only.
It may cause cutter damage and issues when multiple runners are
inserted.
WARNING
Control box Do not open the control box except when necessary.
There is a danger of electrical shock, and may cause trouble and
accidents.
Do not jar the controller, and do not spray it with water.
These actions may cause issues and / or fire.
WARNING
Take-away bin If the operation is continued with the take away bin full, the
rotating cutters scoop up regrind material from the bin, and the
scrapers cut the regrind, causing bends or damage. Do not
operate with the
bottom
box
full.

5. Precautions for maintenance and replacement items
Heading Item Precautions
DANGER
Cutting chamber of the
granulator
Support the feed hopper securely, and open it slowly when you
gain access to the cutting chamber of the granulator.
Since the granulator is heavy, be careful of it tipping over.
Injuries such a fracture may result if caught under the
equipment.
WARNING
Opening & closing the
Feed Hopper chute and
cutting chamber.
Be sure to lock wheels (caster
×
2) to prevent movement when
the feed hopper and cutting chamber are opened and closed.
Since the Feed hopper is fairly heavy, if needed, use two people
to open & close it.
Lift the feed hopper slowly, and do not insert hands and fingers
into pinch points when closing the hopper.
Do not insert hands into the stopper of the hinge of the feed
hopper while you open it.
In an opened condition, do not touch with hands and/or lean on
the feed hopper.
When hands and fingers are inserted into pinch points, you may
suffer lacerations and fractures.
WARNING
Turn off the primary
power-supply.
Before maintenance checks and repairs, make sure to stop the
operation and turn OFF the primary power supply.
Avoid danger by incorrect operation.
WARNING
Rotating cutters Do not touch the cutter carelessly.
Since sharp rotating cutters are equipped inside, even with the
power turned off, hands and fingers may suffer an injury.
Abrasion-proof gloves are always a good idea.

2. Control box overview
There are only (3) main switches on the box: START, STOP, & Emergency Stop.
The E-stop button is equipped with a swivel-bracket, so it may be locked-out for safety.
All circuitry components may be accessed through the access door. The unit should be always unplugged before
opening the access door.
If a thermal trip occurs, be sure to eliminate the cause of the overload, reset the motor protector, and restart after
approximately 5 ~ 15 minutes have passed.

Chapter 4 Installation

This chapter describes step-by-step procedures for installing the unit.
DANGER
Do not tip over the granulator, since it is very heavy.
When moving the equipment, watch for cracks, stairs, or inclines to
prevent tipping. Please be extremely careful. Injuries including fractures
will result if caught under the equipment.
Place an iron plate when there is a ditch-plate or a hole in the movement
path.
CAUTION
Be sure to lock the two casters, except when moving the equipment.

Install the equipment on a stable, level floor.
Ensure that there’s enough perimeter space for maintenance, and so that the feed
hopper can be tilted open for cleaning, checks, etc.

Preparation for primary
power
Confirm the rated voltage indicated on the nameplate of the equipment.
Then, connect to an outlet for the rated voltage, or power supply source.
