1.0 Inleiding

3.0 Adaptieve modus
De AC4455 wordt geleverd in de standaardinstelling met alle dipswitches op OFF.
In deze modus is de mediaconverter ingesteld op "Adaptive Mode". In deze modus
kunnen alleen 10Gbps SFP+ Transceivers worden gebruikt. De ethernetpoort op de
mediaconverter staat in de automatische onderhandelingsmodus en werkt in
100/1000Mbps en 10Gbps netwerkomgevingen.

Bij gebruik van 2x AC4455 in "Adaptive Mode" moeten beide mediaconverters een
ongecodeerde SFP+ Transceiver van 10 Gbps hebben.

4.0 Omleidingsmodus
Andere ongecodeerde SFP Transceivers kunnen worden gebruikt. AC4455
ondersteunt 1,25Gbps / 2,5Gbps / 5Gbps en 10Gbps SFP Transceivers. Wanneer
geen 10Gbps SFP+ Transceiver wordt gebruikt, moet de AC4455 in "Bypass Mode"
worden gezet (dipschakelaar 1 en 3 AAN).

5.0 LFP-modus
De LFP-testmodus (Link Fault Pass-through) van glasvezel is een belangrijke functie
in glasvezelnetwerken die efficiënte probleemoplossing en onderhoud mogelijk maakt.
Wanneer de LFP-testmodus is ingeschakeld, helpt deze bij het snel identificeren van
de locatie van fouten of problemen binnen de glasvezelverbinding.
In deze modus controleert de glasvezelapparatuur de verbinding continu op
onderbrekingen of afwijkingen. Als er een storing optreedt, zoals een onderbreking of
verlies van het vezelsignaal, geeft de LFP-testmodus de foutinformatie automatisch
door aan het juiste netwerkapparaat.
Om de LFP-modus op de AC4455 te activeren, moet dipschakelaar 1 op ON worden
gezet. LFP kan alleen worden gebruikt in de "Adaptive Mode".

6.0 Service en ondersteuning
Deze gebruikershandleiding is zorgvuldig geschreven door de technische experts van

7.0 Waarschuwing en aandachtspunten
Als gevolg van wetten, richtlijnen en verordeningen van het Europees Parlement
kunnen er in bepaalde Europese lidstaten beperkingen gelden voor het gebruik van
bepaalde (draadloze) apparaten. In bepaalde Europese lidstaten kan het gebruik van
dergelijke apparaten verboden zijn. Neem contact op met uw (lokale) overheid voor
meer informatie over deze beperkingen.
Volg altijd de instructies in de handleiding* op, vooral als het gaat om apparaten die in
elkaar gezet moeten worden.
Waarschuwing: In de meeste gevallen betreft dit een elektronisch apparaat.
Verkeerd/onjuist gebruik kan leiden tot (ernstig) letsel!
Als je het apparaat aansluit op het lichtnet, zorg er dan voor dat het niet beschadigd
raakt of onder (hoge) druk komt te staan.
Er is een stopcontact nodig dat dichtbij en gemakkelijk bereikbaar moet zijn vanaf het
apparaat.
Reparatie van het apparaat moet worden uitgevoerd door gekwalificeerd ACT-
personeel. Probeer het apparaat nooit zelf te repareren. De garantie vervalt
onmiddellijk wanneer producten zelf zijn gerepareerd en/of door verkeerd gebruik. Ga

Gooi het apparaat op de juiste manier weg. Volg de regelgeving in uw land voor het
weggooien van elektronische goederen.
Controleer onderstaande veiligheidspunten zorgvuldig:
- Oefen geen externe kracht uit op de kabels
- Haal de stekker niet uit het stopcontact door aan het netsnoer te trekken
- Plaats het apparaat niet in de buurt van verwarmingselementen
- Laat het apparaat niet in contact komen met water of andere vloeistoffen
- Bij een vreemd geluid, rook of geur moet u het apparaat onmiddellijk uit het
stopcontact halen.
- Steek geen scherpe voorwerpen in de ontluchtingsopening van een product.
- Gebruik geen beschadigde kabels (risico op elektrische schokken)
- Houd het product buiten het bereik van kinderen

- Veeg het product af met een zachte stof, niet met een watermop.
- Houd de stekker en het stopcontact schoon
- Haal de stekker niet uit het stopcontact met natte handen
- Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact als je het apparaat langere tijd niet gebruikt
- Gebruik het apparaat op een goed geventileerde plaats

