IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The MI-1500B can create a high level of static electricity in an
unpolluted environment which may cause problems with static
sensitive equipment, such as computers.
WARNING:
Service should only be performed by a qualied electrician. Make
sure the Power Switch is turned o and wiring is disconnected prior
to handling.
WARNING:
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always
be taken.
WARNING:
• To protect anyone passing under the MI1500, it should be mounted
with the bottom at least 10 feet above the oor
• The ceiling height should be at least 15 feet for the most eective
distribution of ions
• Mounting too close to the ceiling may reduce eectiveness
CAUTION:
Read this manual in its entirety before using your MI-1500B:
• NEVER locate air cleaner where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container; to protect
against electrical hazards
• DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids
• DO NOT touch the control panel or plug with a wet hand
• DO NOT run cord under carpeting; DO NOT cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar
coverings; arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over
• DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may
cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the air cleaner
• To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block the air intakes or exhaust in any manner; DO NOT use
on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked
• To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the unit directly into an electrical outlet
• To disconnect air cleaner, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet; pull firmly on the
plug, DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord
• Always unplug the unit before moving or cleaning, or whenever the air cleaner is not in use
• DO NOT use outdoors or on wet surfaces
• DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit, doing so
will void your warranty
• Connect to properly grounded outlets only
• To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not change the plug in any way; do not use adapters

Nature cleanses the air with lightning and rain. Lightning bolts produce positive and negative
ions which cleanse the air naturally. Rain helps bring ions close to the earth’s surface. They are
then attracted to atmospheric contaminants and either removed from the air or attached to
grounded objects.
The MI-1500B produces billions of negative ions which function in the following manner:
airborne particulate, contaminates, and pollution are electrically charged, precipitated together,
and then adhere to a grounded surface or are made heavy enough to be influenced by gravity.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION
• 120-220 volt operation
• Low electrical consumption
• No residual contamination
• No chemicals
• Very low maintenance
• Complete user control
1. Remove unit from shipping carton
2. Remove all protective materials
3. Check for shipping damage or
loose/broken parts
4. Plug the unit into an electrical outlet and
adjust controls according to the application
(See Placing the Unit, below and Adjust/
Setting Controls, page 5.)
The MI1500 comes with a standard, three prong 120 VAC 60 Hz plug In most industrial
applications, it is advisable to mount the unit from the ceiling.
The MI1500 comes with four, 1/4 - 20 tapped holes in the top of the frame for suspension
mounting, or it can be mounted on a TV stand rated at a 75 pound load.

ADJUST/SETTING CONTROLS
Ionizer Control
The adjustment and setting of the ionizer control for the MI-1500B ranges from full positive to full
negative and is determined by application. The more particulate or pollutant in the air, the higher
the settings need to be. The MI-1500B is capable of creating a static charge on objects. Locate a
setting where the pollutants or particulates are eliminated and still have a non-static situation.
Fan Control
The fan speed is adjustable for the MI-1500B.
Static Control
Static is created by an electrical imbalance between positive and negative ions and can be biased
positively or negatively. Establishment of the stronger polarity can be determined by a trial and
error method; however, the majority of all static problems are positive in nature. This means that
the best starting point for the ionizer setting is at the one o’clock position, which is a slightly
negative position. If the static problem becomes worse, turn the control to the left in small
increments until the problem has been resolved.
If the static problems has been reduced, but not
eliminated, turn the control to the right in small
increments until the problem is resolved.
Smoke, Dust, and Particulate Removal
Airborne contaminates are best removed with
the ionizer control set to the extreme right (full
negative). Depending upon the nature and degree
of the pollution, it may not be necessary to have
the control at full power.

PLACING THE UNIT
Elevate the unit as high as possible to insure complete purification. Some pollutants such as
smoke rise and the unit, when elevated, can more effectively eliminate the pollutant.
The MI-1500B is most effective when placed in a position that allows the ions to be spread evenly
and thoroughly mixed with the polluted air. Suggested location, listed in the order of preference:
1. In or near the air stream or current within the room that will
2. Best disperse the ions
3. Nearest the source of worst pollution
4. In the area most heavily used to achieve maximum benefit
The MI-1500B can create a high level of static electricity in an
unpolluted environment which may cause problems with static
sensitive equipment, such as computers.

Ion Generator
The ion generator is maintenance free. Periodically check the ion discharge needles for corrosion.
Replace them if necessary.
Fan
The fan requires no maintenance except on the rare occasion where it may be necessary to give
it a gentle push the first time it is used. If the fan squeaks, a few drops of light weight oil may be
needed on the fan shaft.
1. Is the unit plugged in?
2. Are you sure the outlet is active?
3. Is the unit off/on switch activated?
4. Check the fuse.