8.0 Garantievoorwaarden
De ACT-garantie is van toepassing op alle ACT-producten. Na aankoop van een
tweedehands ACT product wordt de resterende garantieperiode gemeten vanaf het
moment van aankoop door de oorspronkelijke eigenaar van het product. De ACT-
garantie geldt voor alle ACT-producten en onderdelen die onlosmakelijk verbonden of
gemonteerd zijn met het product waarop de garantie betrekking heeft.
Voedingsadapters, batterijen, antennes en alle andere producten die niet rechtstreeks
geïntegreerd zijn in of verbonden zijn met het hoofdproduct of producten waarvan
zonder redelijke twijfel kan worden aangenomen dat slijtage tijdens het gebruik een
ander patroon zal vertonen dan het hoofdproduct, vallen niet onder de ACT garantie.
Producten vallen niet onder de garantie van ACT bij blootstelling aan onjuist/onjuist
gebruik, invloeden van buitenaf of bij het openen van de serviceonderdelen van het
product door anderen dan ACT. ACT kan gereviseerde materialen gebruiken voor
reparatie of vervanging van uw defecte product. ACT kan niet verantwoordelijk worden
gehouden voor wijzigingen in netwerkinstellingen door internetproviders. Wij kunnen
niet garanderen dat het ACT-netwerkproduct blijft werken wanneer de instellingen
door de internetproviders worden gewijzigd. ACT kan de werking van webservices,
apps en andere inhoud van derden die beschikbaar is via ACT-producten niet
garanderen.

3.0 Adaptive Mode
The AC4455 comes in default setting with all dip switches set to OFF. In this mode the
media converter is set to “Adaptive Mode”. In this mode only 10Gbps SFP+
transceivers can be used. The ethernet port on the media converter is in auto
negotiate mode and will work in 100/1000Mbps and 10Gbps network environments.

When using 2x AC4455 in “Adaptive Mode” both media converters must have a
10Gbps uncoded SFP+ transceiver.

4.0 Bypass Mode
Other uncoded SFP transceivers can be used. AC4455 supports 1.25Gbps / 2.5Gbps
/ 5Gbps and 10Gbps SFP transceivers. When not using a 10Gbps SFP+ transceiver,
the AC4455 needs to be set in “Bypass Mode” (dip switch 1 and 3 ON).

5.0 LFP Mode
Fiber LFP (Link Fault Pass-through) test mode is an important feature in fiber optic
networks that allows efficient troubleshooting and maintenance. When enabled, the
LFP test mode helps quickly identifying the location of faults or issues within the fiber
link.
In this mode, the fiber optic equipment continuously monitors the link for any
disruptions or abnormalities. If a fault occurs, such as a break or loss of the fiber
signal, the LFP test mode automatically passes the fault information to the appropriate
network device.
To activate the LFP mode on the AC4455, dip switch 1 needs to be set to ON.
LFP can only be used in “Adaptive Mode”.

6.0 Service and support

7.0 Warning and points of attention

When you connect the device to the mains, make sure it will not be damaged or
subject to (high) pressure.
A power socket is needed which should be close and easy accessible from the device.
Repairing of the device should be done by qualified ACT staff. Never try to repair the
device yourself. The warranty immediately voids when products have undergone self-

Dispose of the device appropriately. Please follow your countries regulation for the

Please check below safety points carefully:
- Do not apply external force on the cables
- Do not unplug the device by pulling the power cable
- Do not place the device near heating elements
- Do not let the device come in contact with water of other liquids
- If there is any strange sound, smoke or odor, remove the device immediately from
the power outlet.
- Do not put any sharp objects into the venting hole of a product
- Do not use any damaged cables (risk of electric shock)
- Keep the product out of reach of children
- Wipe off the product with soft fabric, not water mop.
- Keep the power plug and outlet clean
- Do not unplug the device form the power outlet with wet hands

- Unplug the device when you don’t use it for a long time
- Use the device at a well ventilated place

8.0 Warranty conditions
The ACT warranty applies to all ACT products. After buying a second-hand ACT
product the remaining period of warranty is measured from the moment of purchase
by the product’s initial owner. ACT warranty applies to all ACT products and parts,
indissolubly connected or mounted to the product it concerns. Power supply adapters,
batteries, antennas and all other products not directly integrated in or connected to the
main product or products of which, without reasonable doubt, can be assumed that
wear and tear during use will show a different pattern than the main product, are not
covered by the ACT warranty. Products are not covered by the ACT warranty when
exposed to incorrect/improper use, external influences or when opening the service
parts of the product by parties other than ACT. ACT may use refurbished materials for
repair or replacement of your defective product. ACT cannot be held responsible for
changes in network settings by internet providers. We cannot guarantee that the ACT
networking product will keep working when settings are changed by the internet
providers. ACT cannot guarantee the working of web services, apps and other third
party content that is available through ACT products
